In this video, Abhi and Niyu examine some life lessons that can be learnt from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's life. Shivaji, the founder of the Maratha Empire, was a visionary ruler who brought peopls together. There are countless stories of his bravery, his excellent administration, and his attention to his subjects' welfare.
When we treat history as a teacher, we can pick lessons from wins and losses of our past and learn from it. By omitting regional history, we do our culture a great disservice and it disconnects us from our roots. This is something we need to fix urgently in India to develop mentally.

I m from odisha..but I like Chhatrapati Shivaji so much that by class 8 I read 7-8 books about shivaji maharaj...
Cool. In maharashtra board we had whole history book dedicated to maratha empire from class 3,4,5. After that we still had big influence of them in history books (not completely) cuz they were very important to understand the history.

Being from Bangalore, I didn’t know all this. As you mentioned, there isn’t any mention of him or his contributions in our textbooks, even though I’m from icse. Now I can see why Maharashtrians worship him. Truly a legendary being.

We had an entire year with 2 book where we were taught about delhi sultans, the mughals... but not even a chapter about such strong leaders like Shivaji Maharaj or Maharana pratap.

As I live in Maval,Pune and being a maratha there is nothing related to Chathrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Chathrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Rajmata Jijau. Even there names arent there in the textbooks. Foreign Kings And Rulers are there in History books . I really hate Indian Education System. And it really hurts. 😢

For me Chattrapati was just a name until recently I befriended a Marathi guy and was pleasantly surprised when he narrated many interesting stories from Shivaji’s life, about his prowess and valour. And we had 2 classes history books only on Delhi Sultanate and Mughals, one had their advent and next dissent. Also, there was just a small section of Chhatrapati Shivaji and that too in the chapter of Aurungzeb. Our country should bring some reforms to increase the chapters on our Country's Glorious History and Heroes rather than those tyrant invaders

Behlol Khan Pathan, Sikandar Pathan, Chidar Khan Pathan were all warrior sardars of Afghanistan.
Diler Khan Pathan was the great warrior of Mangolia. All of them bit dust in front of Shivaji.
Sidhhi Jowhar and Salaba Khan were Iranian warriors, who got defeated by Shivaji.
Sidhhi Jowhar later planned a sea attack. In response Shivaji raised a navy, the first Indian Navy. But before accomplishing the task Shivaji left this world. (He was poisoned.)
