It's tragic how far Hip Hop has fallen
Agreed!😊
This shit was weak as fuck too
In your dream
Sad case

"Don't let a win get to your head, or a loss to your heart". thats a lot of wisdom
It's what parents showed be teaching their children these days instead of handing out participation trophies.

Long live chuck D!
That's how we grew up.
Frfr
Chuck D is one of hip hop's best storytellers

Tanya Galitan Welcome to the Terror Dome
a rapper in san antonio tx made this song and got it jacked from him by the PE producer.
+cnote027 swear wat rapper, I wana peep it 210 on top
Political n Folk Rock mix
This joint never gets old.
+Bryan H. Realness. It never dies.
I was just thinking that..1 year after you
Bryan H. still not old haha
this blunt never gets old
I just watched the movie last night
Why can't society today just listen to what Chuck and Flav are saying.
This is what hip-hop should be about. Something with an actual message. This is why I love these guys.
Nowadays its all about asses and butts
&&& don't 4Get about the bling & bullets😔
This song brings tears to my eyes every time I listen to it. Its a damn shame we as a society would rather hear about money cars and drug dealing than a conscious moral message. Chuck D will go down as one of the GOATs simply because in a time where where they could have easily sold out and bought in to the gangsta rap scene but PE stuck to their guns and Chuck D flat refuses to propagate negativity in his art.
Now we have DRUG ADDICTS by LIL PUMP ...go ahead and watch the video if you wanna feel sad for the state of music
Hell yea
He used his gangster side to produce ice cube
well said
Nothing in life matters so people just like to have fun
Damn this still sounds so good in my headphones in 2024!
You need to listen to the LP version where Flav breaks it down at the end... ""Are you ready for the real revolution, which is the evolution of the mind. If you seek, then you will find, that we all come from the divine."
Yeah the lp version rules because if flav’s break down, but I have to watch this sometimes because that version cuts the third verse off. I wish there was a version with both

Buffalo Springfield "For what it's Worth" sample - Steven Stills on guitar! #Dope sample , classic track!!
+Kevin Bernstein Preach!
Kevin Bernstein yep
He 7
Not a sample. Stephen Stills actually played guitar and sang on it.
I believe this song is one of the most respected hip hop songs of all time. I have loved this song since it came out in 1998. It is hard to find new music that is even close to being as good as this. Keep it up P.E. 😊
Word.
I cannot argue that. I've always
found it to be a thought provoking song that perhaps more people need exposure to
I agree, this is one of the best rap songs ever. My dad is a harsh rap hater(im 40 hes 64) I played this song for him, and told him to listen to the lyrics. Blew his mind, he asked for a copy of it.
I wanna to point out that Public Enemy were one of posee who had open the golden age Era of hip hop, and By then one the group to close this golden Era with this Hit. the final years
I said almost exactly the same thing
When Stephen stills makes his appearance I get goosebumps
He's not as beautiful but more relevant than ever! Thanks, PE for keeping "For What It's Worth" in the public's eye.
Yeah man, not only to sample an amazing song but to get the original artist on board is something beautiful
Congratulations to Ray Allen on his retirement today! He Got Game
Ray Allen had mad game
Never gets a Oscar...cause Song offers the Real Truth !
Chuck d was a straight poet
he still is
back when rap was the greatest... even Stephen Stills jumped in for this one! ;d
This was a great song by Buffalo Springfield. Beautifully blended with hip hop by Public Enemy. Great music has no boundaries. Recognize and appreciate art
Speak the truth, brother. This track transcends time and dimensions, what's genre got on it?
Who do you think Stephen Stills is?
Chuck D is Spittin, and Terminator X is Spinnin.
You have no idea how much I love this song.
Today! You have no idea how much I love this song.!
Same
Its what happens when someone wise beyond their years makes an older and wiser track lol
Like LIES buried in a LIBRARY! Damn that's deep.LISTEN to the lyrics people.
I saw this movie in the theater with my best friend in High School. We were so into playing basketball, at school, tournaments etc. It was a great time for me. Unfortunately, my friend killed himself in 2007. Anytime I hear this song it makes me think of him and brings back all the great memories I have of him and all the fun we used to have. He was a GREAT basketball player and could have been something! I miss him so much! R.I.P Anthony Giglio!
Mate sorry to read this, you were lucky to have Anthony and he was lucky to have you. Be good to yourself
Damn bro that’s sad 😥
Blessings my brother
Sorry for your loss bru
In a tragic situation it's still good to have memories like that with a great song and music. Blessings brother...i feel ya
it's biblical, man
I was a dumb kid when I was younger because I didn’t appreciate this .. This sounds HELLA good in 2024
Happy 25th Anniversary to one of the greatest songs of all-time. (April 28, 1998) 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

