Hi there! Thank you for your comment! Sorry for my late reply! Thank you so much for spreading accessibility awareness around! We definitely need more people like you. 😊
I learned how the shortcut works on the Google pixel. As you mentioned, it's different on devices with a home button and even different on my Galaxy S8. The S8 uses the volume up and power button together to launch the accessibility shortcut. I'm also impressed that you factory reset your phone for the video, that's dedication! LOL!
@@theblindlife Ah! Is that how it works over there? That's interesting. Is that for talkback or voice assistant or can you set it for whichever you want? And I factory reset my old phone... not my pixel, so it wasn't a big deal. I want to set it up as little Pablo's phone and I have to set it up to be kid friendly anyway. Haha. I'm bad at letting go of tech... I still have a 2 or 3 slider phones, a galaxy note 4, a nexus 2, a windows phone my brother gave to me, a nexus 6P, and Pablo's pixel gen. LOL.
Thanks for the video. As a ten year user of Apple voice over, it was stressful trying to figure out how to activate and use talk back on a Samsung galaxy. The video was helpful in activating the feature, and I was able to troubleshoot the tablet for a family member. Look forward to checking out the rest of your video catalog.
Glad to help Phil! I hope you're doing with talkback now! By the way, I have a new channel! You can check it out here: www.youtube.com/@carrieonaccessibility . I'm unfortunately not able to continue creating videos on this channel.

Hey Kerry it’s me again from the UK I’m watching a video on talkback and I’m finding it very useful are use voice-over but I want to learn talkback and try and learn the difference and see which one is easier am I right in saying that talk that is easier than voice-over tell me if I’m right
There's really no answer to that. A lot of people find voice over easier and there are some people who find TalkBack easier. It's all about the individual and they will have to try it out and see what's best for them. If you're a beginner with technology though, I would try out the iPhone first.
It's in Talkback settings, then advanced settings, then typing preference. :) Please note that this channel has been discontinued. If you'd like more and new accessibility and technology content, check out my new channel called Carrie on Accessibility! youtube.com/@carrieonaccessibility

Carrie Carrie Carrie you are blowing up!!! I am incredibly proud of you as you are getting better and better with each video you put out. It's almost as if you're we're driving a Porsche to begin with and now you're in a Ferrari. LOL I knew I was right to give you a shout out with all the top dogs on TH-cam. You Were Meant to have your own TH-cam channel. Okay okay but kissing time is over. Great video enjoyed it tremendously and I will be waiting for your next 1. I think Sam might be going over to the dark side and getting away from Android. And now he's pawning it off to you. LOL just kidding.
You are too too funny Vincent! Actually, I will have my be on both sides. my dad is going to give me his old iPhone and I'm going to be making videos with it. Hahaha. Don't kill me! I will still have Android as my daily driver don't worry. There is no way that I'm going to change to iOS because Android is a lot easier to transfer files, and I live off of the Google ecosystem. I also don't like the iPhone screen or the way it magnifies the screen either. So don't worry!
Hi Kerry it’s me Lisa again watching from the UK I have a question for you would you be able to tell me about your views with the screen reader software NVDA as I’m looking into it for myself with screen readers because I believe it’s better and it’s free and what yours is let me know thank you
Honestly, I use both NVDA and Jaws. Definitely try out NVDA and see how you like it. I tend to use them for different things and sometimes narrator too can be helpful now that they have really improved things. :)
My daughter already uses an android phone. It was set up but I do not know how to activate top back on it. She is too young to instruct me, wondering if I can start top back without any help. This phone has a home button and is the phone by Samsung don’t know the model number or specifications
It really depends on the device. You can try to press and hold the volume up and down button for 3 seconds and see if that works. You may have to do it twice for it to start. Otherwise, you will need to go to settings then accessibility and find screen reader and talk back on there. I hope that helps!
@@LiveAccessible that is really weird, I had to take cited help to launch talk back for the first time. After that I use the volume buttons to launch it now my problem is can I change the hot keys to launch talk back? Because this shortcut will damage the volume keys for sure!
How do you turn off and deactivate and close the talk back google Assistant for screen text readers for my new mobilephone and turn off connected mobile phone and tablet.

I need TalkBack I am dyslexic so I use talk to text but when I use talk back an assist to read things for me double tap will not work I tap over and over it will not work how do I use these options without having double tap how can I activate talkback and the reading help without having double tap

There aren't really any very accessible audio editing apps for android. You can try Gold wave, but it is limited and would be better if you could find a way to edit audio on the computer using audacity or a similar software.
Yes, it can be confusing at first. But it should get easier. The newer phones should also come with multi-finger gestures. And those are a big help. They will be a little bit more like voice assistant which is what Samsung originally had.
@@LiveAccessible my tablet is running android 9.0pie and I am using a slightly older version of google tts engine because the newer updates slow my tablet down to the point I have to wait for it to say something, the tablet itsself is running a pure android build, in other words, stock android, and has 2GB of ram and 32 gigs of storage and appears to have a mediatec arm CPU
yeah watching this brings back so many horrible memories of TB.. VO is better in every way it just is. especially if you have no vision at all.. it's worse on Samsung since they want their own version of TB and do not bother to update their trash screen reader..
Do you personally have an android phone like is that your personal phone? Don’t tell me it is please do not tell me it is oh my God. 4:149:46 if you do, it’s OK I’m not laughing at you but do you really it’s not your personal phone I have don’t know honestly 😮
