After about 3 years of using my Bose headphones, the material of the ear cushions started to peel off.
I was very sad because the headphones had always worked so well for me.
When I originally picked them up in Japan, I would always use them at the university for training with the language software, or when I was on international flights from Europe to Asia.
Then, the material was starting to fall apart, I was putting off the repair and started to use my other Sennheiser headphones instead.
Unfortunately the same happened to them as well, now I was upset!
How come all headphones seem to have the same issue? Was it intentional?
In any case, I needed a pair that I could use. I started to look at the "ear cushion replacement” option again, better than buying a new set I thought.
Finally, I took the plunge, bought the replacement kit, and after listing to my Bose headphones again, I totally forgot how good they sounded.
They are lightweight, sound great, and are exceedingly comfortable compared to my other headphones.
Remember, it seems the AE2's are not manufactured anymore. It may be wise to buy some replacement part sooner than later.
I am very happy with my purchase of the original replacement kit.
