Also a good idea to have a Fuel controller of some sore as mentioned below, or a flashed ECM from someone reputable.

You need block off plates to stop the flames and what not. You have a AIS or (air injection system) that pumps air in the exhaust port to burn off any unused air/fuel before it gets to the cat and silencer
The block off plates disable the AIS and no more flaming bikes..
