We used to do food shops for my son when he was away at Uni, we used to call t a “Red Cross” run, the boys he was sharing with used to rub their hands together when we carried it in, boy’s verses girls when they’re at all Uni are totally different, I honestly couldn’t believe how the boys lived, it was jaw dropping!

I don’t blame you for being mad at the shop from Tesco compared to Hayley’s shop she did great the cost of everything now is just crazy . Irish prices are much more than here in London is that because of transportation costs or the Euro or both . I don’t know how you manage , By the way my family are 10 mins away from Hayley , I won’t name the place , hopefully I will be visiting next summer , you never know might see ya I’ll be sure to say hello . Love the vlogs Orla your a good mother I’m glad you had time away recently, your always looking after everyone else . Take care 😊

I forgot to say in my earlier comment re the Tesco prices. I do think our prices here are scandalous compared with the prices I see from UK vlogfers who shop in Tesco UK. I just watched a vlog of a kady who did her full weeks shopping at her Tdscis and it only cane to £65. I gaurantee you the same shopping here woukd be well over €120. I think they prices gouge here and really inflate tye prices cos they know they can get away with it. Rip off Ireland alive and well. My cousin nsss only here in August burying her Dad's ashes in our family plot and she could not believe the prices. She stayed in a self catering apartment and she said the prices for just a few days basic groceries was outrageous.
To add insult to injury when they got back to UK they discovered false claims fro. Their car hire company claiming they damaged the car and left it back with an empty fuel tank and the company took money off their CC fir that..luckily they had videoed and decimated everything both before taking the car out and also before they left it back, so they successfully disputed the claims. Then they discovered the company had overcharged in first place and taken payment twice from.their card!! She says no offence shelved Ireland and the people but says the rip off culture is crazy and that she won't be back.in a hurry. Can't blame her tbh - who needs that stress?

Aldis NEED to start offering home delivery. I suffer badly from vertigo and cannot go into supermarkets much as the lights and walking around and swerving to avoid people drives it crazy. Therefore I depend on home delivery which atm is only tesco, dunnes or supervalu. Aldi are missing out a real trick IMO.
On another note, the other day I went into a local cafe while waiting for a taxi. 1 latte (quite a small latte too and a slice of cheesecake €13.95!! Total rip off Ireland. They are just taking the pi$$ at this stage. That makes the single (small) slice of cheesecake about €8 and there was no extras such as a bit of cream with it. And then they whine that they are losing business!!
I made a large cheesecake at home about 8 weeks ago for visiting relatives it was made with frozen raspberry puree and cream and cream cheese the base was made from bourbon creams.. i think the whole thing cos less than €5.60 to make and I had extra raspberry sauce on the side as well as cream. It was HUGE I got at least 11 massive slices out of it and actually had the women cursing me as they were moaning how much walking they'd have to do to get it off 😂.
I do think this 'cost of living crisis' is being majorly blown up now by the hotel and resturant industry to justify massive price hikes. Plus in this place the latte came out lukewarm ( a pet hate of mine).even though I told her make it extra hot. I sent it back and asked her to make it fresh NOT reheat it. They won't see my business again in a hurry

If they did offer home delivery maybe the cost of staff, vehicles etc would make the groceries more expensive, the money has to be recouped somehow, and it would be at a cost to the customers not the shareholders, having said that they are building lots of new stores here in Wales and refurbishing many of their older ones.
