    Great video. I just received mine. The black USB insert on the back is not for Wifi. Wifi is built into the machine. The little USB insert is a safety key, which when removed, will render the machine useless so others or children can't use it. It also comes with an extra safety key in the box.

    The table limits the speed to 160 mms - There should be two modes: the current method using the table for the X axis. A mode that allows a galvo etch of the 4”x4” then automatically moves to the next position and allows a 4”x4” galvo etch. That way, each 4x4” etch or cut will happen at the up to the 4000mms which is the machine rated speed.

      F1 is better for engraving/cutting small things and thin/delicate materials. Also faster batching.

    • @MoonpieCreations

      So Glowforge is a CO2 laser cutter that can cut and engrave materials like wood, glass, and plastic. The xTool F1 is a portable laser engraver that can engrave at a speed of 4000 mm/s. The Glowforge is more comparable to the xTool P2 not the F1. So they don't really compare.

    That price is a little ridiculous compared to what other comparable lasers go for

    • @MoonpieCreations
      @MoonpieCreations  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      When comparing lasers you have to compare apples to apples. It needs to be portable and have both an IR/Fiber laser and diode laser. It also needs to have have accessories. With that in mind the only comparable laser to the xTool F1 IMO is the Woodpecker 4. It runs on sale for $1799 normal price $1999. While the xTool F1 runs $1599 base price. There are several YT channels that have run head to head comparisons on those. The xTool F1 is faster, more precise and is easier to use for repeatable cuts. Although the WP4 does have a larger cutting area, it doesn't make up for the rice difference IMO. Now this is just what I have seen since I have never used one before. Now do I think the prices of these lasers are over the top....well yes and maybe these lasers aren't for hobbyist, but those prices will come down over time. I let a friend use my F1 for a craft show for there bike club in Florida last month. They pulled in a profit of over $1900 over 3 days, that's three times as much as any other show they have gone too. The F1 allowed them to engrave a lot faster and better than there Longer laser did. As soon as they got back they ordered a new F1 and they have also ordered an S1. What I am getting at is these machines are an investment in your business. You can make your money back on them. Again this is just my opinion.

    • @AndrewLaSane
      @AndrewLaSane หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MoonpieCreations oh I have no doubt that it will pay itself off. What I meant was that it seems like a big part of the price is for the form factor/portability and not for the power/capabilities of the machine itself? But I'm not an expert. Either way, not a criticism of your review

    Great video...What I don't like is the annoying beep...Even my dog hates it...And if you find it pricey,you're lucky you don't live in Canada...It cost more,way more.

    Hard to make money with these since everyone on TH-cam is telling everyone you can make easy cash. Went to a show and 10 people had them on tables. There 100's of channels now with CASH on the thumbnail... Only people making any cash are the channels. Well maybe for a short time since everyone is doing it.

      I guess it's how you approach it. As with everything you need to find a niche, whether it's this LASER of any other. I can make $25 profit off 4 slate coasters. I market to my military buddies with a military logos on them. I usually get around 100 orders for them over Christmas. For Slim 20z tumblers I make $20 profit and sell about 25-30 over Christmas. Just because everyone is doing it don't get discouraged. Just find something people may want and do it better.
