Very nice cinematography, sound effects and mesmerising details well captured in the film. It was a very engaging experience throughout the documentary
Very good theme and the concept of shared space well captured. It is also differentiated land use by the people themselves!! Fantastic cinematography and well meaning too. Kudos to the team and the leader.
CCF, couldn't have asked for a more meaningful documentary that showcases diurnal transformation of spaces within an urban realm just like how the master architect Correa himself used to make multiple sections of the same space during the day / night to design spaces that are flexible, frugal, functional and yet fabulous. To document those blurring boundaries and effectively humane spaces that still exist in Manek Chowk is an effort to celebrate it. I thank Sanjiv Shah, Shoonya, Akash and Sultan for conceptualizing and putting up this simple yet powerful documentary. Raat Ki Jagmag succeeds in preserving the innocence of the original protagonists yet makes a poignant statement.
This story's construction felt soothing in general, and there's no better method to relate to urbanization, which gives the message an array of possibilities for us to contemplate. The visuals were so alive that it was easy to envision oneself at Manik Chowk, taking in such kinds of stories. Throughout the entire film, there was harmony, from stunning scenes to individuals sharing tales. The sound design and editing of the film felt particularly exceptional; they were so well done that the rhythm and pace of the film consumed the viewer. I enjoy how the film's concept explores both past and present-day circumstances through narratives that ponder what might occur in the future.
I make it a point to visit Manek Chowk every time I go to teach at NID. Great job capturing the transient / multi-tasking nature of this urban space. A people-led approach on how to put limited public space in our congested old cities to maximum utility. Great job Shoonya and team.
Captures the qualities of Indian cities well...spaces that are temporal, transient...in a state of constant flux...the concept of the kinetic city put forth by Ar. Rahul Mehrotra...on a smaller scale... Filmed very well by the team.....the time lapse towards the end👌👌👌.....kudos!!
Hearty congratulations and best wishes to you and your entire team Akash for this good film. The life of a common man has been shown in a very meaningful way through this film that he is spending his life from morning till night to support his family.
