Thanks for your comment! In answer to your first question, yes the 6 original corporation cards stay in play and their credit value stays the same. Thanks for your support and please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions!

The setting is great and the art is amazing!
Huge doubts about the gameplay though, it seems it's heavily dependent on dice rolling, so quite based on randomness.

The game is very much based on input randomness, rather than output randomness. We found in game design that randomness itself is not so much an issue as much as the lack of agency it can make players feel. In snakes and ladders for example, you roll some dice and then move that number of spaces and don't get to make any choices. In Gonza Index you use input randomness, where the dice rolls are random but once you've rolled the dice you then get to decide how to use them. You also get some input by using special power cards etc. This means players are still making meaningful choices throughout. Input randomness is pretty common in modern board games, for example, a deck of cards when shuffled is a random element but if you deal 5 cards to each player they can then use those cards in meaningful ways, giving them back agency. This is the approach we went for with Gonza Index. It's certainly not a perfect information game eg. chess, but it blends randomness with player choices that we believe create something greater than the sum of its parts.

@@cogitodesign Thank you for your elaborate reply. You convinced me to give it third look and you even taught me something about input/output randomness.
A deal of random cards to me still feels quite... random. But perhaps with such lean rules it's one of the few ways to add variety to the gameplay.
I'll give it a third look. Thanks again.

    How's the solo variant?

We’re pretty biased, but we like it ☺️ It’s fast-paced and quick to learn and you have the option to play against one or multiple AI. You can even bring AI players into multiplayer games ☺️
