    Again surprised to see new things that I needed, which of course you provide a solution for. I did not know about the trigger type 'template' can do such things. I was creating new items from code to monitor the template values. Great idea with the battery monitor, and the dishwasher pod counter. Genius as always.
    Thank you!

      Thank you Claudiu! Had to remove some things as video was getting to long for everything I wanted to show, but hopefully, still it has enough packed.
      Really want to use templates more, but no time to play with them as they do take a bit of time to tinker them.

    Nice one. I am using ourgroceries for some years now, not integrated in HA, maybe now is the time. Thanks for the video.

      I think you'll be happy with integration. It's not instantly synced, but it is fast. Thank you Adi!!

    Woaaah, the battery notes integration just saved the day. Thanks a lot! I would expect it to be featured in your HACS component series :)

    • @BeardedTinker

      Glad it helped! It will be featured in future video, waiting for one additional thing to be added. Its been asked for date - when was the battery replaced.

    Counting the batteries is really smart but I would do it the opposite way (like your dishwasher pods): if the battery percentage *increases*, it's probably because I just replaced the batteries, so you should remove 2 AA from my stock. When stock

      @BeardedTinker  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's a great idea! I do have a stock of them so would be easy to implement. BTW with latest update Battery Notes also has entity for when batteries were replaced 😉

    Having some error :( To-doFailed to call service todo/update_item. No timezone information available for event: {key} Any idea?

    • @BeardedTinker
      @BeardedTinker  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're missing value in service call. Are you scheduling something for to-do? Looks like whatever is missing is related to time when it should be done.

    Brilliant video as always. Would you know or anyone in the community if this approach could integrate with Google Keep as I'd love to be able to use my nest/voice to add stuff to HA.

      Thank you!!!
      Google Keep is not supported currently (nor I know if it will be in future). There are some initiatives on community forum to get it added, but that's more of a wish at this time.
      There is HACS custom component - github.com/PiotrMachowski/Home-Assistant-custom-components-Google-Keep - but it doesn't sync it with To-Do in Home Assistant.

      Keep up the good work. Love your channel. Thanks for the reply, such a shame let's pray that gets added as I think that would be such a good integration and very handy if it was 2 way.

      Thank you very very much!
      As for adding, I think we need to wait for improved local AI for this. That would be easiest thing to use for it. But maybe I'm wrong.

    I NEED to know why potato seems to have 2 spellings in Croatian hahaha
    On topic: I think we're at a crossroad.. I can't help but imagine that HA will integrate some LLM tailored to the devices it's usually installed on (or more) that will help create these rules and automations from a prompt with the ability to simulate them to see if they are working as intended.. Right now it seems very convoluted to setup not only integrations but also each and every automation you could think of.

    • @BeardedTinker
      @BeardedTinker  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Actually, it's not Croatian, but we do probably have at least 2-3 words if not more 😂😂😂
      Hopefully, improving auto generating automation is soon to come. To be able to create some based on added devices. I haven't seen any system that does it, but even if it already exists - this would be so awesome!

    Do you have a video or information for the zone notification automation of a to do or shopping list? Im trying the much talked about "you go to the store and it shows the list in a notification on my phone" automation but i can not figure it out. Thanks!

    • @BeardedTinker
      @BeardedTinker  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I prefer Proximity sensor - check this video: th-cam.com/video/sfAn3OzMpQs/w-d-xo.html There are other ways to do it also.

      @@BeardedTinker Thanks! I am going to move some of my existing automations to proximity. With the to-do list I am having issues using the associated services like service todo.get_items. I assume I can use that to display the items in a notification on my phone when I am near a store, but that is what I can't figure out.

    Well, here's another shortcoming of home assistant
    Since all the newest releases and they've talked about adding to-do list
    It has not showed up in my list to do a list
    And honestly I'll be damned if I can figure out where to add it from if I need to even add it maybe once I get there I can figure something out but until that day comes there's no list to do anything with

    • @BeardedTinker
      @BeardedTinker  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not sure exactly if this is the question you had - but you add new To Do lists from navigation bar on left side (there should be on that page "+ Add new"), or in Integrations page Add Integration and select Local To-Do.

    • @Traci_S_Aaron
      @Traci_S_Aaron 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@BeardedTinker it's not there I can't do anything with it because it's not on the left page I would put a picture here but I can't

      Did you add Local To Do integration for the first time via Settings - Integration page?

      @@BeardedTinker I just did it I thought it was going to come when they update everything but home assistant sometime it's just crazy it should be easy but they make it so hard sometimes cuz they don't tell you stuff. But yes I added it finally with a Google search

    • @BeardedTinker
      @BeardedTinker  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, that's correct - but you have to be aware that not everything is added by default. Some people may optout of using it - that's why you need to activate it by hand.
      Glad you got it going at the end.
