Feels so good to get my first service done on my Lambo Diavel! Bike feels fantastic now and I can't freaking wait to install the termi exhaust next! What other mods would you like to see on my lambo diavel?
I've seen oil changes on TH-cam before but none of them are as thorough as Dado's. And he explains everything. What I mean is many mechanics will go from experience when it comes to tightening bolts. Dado always uses a torque wrench.
I agree. I share the same expectation of perfection as Dado. I rebuilt a super clapped rm75 for my son a few years ago. It was a project for us to work on together. We ended up taking the entire mx bike apart and did a frame up restoration. I’m also a torque nut on important fasteners but go by.experience and feel for many other items. . Fantastic work Dado.
Thanks for the kind words guys! If you read some of the Ducati training manuals there are 2 steps to fasteners. 1. Add 4lbs of red loctite 2. Torque everythibg to 285 ft lbs All jokes aside I would rather have a well put together and tight motorcycle instead of having it rattle loose all over the highway.... (ahem Harley)
Just passed my bike test (UK) and on the back of this video I’ve ordered the chain brush, cleaner, and the Motul chain lube ✌️Now I just need the wheel mount and I’m good to go. Thanks for filming the service. As a new rider it was helpful to see what’s done and what I can do to keep the bike nice myself.
I always tilt my bike from side to side to get the oil out . Learned that by accident lol. Love the copper color of your wheels and frame. WD 40 makes a great wheel cleaner BTW.
I can see having a Zero DSR Blackforest for running errands, light shopping and food runs, especially in a more urban environment, maybe also for commuting. But for regular riding and track days, not so much.
I hope electric motorbikes never become a thing. Perhaps in cities i can see the benefits but , i just Love the sound and mechanical noise from a gas powered engine , also electric motorbikes usually don't require shifting as they only have one gear and that just takes another element out of the fun from riding. That's just my 2 cents on the whole thing
To see the talented Dado spin that in the wrong direction was comforting. I hv a loose “bolt and nut” next me when I do any work on my bike just to be sure which is tighten/loosen. It may seem dumb, but I’d rather make sure of things before making a costly dumb mistake. Works for me as I rarely turn wrench’s so it’s not second nature to me.
wooohh.. nice progress broo... last time i've watch you is when you surprise your by giving his dreams bike.. at those time your subscriber is around 50k plus, but now look at that its 6 digits now soon to 7.. ride safe always bro.. fan from Philippines here..
Nasty looking oil that came out! Beautiful looking bike for sure and must be a blast to ride. I'm partial to some other Italian ladies (Moto Guzzi, MV Agusta) but a Ducati sure is easy on the eyes, as well!
As always....Kudos to Dado's wrenchin' skillz. Another little (maybe) helpful idea...if you spray (on the rag) and wipe your wheels down with Pledge furniture polish, it helps repel grease and dust and makes cleaning them and keeping them clean a little easier. Especially the front with the brake dust on this bike. I don't think I'd do that on Carbon Fiber wheels, though.
Im lookin to purchase a newish sportbike very soon! Ive been in the hospital since 8/26 dealin with covid. Ive been riding over 20yrs. Watchin you vids has helped me decide to make a purchase. Im not a crazy rider. Have had harleys and triumphs. After dealing with some life issues i want to enjoy things again and not be so serious. I may try and start a youtube channel for some fun.
Jaret --been watching your vids for awhile now...you are so lucky dude! You get to drive and ride around in these gorgeous pieces of machinery and I drive a car from 1996, lol. Being on Disability it's actually fun watching you have so much fun with all of these awesome cars and bikes. Keep these fantastic vids coming man!
This is the most dramatized oil change ive ever seen, cant expect less from a Ducati owner, ill bill you for my eye surgery for resetting them after being rolled so hard.
Really like the original setup of Lamborghini Ducati. Termignoni I guess the best upgrade for that bike. Dado can I bring my bike service 🤔 . He did an excellent job.
