The most dangerous thing i see in the slum was the cow getting run over by a moving vehicle. The only thing Troy got robbed of was a smile from the lottery kid after he tipped her 60K vnd inside the slum.
It's safer in the slums than in the tourist areas, I think. Even if there are shady characters there, they are not gonna jump you in front of their house in full view of all their neighbors.
This area looks close to the place where you first met Winnie on her bike March of 2020. BTW how is she doing after supposed finger surgery earlier this year?
When someone is shooting up in broad daylight out in the open, you can bet your bottom dollar it's dangerous. Please don't go in there and give money, as you may not get out alive. That poor bull looks half starved.
Troy I don’t get your reasoning, I’ve seen you dish out 1.5 million to a cute young vn girl without interrogating her with questions, then turn around and spend 20 minutes interrogating an old homeless women with a kid sleeping on the street only to give her 500,000 vnd. Then You go thru this poverty ghetto and take a obviously poor little girl’s change over 100,000 ($4). Sometimes your generosity doesn’t make sense
Excellent point. It actually bothered me when he took the change. It may have only been a couple of US dollars but that's still a blessing to somebody so young and so poor.
@@christopherh9173 I lived in Vietnam over 7 years. The ticket sellers get 10% (less than a US nickel) per ticket they sell. Why bother buying any tickets as the VN government gets 90% of the money. Just give the money help the poor and move on. That way the poor get to keep the money.
Why do you cherry pick examples to try and make me look bad. The girl was handing out rice to homeless. I didn't question her because it was evident what she was doing. If you disagree with amounts given specify how much you want to give and to whom. We don't need virtue signallers.
@@troycambo hey Troy if you can’t handle constructive criticism. Then how do you expect to improve and better what you’re doing? I think it’s great what you are doing but sometimes you seem off in your judgement or reasoning. I lived in Vietnam since 2013 have given away over $10,000 USD of my own money to hundreds of poor Vietnamese people. If the idea or goal is to help people why give money to the government buying tickets? I’m 67 and learned in life learn from my errors and shortcomings and from others criticism. I’ve been watching your videos for years and have seen great things but sometimes your reasoning or judgement don’t make sense. Commenting on that doesn’t take away any of all the good you do. But 30,000 vnd ($1.35) would mean a lot more to that little girl than it means to you. Someone pointing it out shouldn’t upset you, it should make you think about it. If you’ve read my other comments to you I’ve offered you 7 mil vnd and my contact number next time you’re in Saigon for the young girl with health issues that was only given 1 mil. Everyone makes wrong decisions but it is better to try and learn from them than get upset. PS: it’s not about virtue signalers, it’s about learning to better what we’re trying to do.
Lol troy bring back the cow some one will be wondering where it disappeared too lol. In a situation with drug users u should be aware of your surroundings because u can’t predict their behaviour but from what I saw most seem to be a working class people and I don’t think ppl would let u get beats in their home Turf plus if someone does do something it wouldn’t be smart because that’s where they probably live lol
Is it dangerous for people outside or for the one inside =/ ! It look to me it is for the one inside ... But without the rubish it could be a very nice place... Their is the space to build housing for the poorest, restoring the others... You can even buy a little factory to recycle all the plastic rubish into 3d printing wire... And maybee this could do a little rubish economy that clean the area, brougth people and maybee alow to do little food business, cause the lake clean and the area is very green so really nice to hang out close to the city ! I know it's kind of dream =/ ! Is that a mayor thing or a gouvernement thing ? I see their is more than plastic, but maybee it's the perfect place to a FABLAB ! in big size but not too big netheir but one usefull to everyone ! to build share tools ect ect
Poor kid is so young hanging around there all alone. Thank you Troy for always helping.
At least it is daytime.

Hi Troy ! Sorry was busy , watching ur video after long time
Thank you very much for your hardworking troy.
Our poor Earth...............
Cry about it USA homeless camps look the same.
The place can't be that bad, because I saw dogs there. Anywhere there are dogs is a nice place.
Cows and Troy are a special couple.....
Set the cow up with a lottery selling gig. Need to get it to the next stage of independence.

Cow’s owner should have used a stronger rope, wonder if he managed to get his bovine back?
vietnam is indeed poor since a long time ago
Troy thank you for your kind heart
Being poor is.no excuse for living among garbage. Is nobody capable of cleaning up the garbage ?
that area is a make-shift landfill; common scenario in a developing country.. then the poor can pick through it all
The cow wants your bike so it can go to Switzerland.
very good
holy cow
was the grass greener on the other side of the fence for the cow? guess we'll never know.

These videos are amazing
I could have watched that Cow's escapades for an hour! Shame you stopped recording. 🤣
Maybe he has more footage, the first of a twelve part mini series.
That would be a fun video just watching that huge cow walk around town. Troy should feed it some bokchoy and carrots.

cool
So Ngan and family are gone? This is that same area right? How about the youngest Grandma in Saigon?
I thought the government had stopped issuing lottery tickets a couple of weeks ago.
It would be an interesting experiment to send a white guy in there trying to do what Troy does and see if there is a different reaction.
Bro I thought the close down Saigon, because of COVID?
Old footage, you can see at the end people gathering in one place, which is definitely prohibited now.
Troy, how is that possible that you can go drive to other districts ? I thought saigon was in totally lockdown ?

Seeing a child that small/young working like that is a tragedy. Wish she could be off playing in the park.

well the "cute" word in your sentence explained it. being "cute/pretty" has its privilege.

Dude. C'mon, man. That wasn't Detroit. You're not gonna get jump for your bike. Stop being so racist against the slum-dwellers.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣And the people there act like they don't even see it🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That place doesn't look that bad. Obviously poor, but not really extremely poor.
I hope they patch that npc cow
Its Thirsty poor bull
Cut the rope off so the cow does not get it’s nose torn off.
