Thanks for going through the effort to make this. Just got my RM2 today and trying to figure out how to best set it up for what I need. This helps tremendously!
In you video you state, "available for Windows, Linux and Mac" but when I follow the links, it's only available for Windows. Does anyone know of an easy tool for Mac? I know I can use ssh to list, and scp to move files. But I need to know where to put the custom templates. I've not yet found anyone who's posted on the file directory structure. BTW another page lists 1404 x 1842 size for the screen.
Did you ever find a solution for this? I'm still on the hunt and think it's unfair that we have to pay for software like einktools when we've already paid over £400 for the tablet in the first place
The software works great and is a god send for my workflow. Bought it, so that I could make as many templates as needed. Thank you for this easy to follow tutorial and for taking the time to create the software 😊
Great video tutorial. Thanks. I followed your instructions and was able to quickly create, upload, and use custom templates from a .png file. However, when I sync these to the reMarkable desktop app, the template background is missing- only the writing appears. What did I do wrong?
This is a good video, well done. Only thing is - the reMarkable and an iPad are two different animals. Sure, do your work with an iPad. But the rM is used for "distraction free" thinking (and drawing). Even though the conclusion is "use an iPad (app) for architectural drawings", I bet the architect here still HAS a rM, both for sketching and other things. It totally replaces all the sketch pads.
I think that recent updates bringing basic geometry and functions tell us, that the hardware is capable of more. Distraction-free is a term I personally dislike as it's a poor man's version for "lacking". I'd never want RM to be an iPad, but we gotta admit, inability to draw a straight line or make a custom template was a serious hindrance which can't be explained by distraction free ideology :)
Question. Can you create new pages like the pre-installed templates? Meaning if I upload a template and it is a single image will the add page or swipe right feature work so more pages will be added?
This was never a thing. I suggested this in the video as I had seen corresponding folders, but never checked for installers and the dev never completed the work on other OSs
