- Evie Tornquist Karlsson, born 1956, New Jersey. Parents immigrated from Norway. Sang for Billy Graham Crusades. A recipient of the Dove Award in '77 & '78. Husband, Swedish pastor, musician and writer of Christian songs, Pelle Karlsson. Three of her records were nominated for the Grammy Best Contemporary Gospel. For music CDs www.eviemusic.org.

I found Evie’s music in the seventies, It was the best music I have ever heard and it still is. I am in my 80ties now it still the best music ever. I don’t know of anyone who has a better voice. God bless you dear girl.
I first met Evie’s albums when I was 11, back in the late 70s. She’s been my inspiration, why? Because she takes me to Jesus. I’ve had the honor of translating some of her songs and have sang them in church. I love her!
Thank you for sharing Mrs Karlsson's testimony. I been listening to her encouraging songs about our Lord Jesus Christ from the late 70's till today. I don't know why, but this is the first time I listened to her testimony. We are all so different but God's amazing grace is the same and can reach anyone where ever they are at in life.

what a light shining ....STILL...in this dark world....
Evie Karlsson is SO committed to the innocence of purity. She was back in the 1970's a great shining light of contrast to the immorality back in those times. She committed herself to this from the start and even today she stay still pure and constant with the Lord along with her audacious and pure love.
What do mean immorality was bad in the 1970's? THIS is bad --- the way it is in the 2020's. Evie had things like premarital sex and substance abuse to contest, but she never had to contest transgenderism.

@@paulfishman4273 Paul Fisherman, I am SO EMBARRASSED that I wrote a comment that was so vague as to be SO GROSSLY misunderstood. I did not mean that Evie was fighting immorality INSIDE HERSELF, but instead I meant that she was fighting the ills of society that existed OUTSIDE OF HERSELF by speaking against them and saying things like, "No no no, stop doing that." Now how 'bout I reword my original comment by saying, "What do you mean immorality was bad in the 1970's? THIS is bad --- the way it is in the 2020's. In the 1970's Evie had things like premarital sex and substance abuse to speak out against, but she never had things like transgenderism to speak out against like she has now." THERE, PAUL --- IS THAT BETTER? IS THAT MORE EASILY UNDERSTOOD FOR THE MASSES OF PEOPLE WHO MIGHT READ THIS?

I appreciate your honesty about your walk with the Lord , I to have faults many of them and the more I pray for help, it seams the more l have been frustrated with my failures but my faith has never let me down when I needed him most. Thank you Lord for your faithfulness and love for me a forgiven sinner saved by grace.

I started listening to Evie in the eighties.
Have been enormously encouraged, emotionally gone into tears, and unto prayers; pleading for grace to love Him more, when listening to Evie.
What beautiful and edifying songs they have been uptill date; and will always be.

She is a teacher to me = when she provided this testimony, I was 7 yrs. of age.
I love "Give them all to Jesus" & " Born again" Evie's Christmas album I remember hearing as a young boy & remember my oldest sister singing it.
I'm back on the straight & narrow now & learned a whole bunch in her testimony.
Denying yourself and the sinful selfish ways is the firm foundation of a strong relationship with Jesus Christ.
Thanks for sharing Evie's personal witness with us. Knowing her from my own Salvation Army personal contacts with her, she is totally genuine in every way.
Saw her in concert at the Bronco Bowl in Dallas about the time of this recording. Never will forget it. What a talent, and spirit-filled personality! Key for me is the incredible Andrae Crouch interpretations.
I have Evie's album that my mom ordered off of TV in the 1970's where she is posed with her Schwinn Bicycle. I was always pronouncing ''Evie'' as ''eevee'' and come to find out after watching this ''documentary'', her name rhymes with ''heavy''. As time went on, I acquired more of her wonderful albums.

One hypothetical situation Evie considered had to do with risking going along with personal ambitions or desires, just once. Here's the deal over-all.... It takes a few years (5 or so) to build a house, from basement to the roof. It takes a wrecking ball one good swing to lay waste to those five years of planning and building.
I believe we all struggle at times Evie, some more than others, but we’re in a war with 3 enemies, so don’t beat yourself up 2 much beautiful gifted sister 🎤👩🏼💛

My two very favourite Gospel songs are Andrae's "My Tribute" and Evie and husband Pelle's brilliant (written and sung) "This Life", in many ways very similar songs....