" What's love got to do with what you got?
Don't let a win get to your head
Or a loss to your heart."
That might just be one of my favorite lyrics ever. PE, definitely one of the best in the game.
underrated movie underrated soundtrack
I don't see it underrated, it gets love, I paid for it
Think about it. ALL SPIKE LEE JOINTS gets HATED ON, Because he never will sell out in the industry. All his movies are too real and too blunt for the world. Then he puts public enemy on the he got game soundtrack because they are what was left of hip-hop to him to what was real besides big and pac
@@jamerebess5454 facts
Public Enemy did the whole score to the He Got Game movie soundtrack
agree
Love Public Enemy! One of their hardest cuts they ever made. With Buffalo Springfield in background, and in one of Spike Lee's best movies. Public Enemy #1!
Agreed
Boy, PE and Chuck do not get enough credit! These guys took rap to another level!!!
Props to Chuck D, Flavor, Professor Griff, Terminator X... Fight the Power
Lol - they get a lot of credit by those who know man.
And don't forget Stephen Stills ❤❤❤❤
Man hip-hop will never be this good
This track should be featured on the NBA2K soundtrack
I think it will be on NBA 2k25
I agree with you ok 💯
2024 still very relevant, true definition of a classic.
This version has an extra verse I'd never heard before!
I was just noticing that! It doesn't have Flavor's bit after Stephen's part "I don't think they heard you Stephen, kick it to 'em again one more time.."
This is the video version - the album version doesn't include the extra verse.
One note and you know it's Stephen Stills and it's THAT song. One note. You want to talk about game?!?
2023 and I’m back here again. Can never get over this tune. The feeling of nostalgia and the consciousness of the song gets me feeling super pumped
Real hip hop my god
Always listened to this as a kid and the older I get the more the lyrics resonate. They were dropping real fkin knowledge
Yes sir
Born in 85, and from a boy to a man and finally a father, and this song a representative of several periods in my life. With several different meanings
Thanks for the memories, Ray Allen!
Awesome Stephen Stills made a cameo in this video. Great collaboration.
55 yrs old, Today was the first time hearing this... Damn!
Amazing! Thanx Pandora...
don't let a win go to your head or a lose to your heart that's a tight line
If u don't love this song u don't got game
Shout out to Creadence Clearwater Revival
I love this classic hip hop music from public enemy for sure and life
@@abefroman8821 the original is actually Buffalo Springfield. They didn't hit it nearly as big as CCR but For What It's Worth is a classic.
@@lunaticfringe2763 your right and I knew that, why the hell did i write CCR?
Who got game?
Still quite affecting after all these years. Even the cameo by Stephen Stills is surprisingly good.
way underrated
this is like the only comment section on TH-cam without hate
+Beerus - God of Destruction I completely agree. And it's very nice for a change.
Beerus - God of Destruction its because we all got game
shut up
lol jokes
Peace, Love, Unity. Having fun my friend. But you should always beware of Channel Zero.
Isn't that music "For What It's Worth" by Buffalo Springfield?
+Bruce Wayne yes it is
no
thats Stephen Stills with the guitar in the video
Actually, it is.
Miller you mind adding some content it squares the arena up a bit. No choice in this I'm £) All Day.
WHATS LOVE GOT TO DO WITH WHAT YOU GOT 🔥🔥💯
Ice cold lyrics...
"Don't let a win get to your head or a loss to your heart!" Love that
Public Enemy and Steven Stills? It doesn't get any better than that!
A spike lee joint
2022 almost and still rockin this joint. Underrated

It's 4 Real The Year 2024?
Yep! ☘️💜✊🏼✨🔥🎶🎤
This is the message we need to hear RIGHT NOW.
brother, we are living in crazy times, it's just sad that so much hate exist. We are passengers stranded on this rock we call earth together ; we all were born and found it here, it's here for all of us to enjoy. Humans are the worst thing that ever happened to the universe.

