As someone who turns 50 this year I have found that it's great to have a variety of hobbies, you can get bored, frustrated, disillusioned, with only one type of crafting, give yourself some grace and it's great to just go with the flow and do what makes you happy. One tip I would give is to save the pattern / picture of the item somewhere and give a month or a few, look at it again, if it gives you the same joy, then put it on your definite to do list. I have been impulsive in the past and wasted time and money on things I never got to make, even finding materials I don't remember buying, or what they were for! lol.

I also have a lot of hobbies so realistically there's never going to be enough time for me to do all of them every day or every week or even every month, but that's completely okay! Some of hobbies are also seasonal since it's easier to ski in winter and tend to a garden in summer than the other way around:D As for my craft hobbies I tend to go through phases of hyperfixating on something and then moving on to next thing until I circle back to whatever else. Last couple of months it has been mostly knitting and crochet with a little bit of sewing in there.
I'm the type of person who has always multiple different craft projects, books, games etc. as WIPs because I just want to do the things I feel like doing at the moment. I learned to do colourwork knitting last month and I absolutely love it! So I have two pairs of colourwork socks and one pair of mittens in the works. Then I also have one pair of cable knit socks, one knitted shawl and as my newest project a crocheted shawl. I got a sock knitting book (Kaikkien aikojen villasukat) for christmas from a friend and I'm making a bunch of those socks:D Then I got a book called "Knitted spells of the North" (Pohjoisen neulotut loitsut) and I love almost every single one of the patterns in that book and I'm so going to make many of them!:D That's what I'm up to at the moment, knitting, crochet and little bit of sewing while waiting for snow to melt so I can go do some gardening.

I have the color work socks book and love it.
She has a course on Domestika that is 6.99 and she teaches how to do a color work sock. Includes a pattern and lots of other things. I loved it.

In general, the sweaters you show are knitted with a kind of silk mohair (from drops for example) combined with merino yarn and it's really comfortable but for itchiness, it really depends on the brand. But they're really comfortable, warm sweaters. And because the silk mohair is a really thin yarn, you can really play with the colours and decide to chose a colour close from the merino or a different colour. Hope that was clear and helpfull :)

I have no tips to share but I can definitely relate - too many fun things to sew, knit, crochet, paint... it gets overwhelming for me too! You're not alone!

The porcelain sweater is on my list and I have the yarn but I'm not sure whether to start it yet or not due to it being summer in a few months. Also in my colorwork era and just have the sleeves eft to do on my Norma sweater! Still very early in my knitting journey but loving the process

As soon as you said you were into colourwork socks I said STONE KNITS! she’s amazing!! Also I saw someone on insta organise their projects in a carousel method so like on Mondays they just knit one project, Tuesdays are another project. You could do the same? Also I feel the EXACT same like we will never be bored but also we struggle with being under pressure for time. Great video really resonated with it. And I’d love to watch a video on what your teaching is! ❤

We have the exact same interests and I’m also a teacher! I am currently on our term break and I’ve spent my days knitting too. I reaaaally wanna sew some dresses for work but I’m just having too much fun with knitting! I’m about to finish my first pair of socks.

Those knots at hip knit are cool looking! They seem to be made in their own yarn. I like that night light you have on in the background, it looks like a flower in a flowerpot ❤

Love all the different knits you showed. I wish I could get better at knitting socks any tips? I'm struggling with whether to knit with 4 dpns, magic loop or short circular needles. I have the same thing with having so many things I want to make and do and feeling there's not enough time. I recommend a TH-camr called mel makes stuff. She has done videos about Japanese knitting and it blows my mind with what she can knit. I think you'd love the colour work she does. Thanks for always doing such great videos. Love all your illustrations you add to them.

The airy fluffy sweaters are usually made of Surrey Alpaca 😊

I finished my very first pair of socks last week and they barely fit (too big) and are terribly ugly but I am completely obsessed. Going to do another pair or so and then try colorwork.

Ooo I really like the white bug cardigan do you have a source for that?? :)) I am a crocheter and I’ve knit maybe an inch of a little square before and I’ll tell you it’s been a tough transition 😂
