      Thank you for sharing about your endometriosis. I had the same struggle for years with being certain I had it and all my doctors telling me no. I got new doctors, finally got diagnosed and had the surgery this year. Even though there is no cure, it’s a huge relief to be validated and have your symptoms acknowledged. I wish you all the best with your surgery! Take care of yourself. You probably know this but nightgowns and nightshirts are a lifesaver for after the surgery! So much more comfortable than dealing with waistbands

    I had my 2nd endometriosis surgery 5 days ago!! DO IT!!! It's such a relief, it's so important to get on top of! Also if you have a vein issue, ask them to inject lidocaine first to numb the area (my doctor does that cause I had 2 IVs at once) so you can easily pretend it isn't even happening. First surgery was a keyhole (3 incisions) and they got a lot of it out but not all of it. This second surgery was still keyhole (6 incisions) but robotic and they got ALLLL of it out. Try for a robotic surgery the first time if you can. The technology allows them to see clear spots the naked eye can't see

    I used to be a girl who was fainting and was absolutely terrified of blood tests. But when I got pregnant I had to have them regularly. So I just forced myself to go and just think that it is no big deal and it worked! Our mind is a powerful thing! I was my own therapist. I just went there and thought it is nothing to be afraid of, there are literally thousands of blood tests done in a day so I just gave them my hand and looked away and didn’t feel a thing. I couldn’t believe how easy it was and from that time forwards I just look at it differently and I’m not afraid.

    It really annoys me that woman aren't being heard when they are suffering with pain and that doctors don't take it seriously first so we have to ask over and over again for help😩
    I've had really bad stomach pain for a year now, asked my doctor to see a specialist multiple times.. ended up switching doctor and my new one sent me to a specialist and i found out i had some things on my ovary's .. luckily it isn't anything dangerous but now i need to wait 3 more months for a new check to see if it's still there or not (routine to check after 3 months before operating)...
    i'm so sure i've had this growing for a year but because i didn't found out before now i need to wait so long for a new check and then figure out a way to get it out 😩still in a lot of pain while waiting

    Hi Molly - I am exactly the same with ‘vein-phobia’ and have tried everything - therapy, CBT, hypnotherapy - you name it! I had a similar situation recently and please know that you can absolutely ask to be anaesthetised with gas first - they then put the cannula in when you’re unconscious, and take it out again before you come round (because even seeing it in my hand/arm makes me faint)! It’s a very light anaesthetic, so you don’t feel groggy when you come round ( I had it for a similar key hole procedure) and it made the process so much easier for me. Sending you lots of love, as I know how horrendous the phobia is and how it isn’t taken seriously by some! So glad you have a diagnosis, and all the best! x

Tough filming content while working getting that balance. AMAZING that you might be doing a giveaway of make-up from the PR on Instagram stories. Seems quite organised for the quantity that you've received! Sending you and Tommy positivity X

    It’s sOOOO worrying that your gp surgery didn’t diagnose you with endemitreosis but as soon as you went to a specialist you did. I wonder how many women go through this but have to just put up with it because they can’t afford a specialist. Do you know why gp surgery told you that you didn’t have it? Even though you said you had all the symptoms? X

    • @annam5733
      @annam5733 3 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      So the reason they do that is because the only way to actually diagnose endometriosis is through surgery, there is no scan or ultrasound that can see it. GPs (and specialists) can say you have suspected endometriosis but they cannot actually diagnose you until they see it for themselves in the operation. I had all of the symptoms and they did find endo in my operations but it's not uncommon for women to have all of the symptoms but don't find anything during the surgery (endo shares symptoms with many other conditions)

    You can do this Molly!! The hospital where you’ll get your surgery might have a psychology department that specialise in health so would be used to working with this type of thing. Otherwise cognitive behavioural therapy tends to be pretty good for phobias. the good thing about phobias is they’re one of the easiest things to “treat” (I’m a psychologist by the way)

    I’m so happy that you’ve finally got a diagnosis for endo! I had my surgery last year. I’d advise you get pelvic physiotherapy a few weeks after your surgery, as with all other surgeries, physiotherapy is used to aid recovery. From years of endo, your pelvic floor muscles and nerves will be overly sensitised and likely will still cause you some pain if not :) it should also help to reduce issues with any scar tissue forming. Hope this helps!

