The didn't merger with case lol ih went of business because they were out of money and case bought what was left and then ironically the same thing happened 15 years later when case "merged" with new Holland even though it was announced four months before new Holland was buying case because case was going to go out of business also. IH is death to companies
I work in the factory that builds these... Well, I keep the computers running. I'm their IT guy. Pretty neat actually seeing these things doing their job, I only ever see them getting built and driving out of the factory.

I still don't see how they put that much corn through the machine that fast. Course we stopped farming when a JD 4400 was a popular combine..... My question is , and only because my dad was paranoid about it, is how much corn do you leave in the field running like that? I mean around here I've seen fields that have been cut that look like they were replanted right after there was so much left on the ground.

If they hold a little over 400 bushels and they're in 200 bushel/acre corn, does that mean they're full in a little over 2 acres of harvest? If so, you need a fleet of wagons constantly servicing these monsters since they appear to cut an acre in no time.
This farm runs three 1,000 bushel grain carts to keep two 9240s moving with 16 row corn heads moving in the field and 8 1,000 bushel semi trucks to haul the corn away.
I could get you a few pics when we use it bc my family is not a big farm so we have like allis chalmers b and a farmmal m and then a few massey Fergusons
I have an old super h, m, Oliver pull type combine, mounted corn picker, 24t square baler, ih 100 balanced head mower, 59 Chevy apache grain truck, John Deere model b grain drill, and a 2 row ih 240 corn planter.
@@bigtractorpower my neighbor had a two row picker mounted on a Farmall M. I showed him how to resurface the picker rolls so he didn't have to replace them then in his inimitable fashion,... I ended up doing them for him... glad there wasn't any white wash around, heck of a thing when you cover up your face to earn a living. Anyway thanks for posting I've enjoyed these videos brings back some good memories.

I am curious as to why the grain cart driver does a big loop to unload the trailing combine after unloading the one in front instead of just stopping and waiting for it to catch up? I understand it's further to the right but just seems like wasted energy to me?
The S790 is a bit smaller on specs. S790 is 543 hp, 400 bu. and unloads 3.8 bu per sec 9240 is 550 hp, 410 bu. and unloads 4.5 bu per sec. The 9240 will up and move a bunch of corn. Can’t wait to see the 9250 in 2019.

I have been a fan since they were McCormick implements! Then IH, and then merged with Case! It's still RED POWER for me!

two different tractors and carts first was a 470 row second was 620 quad
