Riding Applecross Peninsula | Royal Enfield's Hunter & Scram

- Day 3 Episode 3 (Thursday 6th July 23). Paul and I continue the days riding as we head north on the Applecross peninsula. Paul did the tour on his Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and I did the tour on my Royal Enfield Scram 411.
Leaving Applecross we head north to follow the coast road along the Applecross Peninsula. Relatively clear sky and the sea as calm and flat as a a mill pond, created an idyllic riding environment. The varying landscape from lush pastures to rugged rocks and sparse vegetation created a feeling of other worldliness. At times the landscape would open up in front of us, revealing the vastness of the landscape with the majestic mountains looming in the distance, have to be seen to be believed! As we reached the northern section of the peninsula, Loch Shieldaig, and Upper Loch Torridon came into view over shadowed by an incredible mountain backdrop.

It is without a doubt one of my favourite stretches of road, fantastic scenery and perfectly suited to the little Enfield’s I’m fortunate enough to live a couple of hours away and have ridden it a few times and I am never disappointed 👍

Wow, what a road and what a ride. I've mentioned to other vloggers that if you find sheep on the road, I recommend shouting "Mint Sauce" or "Kebab", that usually shifts 'em 🤣👍

Once again Tartan Black etc has said it all, Dave. This is just magnificent and you are so right that travelling these roads is the real way to experience it. And being able to share it with your good friend Paul is just so much better than solo I would think.

Thank you Peter, it’s great having comm’s enabling us to chat as we ride these wonderful places. We did lots of tours previously where we had no means of communication when riding, which was fine, but I do love having the ability to just chat and share the common experience in the way we do now. Hope you enjoy the second half and watch out for the red roofs 😁👍🏻

It's such a great run. We've ridden up and over the pass of the cattle then around there. We usually stop off at our favourite cafe in Sheildaig called Nanny's. It's right by the Loch and does beautiful sea food.
It’s beautiful isn’t it, I’ve ridden it in both directions now and on both occasions the sun was shining 🙂I think this and Drumbeg loop are my favourite parts of the Western Highlands. I can feel a return visit coming on 😁 thank you for leaving a comment 👍🏻
