Underrated gem of a channel. I know some food scientists that work in flavor houses and it’s always been a fascinating realm of industry. It’s cool how you bring it so down to earth and make it feel much more approachable! It’s like if Alton Brown was focused on flavors instead of generalized cooking/baking.
Thanks so much I’ve been wanting to make a bubble gum flavor for cocktails and simple syrup. This channel is a gold mine of great info that’s easy to digest and no where else on you tube. When I started bartending and taking it really seriously your book fix the pipes was the first book I bought. Thanks again for all the great stuff you do.
I remembered that I bought Vimto flavor from a flavor store, but there was no Vimto flavor at all, unless I smell the can while it is closed, I find the smell of Vimto, but the taste is like bubble gum. I searched for this flavor and did not find any recipe for it at all, I hope to make a video about femto soon. I am fond of watching your videos❤
Oh wow. That's funny. I bought some root beer soda syrup awhile back (I make my own now thanks to your videos), and I added a lil isoamyl acetate to it. And it screamed bubblegum flavor to me. I don't know what else is in their root beer syrup, but it's funny to me that isoamyl acetate actually is used to make the flavor.
Hi! Are you planning to show how to make Coca-Cola or Pepsi? I tried the Sprite recipe, and it turned out great! Now, I’m planning to try making it without sugar. :D I’m really getting into this, but recreating cola still feels pretty intimidating, especially since all the recipes I’ve seen were for the original cola and not the current one.
I am working on a recipe/video, but it is more complicated so for the next few months, I'm working on basic flavours, like the Bubble Gum one, next is Banana and then Strawberry, Cherry and Raspberry. The goal is to get people comfortable working with basic flavour compounds and then we can tackle the more complex flavours, like Cola. We need to crawl first, then walk and then run.
I've always thought that the alcoholic root beers taste more like bubble gum than root beer. I see they have similar components but is there another explanation for this?

He's not charlie sheen ... he's charlie chem, creating bangers where ever he goes.
Thank you again, this is amazing.
I'm currently enjoying a lavender soda made the way I learned from you.
Great content! Darcy we don’t deserve you, thank you for knowledge spreading❤
My pleasure!
Thank you, you have no idea how much this is helping.

There's a Norwegian soda, Villa champagnebrus, that I thought tasted like bubble gum. I would love to see an attempt at a recreation.
Love your videos. Science is cool.

I always thought that the old clear colored Nesbitts Cream Soda tasted like bubble gum. Big Red is terrible closest taste to Nesbitts I've found.

Mango juice recipe pls 🙏
Mangoes are fantastic and I’ll be doing a video on it in the near future.

Wintergreen, when mixed with fruity flavours just ends up being bubble gum to most people.
