The stock exhaust manifold is the main thing that needs to go. Dinan needs to start making the headers again!
yep much power to be gained there
You mean Carbahn.
Black E39 is such a timeless beauty.
A couple of things:
Those HPS intake boots are technically not CARB legal (or at least they will no longer ship them to CA) I have them on my M5 though, so...
More importantly, you absolutely do not have to let them test your car on the roadside if you come across one. You can decline, it's 'voluntary'
The video I have been waiting for! I have been daily driving my 2000 M5 for about 15 years now & I have always been eyeing that M5 when it is in the background of other videos. 😂
I am so jealous of you
Same. I bought my first one (2000) in April 2009. On my third, a 2001 with 130Kmiles. I drive it everyday and love it. Of course, I live 20 minutes from an E39 M5 exclusive dismantler in Dayton MD, so getting parts is easier than for most.
E39 M5, especially in blue, was always one of my dream cars as a younger man. Prices on them aren't too bad right now, but it's hard to justify buying now when the power game has moved on so far and so quickly compared to what was fast at the turn of the century. Still tempting though...
SAM Is so cute i that little M5 driver seat and his widdle keyboard
LOL. What's up Alex.
Impressive, and awesome.
Excellent
Hey Mike ! Did you ever do some 2URGSE content ? I would be more than happy to get your help about isf, rcf platforms. Thank you for your videos and cheers from another engineer from France !
This
I agree but we haven't had any interest and it would be very expensive, all custom parts.
Do you guys have tasteful mods at MotoIQ for a Toyota Matrix?
No not much interest in those cars.
Check out Monkeywrench Racing, they support the matrix and vibe platform still. You can get high 100s to low 200s if you do it right on the 1zz, and the 2zz I think can get to 300 with forced induction.
Hi Mike.
Awesome a new Video!!! I have a Question about gas ported piston and Piston Rings? I understand how this gas porting works, are you trying this out and what's your opinion in this or never tested gas portet Parts? Thank you and the Team for sharing knowledge and spend time to make Clips for us!!!! Good to hear that your voice is back in Action.
Watch our engine videos
@motoiq what video exactly, because there are a few about engine?
Most of our videos are about engines
@@motoiq Thanks for answering.
😁😁😁😁
lets get a video of that white e46 pls!
Amazing info! Can you please get your hands on a E9X M3 with the S65 and do a similar video
Sweet 👍
Once you get rid of that awful exhaust manifold setup, it’ll really free up some power. Still, 365whp is great for an E39 M5.
Sounds good too
The manifold is designed to meet emissions standards and that is our top priority.
Stock ecu?
Yes
What happens if your 4wd and get hit with a roadside smog?
They probably let you pass but fail visual.
more BMW projects please
Add in the supercharger kit❤
Lol right when i buy a e36 m3
"Draconian" meaning parts have to be tested and pass before being sold.
Draconian as in they pull you over in the middle of a commute and run your car on a smog dyno if they want. Draconian as in they pull you over if they suspect mods and send your car to a state referee where it could be gone for months. That is draconian and a fucken joke. Last time I checked pollution can cross state borders too.
Pass California's super tough 5 bag FTP test.
Where SR 🐒📈
Delete the turn signals. Save weight and BMWs never use them anyways.
California is nuts with emissions
Breathable air is nuts? We still have the most aftermarket high performance manufacturers in the country in California for a reason.
California power? Pfft, just swap a diesel in there and put everything banks makes on it.
Not legal!
@motoiq why not? All banks stuff is CA compliant, right? I thought in CA engine swaps were legal if you kept all the emissions stuff.
Actually you are right!
Toyota swap a bmw... For fun.
I don't think so.
