- Hi! Welcome back. I purchased five Daniel Smith watercolors for inclusion in my main palette for 2024. Not exactly sure where they will fit, so having a quick swatch of them here ahead of building a refreshed palette. The colors swatched here are:
Quinacridone Burnt Scarlet
Nickel Azo Yellow
Rich Green Gold
Lunar Blue
Payne's Gray

Absolutely ❤ green golds and chartreuse!!! This is excellent to hear I have some perylenes waiting in the wings! W&N Perylene Green is a favorite- not sure I’ve ever mixed it with green gold. I’ll have to try it!
That sounds like a wonderful mix that I'll try myself. Thank you. 😊 I like Burnt Scarlet, too, but PO48 is another that really creates a warm and cozy vibe for me. 😍
I haven't met too many colors I didn't like. 😂 I particularly like green golds and chartreuse mixes. They pair well with perylene violet, deep purple ochre, or a bordeaux. 😍 Loved your mixes.
Thanks for sharing!!
Yummies! I love those couple *kissing* 🥳 (and what's a "fugitive"?)
Lol the kissing couples! Good question! Fugitive just means they aren’t lightfast and will fade or change over time, particularly when exposed to UV rays. Not so much an issue for sketchbook work, but exposed finished pieces- it’s a pity to lose your work! 😉
A pallet after my own heart 😂
Oh! Do you use these? These were purchased to fill gaps in a larger palette, but they are quite nice on their own! Not used them properly yet. Thanks for watching!
@@context_curatedHello! No, I don’t use Daniel Smith, but the colour and pigment choices are similar to what I would use in my “ideal” palette.