I like to go by feel to on the chain to, then i started having trouble with the quick shifter,i had to tighten it to Ducati spec witch i think is too tight, but it made the quick shifter start working right again like the dealer said.
Thanks for the tip about using the Flex Funnel when taking off the oil filter. I've been using foil for years but that seems like a much better approach.
I know an electric will never be a giveaway or for you personally, but would still be interesting having you test one just to get your thoughts on how they ride and performance. To bes honest I'd rather see you on an Energica than a Zero though.
I am a huge EV believer for the cars but can't see it with motorcycle's. I used drive my bosses leaf. Motorcycle's too small for the battery size to be practical, and practicality that ICE offers. Not just space but weight. Also manufacturer lockouts become more serious of an issue, at least on Zero motorcycle. 1/5 Better Business Bureau rating and as anti right to repair as a company could get. They lock you out for tampering with anything similarly to Tesla. Hopefully Energica doesn't pull that crap
You have both the Diavel and Panigale, between the two which one you find yourself wanting to ride more, and is more fun? Is there anything you like about one bike vs the other more?
I'd be interested to see what you think of the Zero. Can't wait for the Termignoni exhaust video. Just coming off the throttle in 2nd sounds awesome on my Diavel.
Which manufacturer recommends pre-filling the oil filter? (none, because it presents an opportunity to introduce contaminants to the post-filter side of the oiling system)
Another great video ! Quick question Jaret - how is the gold undertray holding up ? I fitted the Ducati red undertray to my bike and it stone chips like crazy. If you haven’t already, I recommend fitting PPF ! As for the list of mods, there are loads to choose from but please, don’t change the wheels !
Where do you have your Diavel serviced at? I’m having an issue with my 2012 ABS. Thought the hands free module took a crap and bought a genuine Ducati replacement off eBay and now neither of my dashes even light up
I need help drastically at this point, but don’t really want to pay $125-$150/hour for Ducati to figure what the deal is. On top of that I already contacted the certified Ducati dealer in philly and Maryland and were both booked for over 2-3 months
Never use Teflon tape,. If it gets sucked by oil pump you're in trouble. If anything,. Just replace Oring or bonded washer. What ever works with your plug. Just my idea in the matter. Not saying it's gosbil
Good vid, useful info. Only thing that I was told different was if you ride a bike hard from new u should do an oil and filter change at 150miles instead of waiting for 600. Also will it devalue the bike not having the first "official" service done by Ducati? (manufacturer service stamp)
Had a friend that just died from a motorcycle accident on the freeway. A guy didn't tie down equipment in the back of his truck properly and it went on the freeway. Just remember, when you get on that bike it might be your last time.
Bro Jaret...it's been a while since I've been to your channel. Believe it or not I just had both of my bikes go through another "Maintenance" schedule(for both my 2020 Ducati V4 R & my 2020/21 MV Agusta Brutale Serie Oro). The master mechanic that worked on both of my bikes brought me through the same routine that Dotto went through with your bike. Great minds think alike, as they say...haha
the bike really looks so badly awesome.. heads-up from the philippines.. hopefully I will have some bikes like that soon.. keep on dreaming :) keep-up sir.. keep safe
16:33 Wrong! the oil you put in is thick cold so you should not fil up to the secound marking . When you start to drive the oil will be thinner and expand and take more volume so it will be over the line. correct way is to fill between lines.
Great video Jaret! Have you thought about installing a TPMS so you always know your front and rear tire pressures? I’m a bit surprised that with all the technology designed into these amazing Ducati motorcycles that a TPMS system wasn’t included or built in.

Electric bikes are super cool in their own way but nothing can replace the pure sound of big bikes and after market pipes
I can see having a Zero DSR Blackforest for running errands, light shopping and food runs, especially in a more urban environment, maybe also for commuting. But for regular riding and track days, not so much.

I'm thinking of building my own electric for going to the shops while having something big for the weekend
