  • From the GE Film catalog, "No other factor has played a greater role in the evolution of modern farming than electricity. As this film illustrates, today's farmer can save time, money and drudgery by farming the electric way. The picture shows how electricity can be applied to more than 70 basic farm chores, how, from handling crops to irrigating the fields, from feeding the poultry to cleaning the barn, this modern way of farming means greater profits with less effort. Electricity introduction to most areas in Rural America was a monumental step forward as this Documentary explains. We in this more advanced generation some sixty years later depend on electricity even more with all the Technology we use, from computers, cell phones , Air Conditioners and the lights that light our homes. Without Electricity our economy would Collapses.

Can't watch this video due to the background music/squawking. Ugh

Well.. in the 'old times' people used to talk like that.. everyone had a croaky voice because everybody smoked. Music was squawky because of the dinky musical instruments that were all wobbly and jiggly since they were assembled by hand and people were not so picky. Ah.. we have come so far!

How stupid that they hired actors with trans-Atlantic accents to read a script for these farmers.
