This is why mk8 is doomed and the status of BEING A RACING GAME doesn’t exist anymore. Its not a RACING GAME anymore online, NOW ITS A CHEAP WAIT UNTIL THE END SIMULATOR. THEY GOTTA NERF IT MORE IN THE NEXT GAME. In the next game it should be if you get caught driving backwards for more than 5 seconds, Slowing down intentionally for more than 5 seconds, being too far away from 2nd to last/the rest of the pack, Getting 15+ op items, any of these occuring 2-3 times per session should make you banned for a day and caught again adds 5 days, until the 5th ban should permanently ban you from online.
The thing about bagging is that this is the most extreme example. A lot of the time, bagging is just getting two items from the box. The way Hydreix bags is the fun but kinda extreme way, while when many people say bagging they mean stopping for about half a second to get one more item. Bagging isn't actually bad for the game, as it's been nerfed so you can't do the most degenerate way of bagging anymore (which was when the entire lobby is waiting at the first set in Snow Land).

31:25 - Finally got that shock dodge that was overdue this whole video. That one race you had 5 Stars in a row and no shock definitely overdue. You're using my favorite Yoshi color, also Yoshi is my favorite Mario chacter, so happy he's the best in the game as are a lot of people :) But I'm also part of the Teddy Buggy Hate Club, Mr. Scooty is the way to go! Biddy Buggy was my favorite in MK8 Wii U I mained Light Blue Yoshi, Cyber Slicks, Wario Glider, and Biddy Buggy, so besides the wheels and glider now it's all Meta these days
5:58 - There's a good bill extension on ribbon road. You'll want to use the bill on the boost ramp just before the blue wavy road section. It'll take you all the way into the glider. Once you land off the glider, use your second item (shrooms, star, ect...) to take the final shortcut before the finish line. Great way to pass a bunch of people very quickly.
The DK Mountain race hurt my soul lol and that boo on Hyrule really had perfect timing to ruin your day, I was whispering to myself “please use the star right now.”
I prefer running normal and when I got hit by too much items, I start to bagging, getting decent places and enjoying the bagging items, good video and keep it up 👍.
Pro tip: moving boxes like on shroom ridge/piranha plant slide aren’t affected by the nerf patch so you kind of missed some opportunities to farm better items.
Just fyi, I can confirm that the bullet bill can actually take the ending shortcut on shroom ridge without any shrooms! Just hop of the grass, use the bill and it will fly through the airstream and make the shortcut without issues. I have only tried it twice or maybe thrice, but I always made it
personally i think bagging can work on just any track if you're lucky with the item pulls and use them right. at least you can make it up to a middlespot most of the time so you're not loosing to much vr
In my opinion since you were going into this with the plan of only bagging, I think you should have used a higher speed combo since they're a lot better with power items
It REALLY bugs me when you get 3 items at the first set when bagging even though they specifically patched the game to make your 3rd item from a set bad.
