  • How to adhere backs to polymer clay earrings, a polymer clay tutorial. This is possibly the number one most asked question I see in the polymer world right now so I wanted to share how I’ve done it for years. This method has gotten me great results over the years when you want an earring back that won’t break or fail after a lot of use.

    Of all the clay videos I’ve watched involving anything to do with clay this one is the best and most needed for me. Thank you so much for putting this on here. The paper towel trick is phenomenal and I’ve been able to incorporate that else where!

    I love your post earrings. They’re the only ones that don’t irritate my ears.

    So it won’t over bake the part that’s already been baked?

    I saw those cutters in a off brand art supply store. Getting them tomorrow...yay!!! Did you use a pasta machine?? I'm looking for one with easy cleaning. Kinda tired of colors transferring.

    Where did you find the tool that you press to release the circle of clay?

    Was the white piece already baked? Will the super glue change the clay? Newbie here.

    I've always avoided using glue because i thought i shouldn't bake it, but it must be ok? i'll give it a go. Thanks Beth

      NOOOO. Just because someone did it in a video doesn’t mean it must be okay. It’s EXTREMELY toxic.

      @@Kejfnsnsmskskyep I looked into it further. I have skipped the glue 👍🏻

    Did you bake the stud before adding the post and then baked again? Just wanting to make sure to do it correctly and not burn my clay

    • @annitagalvan9049
      @annitagalvan9049 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Kayla Branham Yes, it seems that the stud was baked before adding the post. Then, for sure, it was baked again when the grey polymer clay was applied.
      NB, You can bake your project as many times as you want, actually it makes it stronger, keeping the right temperature.
      As well, there are projects that it's a must to bake it multiple times if you have to do more delicate work on it.

    Can I use some other glue instead of liquid clay? Pls tell.

    • @BethWest
      @BethWest  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry I missed this, the liquid clay isn’t essential, but I think brushing it on helps the baked clay and metal of the post stick more easily when your smoothing it. Without it, pressing it down is more challenging.

    Can I use E6000?

    • @BethWest
      @BethWest  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m sorry for the late reply! I don’t use E6000, it tends to fail over time. The Loctite Gel is my favorite glue and the one I’ve stuck with for years.
