In the continued spirit of resilience, dozens of indigenous peoples and allies gathered at Alcatraz Island in the early hours of Nov. 24, 2022, to commemorate the Indigenous Peoples’ Thanksgiving Sunrise Gathering. Jeremy Word, who has consistently contributed to El Tecolote, documented the ceremony.
