RIP, George. This is the first time I heard him sing this song. He did a beautiful rendition. I bet his Mum and Linda were smiling down from heaven that night.
@@LoisChisholm I read an article years ago that Paul was sitting in the audience. He was blown away and later said that he felt George sang it better than him. George had the rare ability to cover someone else’s song and make it sound like his own. He was always extremely respectful to the original, but always managed to elevate the song to a higher Place. This man’s voice is untouchable, it possesses a strength and vulnerability, all at the same time. He is my absolute favorite.
George impressed me more than any human usually does... Only when he passed did we learn of his humanitarian acts. He'd been giving for years but wanted no recognition for any of it. No praise. What a guy. ❤
I hope you love this as much as I do. I cry every time I watch this. Linda and George's Mom passed from breast cancer. George left us way too soon. He was a once in a lifetime gift. RIP George ♥
What a beautiful rendition of this song. R.I.P. to George, His mom, and Linda. They both passed away from a battle with cancer. Breast Cancer. Paul never really got over her death. They loved each other so very much, very rarely being apart. George did such a great job on this one. Thank you so much for listening and reacting to both this one and the original. Much love to you and your family ❤️ 🫂.
It brings tears to my eyes every time I hear him sing this song. For me, George was one of the best singers ever, along with Steve Perry. Just look at the “Live at Concert of Hope 1993 introduced by David Bowie”, “A Different Corner (Live On BBC Parkinson Show)” and the “unplugged concert 1997” he was not only a gifted singer but also a great entertainer. George we miss you R.I.P.
George's voice was truly a gift from God. I think he was the most phenomenal singer of our time. What a beautiful respectful rendition. He always had the ability to make a song his own. Keep going and discover all his original music because every album he had went to number one. ❤
I’ve never heard this version of this song before. I love the Beatles version, but George Michael could sing A phonebook and I’d fall in love with it. what a great tribute to Linda I bet Paul loved it.❤️✌️🌼
George ❤️ is a ❤️ true legend ❤️ and. always ❤ in our hearts ❤️ His beautiful music 🎶 his divine voice 🎤 and his enchanting smile ❤️ will accompany us throughout our lives. ❤️ We love ❤️ and miss 😥 him 😥 ❤️ forever and ever ❤️ ❤️ of all time 💕
I’m a big big George Michael fan and honestly honestly had never heard this performance. Now among my favorites. Absolutely absolutely gorgeous. And on top of it I love the original song.
What a voice, immediately you feel the emotions. Almost a tender male voice like Aaron Neville that conveyed every nuance and emotion. TX Saeed. Greetings from South Africa
This man's voice!!! Lhm. I wish he and Streisand could've done a song. Very few deserve that honor. 😏 "Hard Day" is a really badass performance of his. Fantastic song and he kills it.
As you can see with the knickers quip, George always had such a great sense of humour and kept it despite the grief of losing his mum and his partner. Btw that was Sinead O'Connor who came up to him on stage to 'claim' them - so funny. It's awful that both of them are now gone. George was just wonderful as an artist and a person and will always be my idol. I miss him so much. Thanks for this ❤
I think that was Sinead O'Connor who threw her "knickers" at George lol, can't believe they're both gone now. George had this "tear" in his voice, man he still touches my heart like very few other singers have. Christmas day 2016 was probably the saddest ever for his fans, RIP. You need to react to his Live performance of "A Different Corner" (Live on BBC Parkinson Show).
Lennon and McCartney had an agreement to share credit on all Beatles songs they did anything on - even if it was only written by one, or the other. "Yesterday", for instance, is Paul's creation, but it is a shared credit. Several are John solo creations, but still, shared credit. They had a lot of songs where they worked on them together, or contributed different parts to them, especially in the earlier days. By this time, though, the band was pretty fractured. This is a Paul song. I have to imagine Paul liked this rendition - it's more stripped down, which was his original intent. There was a tussle with Phil Spector, the producer on the "Let it Be" album, over this - Paul did NOT approve of the "angel choir" voices being added. A lot of people got used to that version, though, and prefer it. I used to be in that camp, until "Let It Be: Naked" came out, and I heard the original in a stripped-down version, and got used to it - now I actually prefer it, and when I saw your other reaction video, the angel choir voices were getting under my skin. In their entire marriage, Paul and Linda spent a grand total of three nights apart - one of the best couples in rock, a legend in itself. That tribute concert, "A Garland for Linda", is amazing.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share some info. 3 nights apart, that might be almost the same for my wife and i. Been together since we were 16. But in the entertainment business that is pretty rare.
I'm a huge fan of George but sorry George sings this beautiful, yes Paul's wife died of cancer, I've heard Paul sing this and there is no comparison ,no disrespect to Paul but George's voice is beautiful and that was Seanead O'connor that threw the nickers. Rip❤
💔💔💔 .. I watched both of your reactions to this song , back to back. I may just watch them a dozen times or so because I love this song. Paul is a genius , in more than one way , but mainly as a composer. Then there is George Michael. George is a better singer than anyone you have reacted to so far , in my opinion. I truly hope you start to react to his solo songs. I will give you one recommendation, although you can not go wrong with any choice Try "Father Figure" and you will enjoy the lyrics , and of course his voice. What a joy it was tonight to hear both renditions tonight. 🛤️
In the Beatles version of this, the blonde woman holding a camera was Linda (Eastman) McCartney, Paul’s first wife. I believe she died of breast cancer. That is who George is talking about.
Not long after George Michael did this cover, jazz icon George Benson did one of his own, with orchestration. This link is from a playlist on my YT channel where I post both the originals of songs and covers of those same pieces. It's fascinating, as we know, to hear how artists interpret for themselves the music they love that others have created. th-cam.com/video/hqBaQ1qd8fY/w-d-xo.html
George was immensely talented, loved his "Listen Without Prejudice" album. This was a great tribute.
RIP, George.

