Junkyard Diorama Project: Small Scratch Built1:64 Scale for Hot Wheels Display Shelf. Part 1

This video is the start of a small project I am working on. A small 1/64 scale junkyard for a Hot Wheels/Matchbox display that can go on a small shelf in my hobby room. This is mostly scratch built from materials I have around the house.

Definitely looks awesome assembled and using cheap item's that look's real. I do like the idea of everything movable and manageable, not permanent

Really cool to see this going together. It's great you thought about dirt where vehicles would be backing up and not just where they pull in. Great attention to detail friend. Fences from cereal boxes turned out great! The weathering is really cool looking. Awesome video. 👍😎

Thanks for tuning in. I love building stuff from scratch and on the low budget side of things. Drives my wife crazy sometimes when she goes to put a cereal box etc. in the garbage, and I am like..".hey wait, don't through that away I can build something with that"! LOL

Your front corner where your gap is at the chainlink will meet the other... Could be where a dog ia digging a hole out?
Or some undesirables digging in?

Scratch building is the way! Swinging gate will work good, could do a sliding gate as well. Now you got me heading g to the hobby room lol

Have never done a sliding gate. That would be a new challenge for me. Would be a better option on a small diorama like this.

This blows my mind. I'm hoping to do about 12 different styles for my shelves to display a lot of my loose cars. I have 15 shelves, with 12×15 available on each and 12 high. So I'm looking to do some multiple level parking garages, but then some different styles, like this, just stacked. I have many lights ready for anything and some ideas, but it's deciding what to do where and what style. Aaannndddd there's no way I'll be able to do more than one at a time. It'll take me like maybe 2 years to fill up all the shelves 😅

Thanks! Sounds like you got a good number of shelves to work with. Figuring what to build can sometimes be hard when you have different things you want to build. My idea is, just take the plunge and jump right in. Start 4 or 5 things at once! lol I am always building like 10 things at once. HAHA. But, then when I hit a roadblock and get stuck on what I want to do with one, (or get frustrated with it) I can always work on another while I am thinking about what to do or what direction to go with one of the others...hope that makes sense? @montanadiecast oohhhh it makes sense! I have two main ideas right now. I'll likely start cutting bases asap. I figure if I start with the bottom Ican build up.
I'm trying to build a huge community with channels like this aaannndddd anything that isn't pallet raiders and scalpers. PLEASE check it out, I have a MASSIVE list, we're all trying to share subs and likes so everyone's channel grows exponentially. That's how i got to your channel, it was recommended thru the list 🤘💣🤘
