I must say that mode switching demo at the end really shows off what this wah can do, fantastic playing too. Oh and Thankyou guys for this entire Wahctober thing it has been amazing to see so much consistent bass content.
Unlike the other signature wahs, this one actually sounds like what Justin uses live and on albums. There isn't much wah in Tool songs though, I can only think of like 3 songs
So I'm an old metal head that plays in a funk band as well i.e. the gap, s.o.s., the time, Zapp & Roger... I do a lot of bi-amp'd synth Bass tones. This beast will be amazing plan to put an OC-2 in front, AW-2 after....👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I love the feature of playing dry and then on hitting the wah you get the fuzz too. Not really a fan of the fuzz bass for whole songs but love a blast of it. Rhonda Smith did this a lot in the Prince Live DVD live at The Alladin. Sounded killer!
Not trying to call you out but Dunlop used to make the Jimi Hendrix Fuzz wah, it's a Hendrix wah with a fuzz kick switch on the side. It's an amazing wah that I wish they would reissue.
I feel like the uk filter is just better for a normal bass line that's player down low but the normal one is great for lead playing. The fuzz sounds great as well!

And it sounds pretty great at that. Now to wait a year until someone who paid full price decides it’s too big for their pedal board, and then I can actually afford it. 😅

I know the riffs are pre recorded and played through the wiretap or whatever it is, but is the actual wah-ing with the vans shoe just a short clip that’s edited and synced with wah-ing that’s applied to the riffs? The clips of the foot on the wah look so weird, haha.
Thank you for not demanding we play Tool! I’m guessing you feel the same way, but we’ve always felt that signature gear shouldn’t be limited to that player’s EXACT tone and parts.

I think they played down the envelope because so many people do not understand filter based preamps... but you are 100% correct I think. I think I need to make up a parametric expression pedal (there isn't one?)...my weeping demon also has the option to toggle between free wheel/stomp activate and spring return/auto activate - the spring loaded wahs are a godsend for people with leg issues for several mechanical reasons.
@@russellzauner Well, if you're referring to this pedal specifically, neither mode is envelope-based. The UK Filter setting is just a differently-voiced wah mode. We did have two envelope filter pedals in Wahctober at large, though.
@@russellzauner Well a wah going into a drive gets more ‘screamy’ than a fuzz into wah (like this and the power fuzz wah). do both for best of both worlds!
I find this new trend of all in one pedals totally unnecessary. Get a good wah that you like the sound of, get a good fuzz you like the sound of. It'll be cheaper and you be able to get exactly what you like.

@@davedixon2167 I contacted Morley, they said it's a buffered bypass. Did you notice any difference in tone with the pedal plugged in? The Crybaby Bass wah has a reputation for affecting your tone
What's horrible-sounding to you in here? I love fuzz bass personally, and this whole month was specifically about wah pedals... But we have lots of different demos of basses, pedals, amps stretching back several years - pick your poison! That said: classic, clean bass doesn't lend itself well to most gear demos, since the more subtle and transparent equipment is, the less it'll be audible once it comes across youtube codecs and compression.
It’s easy to make something sound good when you only cater to its core concept. Our aim was to demo all the wahs across lines and styles. While we did not play any Tool lines, Chris’s tapping line in the middle sounded very Tool-like to me.
+1 to @Dave Dixon - A good demo shows ALL a pedal can do, which is appreciated by those that also play other genres. Seems like the JC wah nails his sound, but can also be used for much more. Props to Dave and team for Wahctober for the hard work. I've already got this on preorder and there are a couple other wahs from all these wah videos that I wouldn't have looked at before but may also end up picking up as well. :)

On The Patient he uses his tone knob on the bass during that intro section and that UK filter sounds like it emulates it.

put a TS-9 in front of this with the Red Fasel mode and see if it can do Cliff Burton tones.

Garbage pedal. It's so noisy it's insane, and there's an audible glitch every time you roll it on. It's horrible. I sold it two days after I got it.
