    WOWW very interesting! I love it Tammy you did a good job. I just started watching you since last year but I love all your work you're an amazing artist. Like the saying goes artists were once amateurs. We all got to start somewhere and just keep doing it especially if you love what you're doing. One day I told my husband I want to start painting and he looked at me like if I was crazy and I told him I'm serious I feel like painting something inside me wanted to paint. I was going to therapy classes and we were doing art there we had all kinds of classes and I wouldn't miss a day. So he took me to Michael's arts and crafts and bought me a dummy kit for painting and when I took it out and started to paint it was incredible I made two beautiful flowers somewhat abstract but they were beautiful at least to me anyway so I went and bought two frames for them. I've always been an arts and crafts person since I was in Grammar School but I never really was interested in painting I was more interested in sewing and baking and working with my hands doing a lot of potpourri stuff and making them jewelry boxes and I was into everything except painting. So I call myself an amateur artist. I do a lot of landscape and when they started looking up on TH-cam about painting oh there was so many beautiful things I was just like wow and you were one of the person that I liked that I was attracted to your art and so I subscribed I don't remember what it was but then I started subscribing to canala and a bunch of other ones. But I watch you the most I mean it everyday! This Is Us putting a fingerprint on the world! It was very interesting watching your first video of resin, wow I loved it because it reminded me of something that I did when I first started with resin and they came out beautiful too. I gave them to my daughter for Christmas and I made more and I give them to all my kids and they loved it. Thank you so much for inspiring me. Your friend Sandy...🥰🤗🥰

      Please look into buying or even making silicone cups to reuse. A couple tubes of silicone caulking could make numerous reusable cups instead of the plastic and paper waste everyone piles up doing this type of art. You can’t recycle cups with food or paints on them.
      Caulk the outside of shot glasses and other size glasses, dry, and then peal off. You got yourself a silicone cup😁
      I’m very new to this art, but I’m so surprised no one has thought of this.

    Hi Tammy
    I write from Italy and I want to tell you how much I've learned from your videos. I'd like to ask you if you could show the dried results at the end of the videos. Those I've watched end with "cells are still coming up" and I have no idea of the final result 🤷🏼‍♀️
    Just another question: which products do you use to prepare the tiles before the resin pouring?
    Thanx a lot... HAPPY POURING 😁

    Tammy...WOW!! It came out gorgeous!! I know I’m late to the party alot of videos to catch up on but now I will get notifications!! I heard you say this will go back into the frame? Question?... Will you silicone seal the edges(like they do around tubs) so it locks glass in place but dries clears WITHOUT a back panel then use as a Stained glass?? Or does the light not shine through(paint/resin to thick)?
    I can just picture this hanging in someones kitchen window above a sink taking in all the natural light!! Remember I’m a Newbie so the idea juices are flowing!!😂😂 PS..love your Etsy page too...might have to reach put to you to help me set up mine?! Stunning piece Tammy, even though I think the black was trying to discourage you...YOU WON!! Keep the videos coming, they make me smile & give me inspiration!!😘

      Diane Cardinale you are such a sweetheart! For this one I just took the glass out of the frame and poured on it. When it was dry I just put it back in put the cardboard backing behind it and bent those little metal things down. I think it's too thick for the light to show thru although maybe I should take off the cardboard and do what you said with caulk to see if light will go through. I will help you anyway I can with your etsy you just let me know if you need any help.i just sent you a friend request so you can message me if you need anything at all. tammy anderson update? Was it too thick to hang as stained glass(no light shining through)? Yes...I meant to pretty on both sides to hide in frame if there was a way to hang/display so the light could show the depth of beauty. In a frame with a light shining on it like galleries have would be spotlight the beauty as well! Hope someone didn’t take my previous comment the wrong way b’cuz it was meant to be a compliment for sure!!😘💜

    First time I’ve seen the process resin on glass or even canvas. Do you make the resin like normal and then pour into cups to which you then add paints and dyes? What resin is best to use? I have some for countertops that I’ve used to coat tiles. But the edges are hard to keep the resin on!

    • @tammyandersonart
      @tammyandersonart  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you for watching. Yes you mix the resin just the same as if doing tiles or a painting. I've used all type a of resin but I find the best to be stone coat countertop resin just because it has an extra long working time. Art resin, envirotex and east coast countertop all work well too. As for the coasters I know exactly what your talkong about because it happens to me also. What I will do is 30 mins after I'm done I'll go back to them and use the drip off to kind of rub it around the edges. At that point the resin is a Little thicker and tends to stay better.

      10% max paint if you're making jewellery as it affects the cure. Here, it's only the pink that has paint in it, the others are pigments, or alcohol-based.

    Can you look into silicone cups to reuse? I’m new to this type of art but if there are a million people doing this art everyday, ( in this video alone 6 cups were used) that’s A LOT of cups wasted! You can’t recycle paper cups that are dirty with food or paints etc.
    I have a silicone bacon bin. It would work. I’m sure you could even make silicone cups out of silicone caulking. It just sickens me the waste involved.
    This comment is for every pour painter etc that uses cups not just you Tammy.

