- This is the Last Call Special Edition from Dodge & Mopar that is the Challenger Swinger, On the outside you will notice the classic color F8 Green, Gold School wheels, and shaker hood. On the inside you will find a family Challenger interior. Under the hood is a 6.4L Hemi V8 that pumps out 475HP. Is the 2023 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack Swinger the BEST new muscle car?

As a proud owner of a T/A 392 Challenger, I think all of the last call editions are home runs. Hellcats get the most attention, but I will attest that the 485 hp 392 already has more power than one would need for a daily driver. These are just great, great cars. I'll never buy an electric vehicle.
Just picked up a '22 392 T/A WBSP 6sp...best car I've ever owned hands down (traded in '11 R/T Classic 5.7L)...pick these monsters up while you still can!......AWESOME!
Good to see my challenger drivers here! I own a ‘17 392 TA on full bolt ons and e85. Crazy fast car and that’s coming from a 2016 GT full bolt ons as well.

Hell yeah brother i went and got me a ‘23 Scat Pack with the shaker. Fully loaded interior. I fit all 4 kids with ease. I loved my 5.0 stang. But the additional seat in back, the side hook for the front seatbelts, and that flip lever that folds and scoots the front passenger seat to let the kids out with ease. Even going back to the exact setting it was at.
This is the best dad car ever. Even with 4 kids.
I have to agree, yes everyone may want a Hellcat, but I also can attest that my 392 Charger is plenty! Love that V8 rumble and feeling the car shake at a standstill.
It will never be "last call" for enthusiasts. Great review on a badass muscle car! The Dodge Dart Swinger was a great car too for classic muscle.
I have a 2018 Hellcat Widebody. Still love it and will be hanging on to it. The color of those wheels, love that. Getting away from the black which seems to be on everything with sporty intentions these days, and that shade of green is pretty cool too. Anyway, Dodge going electric means they lose me as a customer. If I were to do a trade in on another sports car, Ford and the Mustang would get my business.

If your wanting to make the rear seats more useable making it a manual control for putting the seat down quick makes sense and it’s super convenient

Nice to see the Challenger with wheels that isn't black...I just took delivery of my 23 HC Red Eye a month ago and the first thing I had done was had the black wheels recoated with a bright silver...as far as the exhaust tips I think they really fit these cars and look great the way they are...I'm glad they ain't round or worse yet quad tipped.
Great video Joe! Also congrats on the 1 mili!!! I had a chance to pick up one of these 2023 shakers but instead opted for a 2023 hellcat jailbreak because I was able to get it with 0 mark up. Albright u test drove the new shaker and man it’s amazing. Dodge does it right with these challengers may not be the most practical but so much fun!
That shaker view out the windshield is awesome!

Just bought this same edition and color. This car does not disappoint. The F8 Green really stands out as a gorgeous color especially with those wheels and shaker. Loving the SRT power and looking forward to making a few spirited runs.

Jerry Ulm Dodge is an amazing dealership. They have ALWAYS bent over backwards for me. There was an alternator recall on my Challenger, and they charged me for the battery that the alternator destroyed. I called the manager, who was not in town and left a voicemail. He called me back within 30 minutes and I was refunded. Always treated amazing. I cannot recommend them high enough.
Great review, Joe, thank you! I'm a long time Ford guy but this Challenger checks all the right boxes, starting with a very cool, clean look! Really like the color and the wide body look. Who cares about technology when you have that sound and power! I could be tempted to trade in my '18 Shelby GT350R!

Basically a slight detune of the 6.4 HEMI 10 hp less than the Scat Pack 485 to 475. A 426 HEMI would be a good engine option for these last call Challenger and Charger models! And a manual transmission would be nice as well!
Except it's not. All Challengers in 392 have 485hp/475tq. Raiti quoted it wrong.
They list them at 485, but they're pushing over 500 crank no doubt, dynos support this. Mopar has been known since 60s to underrate their engines.
Whoever designed this car really studied fatherless boys. They knew exactly what they would like lmao

This is my absolute FAVORITE last call trim if you could add the hemi orange package on top of that kick ass green it would be absolute heaven to me. Just my personal preference because im from the country and i love camo green and orange together but its still my fav even without that extra stuff

Hey Joe, did you know that the Challenger used to have a quad-tip exhaust? The 1970-1973 models had the quad tips but more of a square shape. They do the vacuum-style exhaust because it flows with the boxy shape of the car. And I believe the same thing happened with the 2011 Inaugural Edition SRT8 392. I also want to see a quad tip option but more of a circular shape to it.

Hey, Joe good review on the Challenger, however I still believe if the ev vehicles don't sell like dodge wants them to in 2025 the gas powered cars will be back even they might be hybrid in some models.

Great review. The angle of the camera at the end when you went on throttle was disappointing because you never get that feeling of speed light you do when the camera is set straight forward. 😢😢

THANK YOU for letting the automatic shift itself so I can at least get a guage on how it feels. So many reviewers ONLY use the stupid paddleshifters irritates me to no end. Get a stick if you want to shift. I had a ZF in my Wrangler and loved it, but the ZF Torqueflite in the pentastar Grand Cherokee was lurchy in the first couple gears.
I'm definitely gonna test this one.
What function does the shaker hood perform, because the air intake is the blue air filter?
The shaker scoop feeds cold outside air to the backside of the airbox that the blue filter sits in. The open headlight feeds the front side of the airbox.
I don't believe that car has the open headlight. My Scat Pack didn't until I changed it.
Just a slight nit-pick, but the Swinger was also available in White Knuckle color. F8 Green is my favorite of the three available Swinger colors.

I got one. It's clearly the best of all last call editions. Including any hellcats etc etc. Don't miss it. 1 in 1000. I got green. I assume they split the colors in thirds so about 333 green ones. The performance in sport and track mode do belong on the track so be careful out there.

Don’t @ me, but imo most of these Last Calls are bs overpriced sticker packages. And also, the Challenger looks cleaner and more retro without the bushwacker fender flares lol. The shaker is kinda neat, but the og hellcat hood looks better on scats and is actually more functional with colder IAT’s and reduced engine bay temps with the heat extractors. Luckily, they made many options for different people. End of a legendary era!
