- Cozy morning walking in Lviv, Ukraine. This is a walk around the city center with city sounds as well (recorded 27.11.2022). Lviv is the capital of western Ukraine region. Lviv emerged as the centre of the historical regions of Red Ruthenia and Galicia in the 14th century, superseding Halych, Chełm, Belz and Przemyśl. It was the capital of the Kingdom of Galicia-Volhynia[5] from 1272 to 1349, when it was conquered by King Casimir III the Great of Poland. From 1434, it was the regional capital of the Ruthenian Voivodeship in the Kingdom of Poland. In 1772, after the First Partition of Poland, the city became the capital of the Habsburg Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria. In 1918, for a short time, it was the capital of the West Ukrainian People's Republic. Between the wars, the city was the centre of the Lwów Voivodeship in the Second Polish Republic. After the German-Soviet invasion of Poland in 1939, Lviv became part of the Soviet Union. In 1991, Lviv became part of the independent nation of Ukraine.

.....where is the war? Didn't see a single tank. Didn't see a single bomb dropped. Looks very quiet and peaceful. The few soldiers in uniform? That's the war? Where don't you see a few occasional soldiers in uniform?

My favourite city in the whole world. As a Scotsman I spent many boozy, happy nights wandering those backstreets, sitting at the top of High Castle Garden getting drunk with a bunch of random Ukrainians. I'll try to revisit soon.
What did you like to drink, what kind of a local booze, not imported? Can you recall?
@@user-iw1vl7pv4u I don't know about now, with the war situation. I haven't been to Lviv since COVID commenced. However, it was very cosmopolitan. Its town centre had everything within walking distance. You can sample just about any alcohol there and very cheaply. It also has multiple cool themed bars like Kriivka, which is a UPA themed bar where a military man stands with a machine gun and you have to give him the password; once you say it, he gives you a shot of Horilka then you are led into this cool bunker, with artillery on the roof. There is a BDSM themed bar, there is the masonic-lodged theme and multiple other delights. I would drink everything if I was to revisit it. Great craft beer scene. Lots of Georgian and Armenian wines. Good Ukrainian wines too. Before the Russians fucked up Kherson. Also try MEDIVKA. It's a honey infused liquor.

Lviv is a Polish city. After the war, they were taken from Poles. Lviv was built by Poles for hundreds of years and the city owes its beauty to them, not to Ukrainians. There is no other city like this in Ukraine.

Te wszystkie piękne i stare budynki zbudowali Polacy, kiedy Lwów należał do Polski, zanim Stalin zabrał nam nasze ziemie i oddał Ukrainie.Ludzie musieli zostawić dorobek całego życia, swoje biznesy i zostali zmuszeni, by się wyprowadzić. Rodzina mojego sąsiada mieszkała pod Lwowem. Przed wojną mieli tam swój prywatny biznes, dom i musieli wszystko zostawić, bo tak zadecydowali politycy. Królewiec, obecny Kaliningrad także został zabrany Polsce przez Rosję.
Gdyby Lwów w przeszłości należał do Rosji, a nie do Polski, to dzisiaj Rosja już tam by była i zabrała co swoje, a że był Polski, to się Nim szczycicie i chwalicie, jakbyście to wy zbudowali to miasto. Polaków ninawidzicie, nie mówię, że wszyscy, ale tak jest, bo za naszymi plecami mówicie co innego niż w oczy. My wam teraz najbardziej pomagamy ze wszystkich narodów, a wy kiedy Polacy przed wojną przyjeżdżali na Ukrainę na wycieczki, to mówiliście " po co tutaj przyjechaliscie, wracajcie do swojego kraju" to usłyszeli ludzie z wycieczki, moi znajomi, którzy chcieli zwiedzić Ukrainę. Wasz naród musi zmienić swoją mentalność, bo jak widać, nie potraficie zarządzać swoim krajem, tak byście żyli jak inne narody, a macie zasoby dużo większe niż pozostali.
Grażyno nie pierdol więcej takich głupot, bo obrażasz Polskę i Polaków swoim cebularskim myśleniem które się opiera na twych skąpych założeniach

Спасибо вам огромное, я выросла в этом городе (на Богомольца) и все эти улицы миллион раз протопала. Поплакала... Слава Богу, ничего не изменилось. Уехала в 81-м. Мы все уйдем, люди, флаги - все будет снесено, как пыль, а он и через сто лет будет такой же, Львов, милый Львов....

Nice city. Like most of western Ukraine, totally untouched by war...so why are they all coming to England? Lots of safe areas in this huge country.
Many places in Ukraine are untouched by the war. But this does not mean that there are no 1) alarms 2) missile arrivals
+ In western Ukraine, prices for rental housing have increased. (in Lviv, one-room apartments at the peak cost from €500-600. Despite the fact that the average salary in Ukraine is €450 a month. This is a very difficult question. It is very difficult in Ukraine now. Every day the lights are turned off. Yesterday I had the light on for 3 hours. It's probably strange to accuse people of wanting to live a normal life.
We have work problems. We have problems with light. We have security issues. We have problems with the observance of rights and freedoms. I forgot what it's like to walk on the street at night. It already seems to me that my pre-war life is like it was not with me.

The war has scarred Lviv. I can see it in this video. I was there in 2019 and it was vibrant and full of life. Nothing was boarded up and many people walked the streets. All businesses were open. There was no rapid inflation. What's not shown here is the rationing of electricity.
@@ЕленаХаритонова-с9у They are good people who are refugees from a real war. Here in the US we have people seeking asylum from no real war, just refuge from economic hardship. Those people are looking for freebies, not Ukrainians.
I don't know what you believe about Ukrainians but their standard of living is not that of a third world country. It is truly second world. But that second world standard was robbed by Russia. Given the West is using Ukraine as a theater for war with Russia, taking them in is the least we all can do.

Думаю можеш спокійно забути його, бо відвідини таких місць для тебе стануть нереальними з багатьох причин (хібащо Північної Кореї, ви ж там всі мрієте жити так як там у себе в ЛиНиРи/ДиНиРи чи в роzzіє). Надсилай одразу до СБУ свої дані, або до ЗСУ, так аби скоріше тобі вручили білет до білих ведмедів, бо таких як ти колаборантів наче обмнінюють на полонених. Хоча кому ти там потрібна навіть в роzzіє будеш, залшать тебе на нарах, буде хоч дах над головою ;)

Такой же некрасивый и запущенный как и Питер к примеру, там тоже в центре еще более мение, а если отойти от ценрта то трешака полным полно. но разница в том что бюдэеты этих городов несопоставимы

Budynki stare i zniszczone, gdyby zarządzała tam Polska, tak by to nie wyglądało. Ukraina nie potrafi zadbać, by otoczenie i budynki wyglądały schludnie i estetycznie.
