Finally, Hiro Shishigami is getting some much deserved recognition, he is honestly such an incredible villain, he has so much depth to his character and yet he embodies the pure evil trope so effectively well and this is the ONLY anime that has made me cry in the first and last episode. 10/10 wish it was more popular

So dope to see some attention on Shishigami, bro is such a fun, scary ass villain. I love that his origin literally boils down to "Since I'm a robot and there's no way I'm the same person, I'll just give into the intrusive thoughts, lol" only to encounter Inuyashiki, who kind of has the opposite mindset ("Since I'm a robot and have been blessed with these abilities, I'll do nothing but good with them") and have his world complete flipped on his head. It's fuckin solid (even if the show is maybe a 7/10, if I'm being a lil generous). Still a banger villain.
It's not that simple. I don't mean to be "that guy" but Shishigami or as I'll refer to him Hiro kills to feel human. If I recall correctly he has a whole moment about not being able to cry (come to think about it I think that was Inuyashiki) Anyway to feel alive again he needs some pretty intense stuff. Most of his kills throughout the series were for A. Revenge B. Self Defence C. To Feel Alive He is a textbook psychopath who lacks empathy for people and pretends to have the emotions he thinks he should have, I believe this is why he begins unrealisticly crying when reading One Piece. If I remember correctly I always thought that Hiro tricked himself into thinking he lost his humanity when he died when in reality he was always like this from the start. Inuyashiki is the polar-opposite of Hiro and is a man who is conventionally unattractive while Hiro is youthful and often portrayed as almost angelic when it comes to beauty. Hiro is at first seemingly an innocent boy to tragic villain and finally the monster he truly is. Just wanted to share my personal thoughts, have a good day.
More like the kid was bored of his repetitive lifestyle and found killing as an enjoyment and as a way to feel emotion once again. While Inuyashiki is a model citizen who gets treated poorly but is more humane than anybody. Personally i think this show is a masterpiece in more ways than people imagined when it came out

Anime is Inuyashiki Last Hero. Being reminded of this guy made me watch it before I watched this. I implore you to do the same even if you watch this first. What an incredible and thought provoking story with a striking dynamic in humanity between the main 2 characters. Edit - Also, after watching for myself before hand, I can confirm that he is describing these moments with terrifying accuracy. This series really shows the difference between being kind and just being harmless. Inuyashiki , the protagonist, chose to do good and tried to not hurt anyone or abuse his power even though he very much could. Whereas Hiro is just a straight up psychopath who is choosing to live out every intrusive thought he's ever had. Showing that he was always a budding serial killer deep down who was just harmless because he didn't actually have the *power* to act on his fantasies
Theirs a quote from Abe Lincoln that works for Hiro “if you want to know the true measure of a man then give him power” which I believe way more than power corrupting. Power doesn’t corrupt. Power just allows you to be who you really are.
to be fair he wasn't 100% pure evil. He actually cared about people who were kind to him. His mom his friend his girl. But they and the cycle of violence through revenge were also why he kept crashing out. Every time he stopped the consequences of his actions harmed his loved ones which brought him more and more off the deep end. And he even reflected on his actions and died saving people in the end so "thank" the cycle of violence and of course his actions for this clusterfuck.

The scariest thing about Hiro to me is that he could've really easily succeeded in ending the population on day 1. He said himself that he has nuclear launch codes, and showed that he didn't need air to survive, so he coulda just launched them mfs and took off into space. Even without that, he could've fulfilled his goals if he started suddenly booming people through their phones without prior warning. He could've gone to the ocean, giving him an infinite energy supply, and continued his assault through the internet without any interruptions. He could've just made humans extinct everywhere except Japan, or brought his gf to some remote island to prevent her death. It was, by all accounts, his emotions that got him killed, which I find incredibly poetic.
Facts. Though, if the Japanese Government played their cards right, they may have been able to control and weaponize Shishigami. 😂 Would've made a great asset to Japan despite the many lives that were lost or could be lost. 🤷 What's a few thousand for a Man who can Destroy the world?

There’s several psychopathic/sociopathic and murderous characters featured on this channel or ones that have committed all kinds of heinous acts (some even involving the destruction of entire worlds), but Hiro’s sheer malevolence is all relatively plausible, mass shootings, acts of terror, take away the telekinetic robot boy and several of these crimes are very close to reality, which is what makes them more eerie than most others depicted in fiction. The closest I’ve seen to character like Hiro in live-action is Andrew Detmer from Chronicle. Both regular kids with mental health issues randomly given powers by something they found outside (Andrew being made a psychic by a weird crystal in the ground and Hiro being reconstructed as a robot with telekinesis by aliens that ran him over) and going on to become increasingly destructive as the stability in their lives deteriorate as their antics become more public. The main difference is Andrew isn’t anywhere near as psychopathic/sociopathic or “emotionless” as Hiro, nor as deliberate with his violent actions, as violence itself isn’t what excites him. He mainly just wanted to be loved and respected, but decided to settle for fear when he couldn’t get his way. Hiro specifically enjoys crime and violence because it gives him the rush of emotions he otherwise feels he lacks, but just like Andrew, both have little to no regard for others, only caring about their own needs and wants above anything else (with the exception of their mothers, who both seem to genuinely care for and grieve for when their mothers die). Either way, both examples depict how dangerous a regular person with powers would be in the real world, as it would potentially compel a person to act on their worst impulses without any dangers or consequences dissuading them. Yet both also depict some individuals that, while still flawed, would have the moral integrity to want to use their power for others or at the very least, would want to avoid using them to spare others harm, wether they are successful or not.