And yet they kicked out Flavor Flav from the group because he was a Trump supporter.
You can't have an opinion in modern day society. They decide that for you. If you go against it, you will will be at the mercy of those in charge and it will cost you dearly if you don't agree with the main stream masses.
@@bad74maverick1 Just shows they walk the walk IMO. Have all the shitty opinions you want, doesn't mean people have to work with you.
@@milesparker3263 Opinions are just that, opinions. Just because you disagree with it you shouldn't be silenced, hated on or treated horribly to the point of threatening people. You can and should disagree with it if it's not what you believe in. Problem is in modern day society if your opinion doesn't fit the narrative, you ARE hated, called names, threatened, lose your job ect. "walking the walk" shouldn't be silencing someone because of their opinion being different from yours. That's what fascists do, silence those who don't think like they do.
If you want to support that behavior that's fine, that's why our society is becoming the way it is. I do not support it.
This is my first time hearing this masterpiece! I'm giving it 12 out of 10 stars.
This song tells The truth. Chuck D is the GOAT. Much respect.
lyrical genius chuck D
I always loved the beat to this track.
Buffalo Springfield - For What It's Worth
+Mkaboose what?? pssshhh yeah because i always hear producers say "we need a rhythm to sample".... you obviously are being way too technical.... a beat is the music, like "that beat is dope" or "gimme a beat"..... go back to teaching your middle school band class, teacher. smh
largec it's buffalo Springfield
I misread that as “beat it to this track” but no, turns out I’m still alone.
Me too
No gang bs, no threats, and no ridiculous uncalled for cussing. It’s just music that is straight to the point with a message. This is a song we could all stand to hear.
Jamming this on a discman walking to school ,the feeling of that is indescribable
real hip hop before it died 🙌
Had to sit 25 years to see this again😂
This song will never gets old
☝️
I heard this song for the first time while deep into an acid trip. The impact hit me like a sledge hammer. It changed me forever.
I bet that was cool. I bet it sounded so awesome. Touch your soul
How prophetic was this song for back then...damn
This song, twenty years later, shows me just how good America is at NOT CHANGING.
Times aint changes, just new faces.
There have been a few changes since this song and movie. Minorities have better themselves more since then. Pay attention to positive stuff 2.
Old School Hip Hop always had amazing samples. This one has “For What it’s worth” by Buffalo Springfield as a sample and even features Stephen Stills, who was a member or Buffalo Springfield in the video singing the song!
I worked at a movie theater in 1998 when this movie was out. I remember cleaning up the theater while this song was playing during the ending credits. I was a senior in high school at that time, so I could relate to some of the things going on in the movie. I can't believe 20 years have gone by.
David R what does these lyrics even mean?
"He Got Game"
Public Enemy
Icon ('98)
I'm not usually a fan of one group doing an entire soundtrack for a movie, but public enemy killed this record. Every song is awesome. Highly recommended
Spike Lee usually does it like that.
"We all got game"
Me and my homie are both 26 now. I grew up with my homie between the ages of 6 and 17 years old.
when we where kids we used to play basket ball a lot, my homie was better of course, many memories.
As I'm watching this video now, I seeing the part when Denzel Washington is shooting hoops in prison, got me tearing up.
Fuck it, thinking about my homie now in prison doing 80 years for murder because of this gang Banging shit.....
He still got game I bet.
Marco Martinez stay up big homie
Damn that's hard bro.
I'm gonna be 26 next month but I guess you are older now lmao
Too bad your friend did it but I guess his own choices got him where he is

Simple beats reflect all aspects of life, returning to the most primitive state and original intention
This is why I love hip hop so much
More relevant today then ever ...
It's surprising that this song has so little views. It deserves so much more with the meaning, and understanding that you can relate to in the world we live in. At least, the ones who had it hard growing up.
This song is timeless and is my current mood for 2021❣️ 🥳 ✨ 🥰
2022 VISION 👍👍👍 THE GOV. IS FULL OF THE LYING GAME 🤔
I was surprised as fuck when Stephen Stills popped up, cuz that's straight up respect.
I always love P.E. Even though they're technically hip hop, I think they're one of the best rock bands ever. Loud and proud, speaking truth to the crowd.
When Public Enemy are on the Mic the SERMON Begins & Audiences get Gemstones of Wisdom 🎤 LISTEN.
You're a real hip hop head when you still listening to this in 2022!!!!!
We are the Game
good message and buffalo springfield was the cherry on top
Eternally relevant. 🤜💥🤛
2021 and this song definitely applies. Keep the faith y'all. ✌️
Dee the man !!!
old song with a message that is always current
I love how this song is adressing social issues that are important, and all anyone can think about is how great Chuck D is.
This song should have gotten more publicity. It's a song for the current times
big facts. truth always finds its way to the right people, and then we need to do the rest!
Chuck D has never once stopped to take a breath since PE broke out long ago with only real truth, and he’s truly never stopped. Love Chuck D for taking hold of the spirit and heart of what fuels necessary revolution: passionate dedication to justice for every being, never afraid to be angry with his full heart, to tell stories that must never be lost. A powerful revolution is waiting for us to move. To reject hate. Embrace integrity. Refuse division. Refuse the hate. He’s carried the bright torch through it all. Praise&Love
Rock this all day!!!
2023 and the lyrics hit even harder now.
"God takes care of all the folks and fools while devil takes care and makes all the rules "
These words make perfect sence when you apply them to the last 3 years of tyranny we went are are still experiencing! One of my favourite songs i remember from the past. Good luck and get right with god my friends.
The power of rhyme.
Chuck D Always Speaks the Truth
If only we knew what we had back then. Bet we wouldn't have taken it for granted. RIP Hiphop 😪
I workout to this song.
When life was much simpler.....Flava Flav!!!
movie was about the loosely-based life of Stephon Marbury growing up in Coney Island, Brooklyn and being highly recruited out of Lincoln H.S.; not to mention one of the schools in the movie was Tech U and Marbury went to Georgia Tech.
I love this song such strong lyrics and deep insightfulness, phenomenal beat and hook. Perfect song can listen over and over.
The sound is a loop😂😂😂
They aren’t rapping about getting bitches, doing drugs, shooting people, fucking people over. They are singing about the crisis in the world and how shit is, and they are rapping about God and to not let anyone take your love away. This is where it will always be at.
Facts !
I met Public Enemy's drummer a few years ago and I met Stephen Stills too.
like lies buried in a library. damn
my favorite line
Frankiekuchez1 ... so they buried lies in the library? can we not educate ourselves? I wonder what lies, lye in China then? or Russia?
