  • So "healthy" is totally up for interpretation, but I selected a few healthy instant ramen noodles to try, which contain fewer processed ingredients than your average ramen packet. One of them surprised me in a good way, and another surprised me in...well, you'll have to watch to find out. ;)

Have you tried immi ramen? I don't think they're in stores yet but if you google youll find them, sooo good for a healthy ramen!

      I haven't tried that!

Immi ramen got alot of bad reviews....many people described it as like rubber band texture with a bland broth....and it seems waay overpriced.....idk if it's even worth trying

@@RandemNJ the texture is different but the broths are so good. They recently updated their noodles in sept and theyre way softer now. Would still rec to try out a pack in whole foods

I happened to cook the Jade Pearl ramen and it just came out better after marinating in some fresh mushroom broth as the broth is way too spicey!

What I'm thinking about is just getting Ramen noodles dried spaghetti style you know? Quick noodles alone. Just noodles to be prepared with other stuff

I'd rather use shrimp or salmon and bok choy and maybe broccoli florets and add a little low sodium soy sauce. For spice, a pinch of turmeric and small bits of fresh ginger.

Good video but there's nothing wrong with MSG in moderation (unless you have a sensitivity or allergy of course!)

The rice ramen seemed to be the best one with a reasonable amount of sodium.....anything waay below 1k+ mg of sodium is better

i've always heard yeast extract = MSG

I've heard that too, but on further research, I *think* it's not quite the same thing?

Late comment, but try chef woo ramen. Beef or chicken, other ones are weird for me.

It is very rude to slurp soup. If it's too hot to put in your mouth without making any noise, there are 2 things you can do.
    1. Blow on it
    2. Wait until it cools.
Polite society wouldn't allow you to eat with then more than 1 time. I'm from south GA & slurping is almost as bad as showing up late to church. Both are bad dorm.

Good thing we don't all have the same definition of "polite society." Slurping soup is not considered rude in many other cultures.

      No.
In Japanese culture it is considered a compliment to slurp Ramen while eating.
It shows the maker of the Ramen they have done a good job.
Coming from someone who was a Ramen chef for years.

The Japanese believe that slurping your noodles is a sign that you are enjoying your meal. I worked with a social worker who lived in Japan and she slurped her soup.

I'm from S Georgia too. Slurping is necessary for the preservation of society. If we can't slurp we perish...

      It is indeed gross sounding!
