I have only watched 4 minutes of this video and already learned so much! I do find it unpleasant that the level design encourages me to bypass an area just to loot and recharge skills. I had to go past High Road, hit Fallen Angel and Cave of Fear, just to prepare myself for coming back to High Road. That isn't grinding, that is bad game design. I didn't realize I could silence the shaman so easily either. Video was awesome but I don't want to watch anymore. I finally feel equipped with the knowledge and gear to handle the fight. Thanks for such a good explanation.
I didn't realize you could prevent the Shaman from calling reinforcement (I thought it was some prescripted event like in Xcom) so between that and the robot healing them... the fight was impossible to win for me. Thanks.

@@SampstraGames I'm reinstalling it now, I never played it on very hard difficulty so I'll see how badly I do. You make it look so easy, but I'm not quite at your level of ability with strategy games haha
Same here, and with the weapons/upgrades i had there would have been no chance to kill him without alerting the others. And with the hunters and the medbot alerted this fight becomes extremely hard. Especially considering how early in the game it is.

Lol. I just tried Ironman Hard difficulty. I got to High Road OK. I didn't have to use Hoggrush on the Shaman, as one managed a Crit. I got to the Hunter. Selma fired, no Crit. I now had the option to Hoggrush, or take the 75% chance on Skull Splitter, assuming Bormin didn't Crit. I took the chance on Skull Splitter, and it missed!. I got 2 down and had to be revived. A Marauder revived by Medbot took the high ground on top of the Container. I used Moth Wings on Dux, 75% chance to hit, and missed. Luckily, Selma could Run and Gun. Medbot was easy enough. Learned a lesson there - use the 100% option if you can. I'm down 2 Medkits, and need to use 2 more, if I want to get them to full health. :)
Oh, yeah...and that Needler pistol is only being guarded by a Butcher, 2 Zone Dogs, a Med-bot, a Pyro, a Marauder, and Chief Husse - all globbed together! Better have at least one grenade on each of your guys. :D
Yeah, well you need to get it. You can't really do the game much without that weapon. You can use grenades in Fallen Angel no problem. There wont be that many more areas where you will need grenades.

How is it you get past Hamin's cabin to Selma with no use of med kits ? Wasn't room to slip past shamon on left or hunter in back without being spotted for me.
Wait We have to go to fallen angle first to get a gun but doesn't show us on how to defeat fallen angle.. okay. Then has higher level squad. It would be helpful to show your skill tree for each character.
You have to get the weapon in fallen angel to do the rest of the game well. If you don't its gonna be super hard nearly impossible. You could watch my lets play for how to do fallen angel. Not sure if I have a higher level squad. I don't know. Either way,from this level on if you look at the playlist you can see the exact order in which I did each level. As for the skill tree I don't remember what I had unlocked this early on, but you could just check the abilities needed for this level.
@@SampstraGames I say your let's play after looking through your channel. Now I look like a dick. I have to restart the game any ways because I spent my skill point on health instead of traits. I don't like that the games gets too hard way too fast. That I am unable to reset the skill tree as well. Too me it doesn't make sense to have a character(the hog) be all about being quiet when he does start off of with a silent weapon. Where as the duck who does have a silent weapon doesn't really care about being quiet. Maybe the writers thought it would be fun but logically doesn't make sense. Sorry for the rude comment but your videos do help. I now have a better idea on what to do now.

Reloading the game does not work for what you want. Reload reenter the area then your shots will have different results. There is more information on this in the comments under some of the other videos or you can read about "save scumming" and mutant year zero it will be explained.
Yes. That is always like that. Reloading does not make a difference. The shot will always end up the same way.In order to get a different result, run out of the map and then back in. Or change the order of action. If shot 1 gives you 100% shot and shot 2 - 75% misses, switch it. I talk more about it in comments under some other episode. Or you could find more info in Steam forums. The point is reloading a save will always give the same result.
@@Eagles_Eye In high Road or Fallen Angel? Tree hugging will not stop him from having a turn (and alerting people) only from moving (and therefor healing people) . In High Road you have to kill him last. In Fallen Angel use Hog Rush to stop the medbot. You can pass by without alerting anyone. No point in fighting them since there's nothing important there... only the exp.
