very good engine I bought one for my pulling mower only problem ive had was the engine floods after suting off if I dont sut gas off and it has no govner on it I hold it to the cloor all the way down the track no problems so far
Christopher Johnson you have to cut the block in front and change flywheel, add battery, charging coil, wiring harness. I don't want it bc it's extra weight
Can you post a link for the upgraded performance parts? I'm looking to replace a 9hp tecumseh with one of these 16hp powerland pd420's, the ride is a ken-bar sk-959. Thanks in advance for any help.
www.vegascarts.com/ for performance parts for the 420cc and below is link to buy the engine featured in video. www.ebay.com/itm/PowerLand-PD420-Recoil-Start-16HP-Gas-Engine-Horizontal-Shaft-/282193765010?hash=item41b40f2292:g:D6cAAOSwoudW4Mfq
4Wheel & Chill where do you find the engines because I've looked and cannot find a thing they got discontinued around 2016 when they were selling them for dirt cheap because of overstock. I know power land has a reputation which may be another reason for why they were so cheap, I currently own one and compared to other 420cc clones they do have some noticeable differences which makes it only partly difficult to work on
michael flores I put giant bolt into threads of dip stick with silicone RTV.. then cut it off along with piece of the block so the plate would clear.. ironically I had to scrap this setup. if you look at my updated video I this TC system on a little quad build.. went wuth full jackshaft setup for this engine as it had way too much power.
I don't have the tank on engine any more. it's been mounted to the frame. I'm sure the dimension are online but I can measure the block from plate to top for you?
beware, most of these cheap big blocks do not have iron cylinder sleeves or steel cranks. they are design like snowblower motors are short overall hour life.
Be HONEST has the engine held up good?
now running 44 Magnum Series driver to a 8.5" Driven MaxTorue on a 3/4" Jackshaft

try the Tuned carb from Vegas Karts, i love it and it added plenty of repsonse.
im gonna look it up but only thing I need is to figure out a way to make it electric start

ya mines for pulling need more wait. and I kinda thought of taking a starter and runing a belt on it to a pully on the shaft
That'll work too
I am thinking about buying this engine and put it on my three wheeler it can't be higher than 17 inches
yeah that would be awesome thanks
what torque converter are you using
by chance do you know what the height is? from the bottom of the plate to the top of the gas tank

Thanks a lot for the help.
no problem
Ohhh nice
Great engine for the money
Agreed! the value is incredible for the power output.
thinking about putting this motor on a utv do you know how fast that goes
Im trying to put one on a trailmaster 150. How did your setup work out?
yeah I would be awesome
TH-cam has no videos on the power land 420cc's and its hella aggravating
I think the engine got axed for some reason. I tried to buy another and they're gone or 3x the price i paid for engine in video
It was identical to all my 212cc aside from the governor location.

What type of a torque converter do you have on there? How is the torque converter holding up with the engine?
6years later.. i respond! It was a comet Super 44 clutch driver and max torque driven
how did u get the torque converter plate to fit or is it a gopowersports one

i have since removed the governor and inspected internals. The engine is VERY SOLID and I have no concerns about the engines internal failures.
For some reason these engines are nowhere to be found for sale anymore.
Roman Kostenko they might start selling them again in future. keep eyes peeled on ebay
check harbor freight they always have them
