Seeing you beat Snake Eyes is always satisfying. I had good results on my locals tournaments this weekend and part of it is because of your videos. Actually felt like I improved so thanks for that 👍🏻 18:43 Why did you pass turn without using engage or setting called by? You were lucky you had 400Lp left.
I'm glad the videos helped. In the situation against the Pendulum game there's very little merit in setting Called By since their cards don't go to the grave for the most part and if he topdecks Ash or something for my Engage next turn it would be a problem. I have to keep the Engage because his Synchro Dragon thing can negate spells. The only chance of winning there is by hoping to draw into a name or card to bait the Synchro Dragon's negate next turn. There could be some debate on whether I could even let it come out by activating a spell in the first place, but it having less attack than Z-Arc actually mattered here and I would have died if he didn't summon it. There was a different way to win by saving Widow Anchor for later in the turn, but I did that incorrectly.
@@auctaway I see, thanks. I don't know the enemys deck so I didn't know it's effects or what let you to play the way you did. Now I wouldn't say you played incorrectly. It worked out in the end after all. More like a little gambling.
Could you explain the rationale behind imperming Oak over Snash? Do you always do this or are there specific circumstances where you do it? In the second replay, why use Hornet as the starter and not Raye?
Ash is better to Imperm most of the time, but my opponent only had two cards left in this situation. The two outcomes I care about in this situation are them being hand traps or extenders, and the chances of having a meaningful extender here is very low since he started with Witch/Original into Ash. I was expecting him to make Linkuriboh and Princess eventually (where I would Imperm in this situation), but since he didn't and was going for a greedy Heatsoul line, I decided to use it on Oak. Normally I would advise against this, but this has too many weird circumstances to be considered a normal case. Another thing here is that my hand, while disruptive, is not that promising into attempting to stopping him from setting up next turn if I were to get hand trapped while trying to gain advantage. In situations like this I often let the opponent commit a bit of resources before using hand traps so I don't have to deal with their resources like Oak in deck and a few cards from his extra deck (like Linkuriboh) later. I chose Hornet Drones in the second replay because I knew all his cards that mattered and wanted the third spell for the Engage draw. Assuming he's running a normal Snake-Eye deck, I have enough interruption for any play he could reasonably make and I don't need Raye to float yet. I'd much rather have her to normal summon on my next turn.
