Wow turn speed looks so much improved. I'm actually kinda floored on that. I've noticed most turns of v12 still had a weird slowdown or hard break at the start. Also looks like better turn lane ingress speed. I'm not even mad at the parking loop. I think the sub-destinations would be cool, hope with Holiday update.
Did it not park in the parking spots and just stopped at the door because it knew that that wasn't your final destination? I wonder if, for these early builds at least, the system doesn't do auto parking unless it's the last navigation stop on your route
No, it currently can't use summon on multi-floor parking garages. I went to my local mall to test, but it treats it as if it is just one floor and will only go to the outer edges of the same floor it's on. Occasionally, it would accidentally go down one of the ramps, but it was pure chance the majority of the time.
As stated in the release note "Support for destination options including pulling over, parking in a spot, driveway, or garage" is featured in UPCOMING IMPROVEMENTS.
I think the problem here was the snow. I watched two other videos testing V13 and both parked in a parking spot... well one took a slice of a second spot but it did park there. The other video parked perfectly in the spot. So V13 is parking when it can. Really nice.

Yeah, when it had the old (autopilot) car length options I would use 7s spacing but noticed in winter driving I'd need to double that (not possible since 7 was the max) to feel safe since conditions suck and I never trust other drivers.

I agree with not purchasing it instead subscribe because in 6.7 years the car will be outdated technology my 22 model 3 seems outdated compared to the refresh autopilot is much more confident on hardware 4
My concern is with how it will manage bad winter weather. You were driving around with a little snow on the ground, and while the roads are clear, they appear wet. That increases the chance of black ice, yet FSD appears to be traveling up to the speed limit posted throughout, which is not safe it you hit a patch of black ice. Also, I am very interested to see how it handles cameras that are negatively affected by the weather. In the current version of FSD, I can’t use a A.S.S. when it’s raining, because I get an error message due to the rain interfering with the ability of the camera to see. That pretty much defeats the purpose of that feature as the majority of the times I will want to use that is when it’s raining out, or snowing. I hope version 13 is able to address that issue. Otherwise, this software is making great progress, and seems to be very close to being unsupervised.
I would never use fsd in bad or slippery conditions. If it starts losing control, by the time you take back control you will be in a ditch somewhere. Also i disangage the regen or put it at the lowest setting because it could be just enough to lock your wheel and lose control. But if you have dual motors it will help a lot. FSD doesnt feel the road like we do, it just sees it. So if its bad out it will just go slower but will start slowing down at the same distance for a stop sign wheather its slippery or not. I love my fsd but i love leaving more.
I heard Tesla has very good traction control that can detect the slightest tire slip and adjust the power output accordingly. Self driving mode should still have that.

YESSSS (As someone who is thinking about buying FSD but is not an owner, what would you say would be a good time to buy a month of FSD hoping for v13 on an AI4 vehicle?)
If you are in the open highway, does it go to the max speed at what you have set? On the v12 version I have, if I have it set to 80, it will go slower than that even if no one is in front of me and on hurry mode.
That it recognized it would be in a loop and parked instead is actually extremely impressive. This particular problem is theoretically unsolvable according to Turing so the fact it assessed that was likely the case and took action is impressive.
Just wanted to say congratulations on your TH-cam success. I've been there since the early days and love what you do. It's one of the only Tesla FSD videos I watch besides sometimes "Black Tesla".
The parking spot thing isn’t an issue bc it thinks it’s dropping you off. They should add a feature where you tell it “go park yourself” and it finds a legal parking spot to wait at
Hi Chris, Thank you for the video! On my car running version 12.5.6.3, I consistently encounter two issues: 1. Left Turns with Multiple Turn Lanes: When making a left turn at an intersection with multiple designated left-turn lanes, if the far-left lane is empty and I turn from the second lane, the car crosses the dividing line during the turn and finishes in the far-left lane instead of staying in the second lane. 2. Pocket Turn Issues: When making a right or left turn at intersections where there is an additional turn pocket before my intended turn, the car mistakenly enters the pocket and then violates the rules as it tries to exit the pocket and realign for the turn. Could you test these scenarios? Thanks in advance!
Anyone have any idea when it will actually be available for everyone that has a Tesla?? Does it normally take a while before it's available for everyone?
When turning into two of your parking spot lots fsd turned over a double solid line the first time and over a single solid line the second time. It appeared you worked harder intervening than you have driving manually.