    That is Beautiful
    Question:
    Would it be good to put BLACK on

    or even a black paper? Then remount it
    in a frame??

    The only question I have is how careful do you have to be with weight of the resin against thickness of the glass? My luck I would have a beautiful piece and it would crack in half when trying to mount it back in the frame. Lol!!

  • @Helen-us1ly

    I would have liked to have seen the back. You can even put LED lights behind it, like a stained glass except with changing colors, just saying ,I am a mine of ideas. Sometimes being creative you don't have enough hands or years to create everything. You see inspiration everywhere all the time. I could never copyright my ideas there are too many, please take mine. It is your celestial creation that inspires me and many others but it looks of it.

  • @timothyford1534

    So, what about the finished product? What did it turn out like? Also at the beginning of the video, didn't you say something about putting the glass back into the frame it came out of? If so, the following might be a dumb question, but I can't help other than to ask anyhow. If you returned the glass to the frame, did you leave the resin on the glass or did you remove it somehow? With resin flowing over the edge of the glass like that, I can't imagine it being easy to separate them from one another nor would the glass fit very easily into the allotted space it was meant for in the frame with the resin intact. So, seeing your creation being started is neat but the projects outcome should be considered just as important. I hope that doesn't sound too harsh. I do like your creations and commend you for sharing them with the world.

    Hi Tammy, I watched with fascination. Really cool effect. I was wondering if you're using a craft blower or a hair dryer? If so, do you use the heat? I also wanted to know if this would work on plexi-glass? I'm afraid of the glass breaking. I do some blowing on acrylic pours but instead of using canned air, I bought an air compressor. It wasn't very expensive and works really well. You just have to be careful how hard you use it or the paint can blow to the other side of the painting. Thanks for the video!

    • @tammyandersonart
      @tammyandersonart  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much 😚🤗 this was just a normal hairdryer and for this I was using the heat setting because it was resin. If i was using acrylics I would not have used the heat. I tried the can air and that didn't go to good for me lol in love the air compressor idea though. I have seen people use plexiglass for resin but not acrylic. I think it may just peel off but don't quote me on that. I was so afraid this glass would break that's why I used the blow dryer versus an actual heatgun.

    It came out Beautiful~ purrsonally I don't think you can Ever have too much {Metallic} Gold Paint! Also a matter of My Own Taste, I would've £oved More Of The Violet~ and a bit more of the blue, purrhaps, to give it a little brightness. However, none of that really matters. What matters IS that YOUR Kreation Turned Out Frame Worthy and IS BEAUTIFUL!
    I watched a video a little earlier and for my first time saw THE BLOW DRYER TECHNIQUE~ IT'S A GR8 TOOL, isn't it! I loved the idea that you can control some of the placement of the paint and it's a wonderful way to maneuver wet paint without leaving any kind of marks... Very Cool.

      I didn't explain that right... I use 2 little silicone measuring cups to measure both resin parts, then pour them both into a third cup to mix them together. How do you get the hardener and the other stuff out of the 2 measuring cups?

    Love ALL your videos! Can I ask do you tape the back of the glass if you are going to use for a tabletop? How long before you can remove the tape or will it pull the resin/colors off. Thanks

    Please, after pouring and dry, can i cut the glass normally?

    • @tammyandersonart
      @tammyandersonart  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have never cut glass but can you this. The resin when cured is very hard and makes it very strong and its thick so if you have a blade sharp enough to cut through that then I dont see why not. ❤

    Hi there! I'm hoping to coat one side of the INSIDE of a glass block, via a 3/4" hole in the bottom. I'm trying to achieve a finish that will obscure the contents of the brick (Xmas lights). Ideally, I'm hoping to use one product like a resin, perhaps heating it to allow it to flow onto the inner surface evenly, without brushing, as I won't be able to fit a paint brush through the hole to spread or apply anything. Now the tricky part: achieving some sort of translucent finish, while hiding the source of light. I would love to see bubbles or waves or a crackle glaze look. If I can use a color, I'd just go with a sea green tint, to keep it looking as though the glass itself is green. I hope this all makes sense and one of you experts can offer me an idea to achieve this! Thanks very much!

    Possible to try a rustolium mirror spray on the back? And use light pigment additives to keep the epoxy clearer with just a darker tint. This way light can refract from behind?

    • @tammyandersonart
      @tammyandersonart  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm sure that would work too and sounds really cool looking. I guess it all depends on what type of look your going for. For me I was just trying to put it in a frame and hang it on a wall but I also want to try doing one with light coming through. Thanks for watching🤗💙

      First off I want to apologize for not responding right away. For some reason I am not getting some of the notifications when people leave comments. I found Yours by accident when I was responding to somebody else's. So I truly apologize because I always respond within a day. I got those at Home Depot although they sell them at Hobby Lobby and on Amazon also they are called painters pyramids and are approximately $7 for 10 of them. Thank you so much for watching my video have a great day and I'm sorry again.