Such a beautiful voice! And beautiful soul.
George is such a wonderful singer and human being.
What a jewel this man was. Forever missed.

Truly beautiful performance.
@@dshaak1 George Michael's mother Lesley died from skin cancer whereas Linda McCartney died from breast cancer.

Ohhhhh, THANK YOUUU!! Everything about George is just magical… he is beautiful, inside and out!
Amazing! Thanks for watching.
Now, that is a tribute. Amazing cover.
The soothing velvet voice....
Absolutely stunning rendition. Very moving, especially when you consider his opening remarks. Great choice.
I have never heard this version before. WOW
George Michael was a star. Talent beyond measure and sexy. ❤ Freedom my favorite ❤

Truly beautiful and touching version. Sad to hear about his wife.
Thanks for watching. Much love to you and your family 🫂❤️
Yes … more George👍🏻
He had another song dedicated to his mom called Waltz Away Dreaming. An amazing dedication.

Hi Saeed! George Michael had a versatile voice of honey... left us way too soon. Some day, play Father Figure... it is iconic of George.
Incredible vocalist. Definitely want to hear more. Thanks for watching.
Miss George… he is my favorite artist❤ His passing hurts.
George's voice was truly a gift from God. I think he was the most phenomenal singer of our time. What a beautiful respectful rendition. He always had the ability to make a song his own. Keep going and discover all his original music because every album he had went to number one. ❤
Wow...absolutely stunning...that voice...pure honey...it is for breast cancer, I have goosebumps...
Truly beautiful rendition of this song.
Thanks for letting me know!
One more time George is able to be an amazing singer ❤

Best male singer songwriter ever
A good live cover performance by George Michael is I Can't Make You Love Me
George was a top notch singer songwriter; Paul loved his wife Linda so so much!
I hadn't heard this before, an amazing cover of an amazing song!
Fantastic singer and sadly missed , only saw him once , he was amazing ❤
*GEORGE MICHAEL: 🐐*
So fun for us, watching your amazement, discovering the magic of the music of our lives…thank you!
Grateful people are joining me for this journey.

What a voice and beautiful performance.
I have loved this version since the first time I heard it! His voice shines like a sun. ❤
I was fortunate to see George perform 4 times live, most angelic voice i've ever heard, i love him for ever!! ❤❤❤
That's awesome!
What a voice, immediately you feel the emotions. Almost a tender male voice like Aaron Neville that conveyed every nuance and emotion. TX Saeed. Greetings from South Africa
Amazing voice. Aaron Nevilla has a great voice too! Thanks so much for watching. Greetings from Belgium.
I love how you clapped at the end… he is amazing🥹
It's no coincidence that George Michael recorded duets with Whitney, Aretha, Jody Watley, and Mary J Blige. His beautiful voice was full of soul.
This man's voice!!! Lhm. I wish he and Streisand could've done a song. Very few deserve that honor. 😏
"Hard Day" is a really badass performance of his. Fantastic song and he kills it.
Doesn't come better than that ❤
Don't come for me too hard 😉....I have always preferred George's version over the original. But then again, I thought George was just about it 🎶🎵💚
Same here👍🏻❤️

You must listen to George Michael - A Different Corner (Live On BBC Parkinson Show). It and this performance are not to be missed.
I reacted to it, but its blocked on TH-cam. It is available on the Free tier of my patreon until that issue is resolved.
One of the most underrated voices in pop music. RIP George.

George’s mum Leslie and Linda McCartney both had skin cancer, not breast cancer

Paul McCartney said George sang the song better than he did. Enough said. RIP George, we miss you.

Thanks for being here and for the recommendation.