    Advice for blood tests and canula, honestly I was petrified of both before I was pregnant even getting blood tests during my pregnancy I was crying and panicking and had to have someone hold my hand but I just learned not to think about them, after a few in a row I realised it was only a tiny pinch feeling and I could talk away to the nurse which makes it go so much faster. With the canula I got so so worked up honestly looking back it was ridiculous but the nurses do them all the time and it was in within a few seconds I just looked the complete opposite direction and talked about anything to distract me. After an hour or so I completely forgot it was even in my hand. Really hope this helps! You'll do amazing, I hope the surgery goes well!!! Xo

    Just had my fourth laproscopy last week ! (26 years old and my GP didn't listen either 🙄)
    Little List of must haves for after surgery
    1. peppermint tea! (Helps with the shoulder gas and bloating)
    2. Baggy clothes that are easy to put on after surgery
    3. Make sure you have some sort of hot water bottle for your shoulders when your in bed after surgery
    4. A pillow for the car journey home and for in bed to rest your swollen belly on...
    So refreshing to see someone going through this also being able to still live your life ! good luck with your surgery, hope you get the answers you need 🤞also the only thing that helps me with my fear of veins is having my mum to hold my hand whilst I cry my eyes out (quick tip for the back of the hand cannula, as soon as you get in hospital for surgery ask them to put emla cream on the back of both hands, it just helps mentally a little)

    I have the same fear with needles in veins! With surgery though, you can ask them to use this freeze spray which will make your hand numb so you won’t feel the cannula going in! That’s what I did and really helped- good luck! ❤️

    Just because you struggle getting blood tests does never mean your not mature 🥰 It just means your expressing your anxieties and phobias which that to me is the most mature thing anyone can do🥰 The only way to deal with this is called OR (Exposure response). I suffer with OCD and has been told by many therapists the one way to do it is to confront your phobia. It can be little things like looking at your veins in your arms and feeling your skin as your vein appears. Hope this helps and good luck ❤️❤️

    Oh molly 😔 I’ve been diagnosed with endo myself this year and went in for the same surgery in November just gone, they couldn’t find any though so will need to go back 😩 I have the same phobia too and literally cry at the thought of it and mention of it too, all I can recommend is asking for numbing sprays/put headphones in and squeeze the heck outta someone’s hand, ask them to put a bandage or cover over the canula too so you can’t see it going in your hand, I kept having panic attacks every time I looked at it and saw blood ect where I was poking it wanting to rip it out so they covered it for me and it made me feel so much better about it, I know there’s nothing anyone can say that eases your mind but try take comfort in knowing it’s over really quick and it’s for an amazing reason, I really hope your surgery goes better than mine, good luck and stay strong! 💛

    Hey Molly, regarding your kinda phobia to veins and just being phased by getting your blood taken....gurrrrrl, I understandd! From experience I always feel like having someone there with you, if because of covid you can't have Tommy or whomever you would want there I would recommend visualising! The last time I got my blood taken before and operation and getting the cannula put in I didn't have anyone with me which freaked me the hell out but, I visualised myself after the operation and even after I got blood taken, imagining it being done within seconds and so on. I also tried transportating myself to a memory of when I was very happy which helped me take my mind off of it. And another important thing would be to breath and close your eyes, if you are looking at it it makes it so much worse. I hope this helps you Molly, loads of love from Ireland xx

    I feel like she has been slightly misinformed in regards to her endometriosis diagnosis. Endometriosis can only truly be diagnosed after a laparoscopy, so to say she definitely has the condition before the surgery is poor practice in my opinion. She also said there’s 40% chance of it growing back. That unfortunately again is simply not the case, it will grow back at some point. As she said before there is no cure.
    I really hope her keyhole surgery gives her some answers because it’s horrible being left undiagnosed for so long.

    • @inayafellingham3958
      @inayafellingham3958 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Endometriosis does show up on scans such as ultrasound and MRI, therefore can be diagnosed after having these. Although the only official way is via surgery just to be 100% and because tissue rarely shows up on a scan. I was diagnosed after my scan as thankfully my tissue showed up and I have later been reconfirmed of officially having endo.

    • @laibam3858
      @laibam3858 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      about the laparoscopy maybe she has done it but didn’t want to share it who knows she doesn’t need to share everything on social media if i was in her position i wouldn’t share it at all i think it’s quite private so the fact that she is sharing it rn it quite nice of her so yh don’t jump to any conclusions before u know it all

    • @rhaea
      @rhaea 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Totally agree with you! A dr would never say just from hearing someone speak about their symptoms ‘you definitely have endo’

    • @brennathurbon692
      @brennathurbon692 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@laibam3858 I have never at one point suggested she needed to share anything. What she chooses to disclose is entirely up to her. My point is I’d hate people to see this and assume they could be officially diagnosed without surgery and if she has been given the information she has just shared she has been misinformed. I have stage 4 endo and that was only diagnosed after 10 years and being passed from one consultant to another, so believe me I sympathize if she has it. However, Im also fully aware how disappointing and frustrating it is being told incorrect information in relation to your health.