How does the car drive on snow and icy roads with v13? I cant tell from watching the video and would like to hear some about it in the audio commentary in the future. Good drive. Parking behavior is not as good as I would have liked, but it’s a start. I really appreciate you testing at night with slightly snowy.wet conditions.
I agree, nowhere near close enough to pay $8,000 unless you have money to burn. My wife is is the determinant of whether it’s worth buying yet. Each time she rides in my Tesla after a new software update she will say “not ready for prime time”. Hi When I drive at night I have very often experienced drastic Phantom Braking because of blinding light from oncoming cars ...Has this happened to you on country roads ?
I wonder how much the snow covered parking spots and/or wet pavement with lots of nighttime reflections impacted FSD’s reluctance to identify a marked parking spot?
Imagine you ordered a robotaxi and it's just driving around your location until it decides, hey, my battery is low, I need to get out of here. That will be fun ))
I'm curious how FSD will choose a parking spot without the pin being directly over a spot (closest? random?). Also will there be a handicapped mode (I know most of the time this wouldn't be necessary if ASS works with FSD but if there are no spots then it could be useful). Thanks again for the late-night upload
I wonder if you dropping a pin is the issue that is making it not park. Maybe the software leverages the Google maps data to understand that it is driving to a business that should have parking to look for. But if you just give it an address by dropping a pin it might be assuming residential logic to just park at a curb
Would have been interested to know if the additional nav stops for the trip affected whether or not the car chose to park. Presumably your first drive was one where you just put in one destination.
I'm so excited by this v13, and also the upcoming features list, can't wait to try out on my CT! :D Latest v12 has been working great for me, but plenty of room for improvement. One thing is I feel like it hugs the center lane line, or tends to veer too far to the left, oddly enough, hope that is fixed in v13. Oh and also how it brakes pretty late sometimes (scary!)
My Model Y would always stutter at the blinking yellow on the highway near our house like it was assuming it was about to turn red each time. go-slow-go-slow-go-slow. Pretty weird.
Very disappointing that most of us HW3 must work with 12.5.4.2. I did get my first alert - facial monitoring not possible because of dark cabin. The FSD reversed to steering nudging until I opened one of the reading lights. I think a retrofit is inevitable to AI4. Tesla is nagging me to get a 2024 Y but Canadian Tesla deals are only 1K$ US on Model Y.
If one of the features is to use the on-board mic to listen for emergency vehicles, what happens if you play a looping emergency vehicle sound on speakers? Would it move or pull over?
I think you needed to click “Continue Trip” instead of editing the trip in order for FSD to pick up the navigation
You're right. The other times it cleared the current destination. Thanks.

@DirtyTesla - Disappointed that it turned left from your parking spot in the right lane at 1:55.
Why the stop sign @14:40 is not legal?
The last update of FSD likes to apply the brakes too late sometimes so it would be hard for me to trust it in the snow if that hasn’t changed in 13
I'm curious how FSD will choose a parking spot without the pin being directly over a spot (closest? random?). Also will there be a handicapped mode (I know most of the time this wouldn't be necessary if ASS works with FSD but if there are no spots then it could be useful). Thanks again for the late-night upload
How does it handle a drive thru? 🤔
Could all the snow on the ground be an issue with finding parking spot
5:20 "continue trip" needed to be pressed at the top of the screen....
Yes. On the other destinations, it cleared it itself after going into park.
@@DirtyTesla that's weird
Is the speed issues on v12 gone with this version?
We love seeing this unfold with you .... Australia is Watching ! Thx Chris
Thank you as always. Keep up the unbiased reviews.
When will FSD work for drivethroughs?
I'm so excited by this v13, and also the upcoming features list, can't wait to try out on my CT! :D Latest v12 has been working great for me, but plenty of room for improvement. One thing is I feel like it hugs the center lane line, or tends to veer too far to the left, oddly enough, hope that is fixed in v13. Oh and also how it brakes pretty late sometimes (scary!)
My Model Y would always stutter at the blinking yellow on the highway near our house like it was assuming it was about to turn red each time. go-slow-go-slow-go-slow. Pretty weird.
Excited for more superhuman moments in my model s :)
What do you think about this vs Waymo?
Very disappointing that most of us HW3 must work with 12.5.4.2. I did get my first alert - facial monitoring not possible because of dark cabin. The FSD reversed to steering nudging until I opened one of the reading lights. I think a retrofit is inevitable to AI4. Tesla is nagging me to get a 2024 Y but Canadian Tesla deals are only 1K$ US on Model Y.
You have a 2023 M3 with AI4?
Model Y
If one of the features is to use the on-board mic to listen for emergency vehicles, what happens if you play a looping emergency vehicle sound on speakers? Would it move or pull over?
Thanks for the quick update!
Kinda disappointing with the parkinglot situations/lack of 3 point turns. Hopefully the point releases come out fast