Usually he either stomps or gets stomped, but Shishigami is actually able to hurt him via his screen shots and could possibly be immune to the Death Note thanks to being a robot. At the same time he's dumb, so Light could easily plot around him and stay out of the line of sight of any screens

Inuyashiki is amazing, especially its titular protagonist, Ichiro Inuyashiki. The dude is just an old man who loves life to the point where the moment he realizes he has superpowers, his first instinct is to help out everyone in his hood. He's the embodiment of unconditional love.

It's not that simple. I don't mean to be "that guy" but Shishigami or as I'll refer to him Hiro kills to feel human. If I recall correctly he has a whole moment about not being able to cry (come to think about it I think that was Inuyashiki) Anyway to feel alive again he needs some pretty intense stuff. Most of his kills throughout the series were for

B. Self Defence
C. To Feel Alive
He is a textbook psychopath who lacks empathy for people and pretends to have the emotions he thinks he should have, I believe this is why he begins unrealisticly crying when reading One Piece. If I remember correctly I always thought that Hiro tricked himself into thinking he lost his humanity when he died when in reality he was always like this from the start. Inuyashiki is the polar-opposite of Hiro and is a man who is conventionally unattractive while Hiro is youthful and often portrayed as almost angelic when it comes to beauty. Hiro is at first seemingly an innocent boy to tragic villain and finally the monster he truly is.

More like the kid was bored of his repetitive lifestyle and found killing as an enjoyment and as a way to feel emotion once again. While Inuyashiki is a model citizen who gets treated poorly but is more humane than anybody. Personally i think this show is a masterpiece in more ways than people imagined when it came out

This series really shows the difference between being kind and just being harmless.
Inuyashiki , the protagonist, chose to do good and tried to not hurt anyone or abuse his power even though he very much could.
Whereas Hiro is just a straight up psychopath who is choosing to live out every intrusive thought he's ever had. Showing that he was always a budding serial killer deep down who was just harmless because he didn't actually have the *power* to act on his fantasies
Theirs a quote from Abe Lincoln that works for Hiro “if you want to know the true measure of a man then give him power” which I believe way more than power corrupting. Power doesn’t corrupt. Power just allows you to be who you really are.
to be fair he wasn't 100% pure evil. He actually cared about people who were kind to him. His mom his friend his girl. But they and the cycle of violence through revenge were also why he kept crashing out. Every time he stopped the consequences of his actions harmed his loved ones which brought him more and more off the deep end. And he even reflected on his actions and died saving people in the end so "thank" the cycle of violence and of course his actions for this clusterfuck.

The scariest thing about Hiro to me is that he could've really easily succeeded in ending the population on day 1. He said himself that he has nuclear launch codes, and showed that he didn't need air to survive, so he coulda just launched them mfs and took off into space. Even without that, he could've fulfilled his goals if he started suddenly booming people through their phones without prior warning. He could've gone to the ocean, giving him an infinite energy supply, and continued his assault through the internet without any interruptions. He could've just made humans extinct everywhere except Japan, or brought his gf to some remote island to prevent her death. It was, by all accounts, his emotions that got him killed, which I find incredibly poetic.
Facts. Though, if the Japanese Government played their cards right, they may have been able to control and weaponize Shishigami. 😂 Would've made a great asset to Japan despite the many lives that were lost or could be lost. 🤷 What's a few thousand for a Man who can Destroy the world?

7:25, This is actually a very good point. There’s several psychopathic/sociopathic and murderous characters featured on this channel or ones that have committed all kinds of heinous acts (some even involving the destruction of entire worlds), but Hiro’s sheer malevolence is all relatively plausible, mass shootings, acts of terror, take away the telekinetic robot boy and several of these crimes are very close to reality, which is what makes them more eerie than most others depicted in fiction.
The closest I’ve seen to character like Hiro in live-action is Andrew Detmer from Chronicle. Both regular kids with mental health issues randomly given powers by something they found outside (Andrew being made a psychic by a weird crystal in the ground and Hiro being reconstructed as a robot with telekinesis by aliens that ran him over) and going on to become increasingly destructive as the stability in their lives deteriorate as their antics become more public.
The main difference is Andrew isn’t anywhere near as psychopathic/sociopathic or “emotionless” as Hiro, nor as deliberate with his violent actions, as violence itself isn’t what excites him. He mainly just wanted to be loved and respected, but decided to settle for fear when he couldn’t get his way. Hiro specifically enjoys crime and violence because it gives him the rush of emotions he otherwise feels he lacks, but just like Andrew, both have little to no regard for others, only caring about their own needs and wants above anything else (with the exception of their mothers, who both seem to genuinely care for and grieve for when their mothers die).
Either way, both examples depict how dangerous a regular person with powers would be in the real world, as it would potentially compel a person to act on their worst impulses without any dangers or consequences dissuading them. Yet both also depict some individuals that, while still flawed, would have the moral integrity to want to use their power for others or at the very least, would want to avoid using them to spare others harm, wether they are successful or not.

Usually he either stomps or gets stomped, but Shishigami is actually able to hurt him via his screen shots and could possibly be immune to the Death Note thanks to being a robot. At the same time he's dumb, so Light could easily plot around him and stay out of the line of sight of any screens
