    I grew up at the Byron Hot Springs for about 5 years. It doesn't look like our house or the other houses, cottages & mansion are still standing, nor the other buildings or structures. It was great growing up here. We had farm animals & a garden. Happy memories.

      I first lived there in '69, when the buildings were still intact and livable. It is somewhat shocking to see the drone footage of the devastation of a beautiful place. lived first in the "Dr.'s Cottage, then the house next door, and lastly, after a few years, cleaned up and lived in the old Mead Mansion with stain glass windows. The hotel and all was in very good condition, as there was an old Scotsman and his wife who were resident caretakers. Had many visitors, from their earlier times there, during war and before. I made headlines in '69 "Byron Gardener Arrested For Weeds". It was a big deal then. Was involved in '72?, with the Great 1890's Bazaar', the offshoot of the Renaissance Fair with a Western theme.
      I had many clear-light acid trips with Owsley acid there.
      After the Springs I lived 4 years as a river rat on Kimball Island and part of the 'rat community, when it was still legal to live free on the islands.
      When the Demokratic People's Republik of Kalifornia was still a part of America.

    I need to meet the current owners because I’m that visionary ⚡️

      I read an article that the owners in 2020 tried to restore and build a restaurant. Apparently nothing ever came of it. His name: Robert Cort. He paid over 2 million for it.

    I love your video. Been there three or 4 times. Every time I go, I am always finding something new. A true slice of paradise and a nice place to just get away from it all.

    I live in Byron and we are currently having our roads
    fixed so having the spring fixed would be awesome

    • @modestoca25
      @modestoca25 ปีที่แล้ว

      What does having the roads fixed have to do with the hotel property?

    Hilarious -
    I wonder why you would say that "to the west is easy access from Highway 5 and the Byron Airport..." ?
    Interstate 5 is 25 - 30 miles to the east
    The Airport is to the South.

      Robert Cort applied to restore and rebuild in 2020. Apparently, the county didn't agree.

    It's unfortunately highly unlikely this hotel will ever be restored, it's too structurally damaged and would cost a fortune. It's also not in a great location and the springs are dried up and I don't think too many people want to pay for a mud bath in a place where WW2 prisoners are likely buried and cows defecate all over lol...plus it's haunted. All these people who venture out there are trespassing and risking getting shot at, the ground is littered with shotgun shells all the way from the gate a mile down to the hotel itself. There's also holes in the floors and crumbling stairs and it would be easy to get hurt out there. Gangs hang out there too who also might shoot at you. A friend of mine got robbed at gunpoint by the gates.

      @JuanPerez-ek8wd 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      no one got robbed at gun point, every now and then you hear someone tell that lie, it's kind of like a fishing story, pure bullshit.. it's not haunted and no one is buried out there..

    • @drdogbarker3830
      @drdogbarker3830 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it sounds perfect! Except for the gang robberies. I"d eat at a restaurant there.

    How do you get in to check out the old building? I went out there and it's fenced off on Byron Hot springs Rd.

      George Edwards no it’s not, but please do not trespass on the grounds because if the owner or the renter finds you, you will be prosecuted

    at 1:30 was the place where me and my friends heard a ghost asking us is anybody there at 3 in the morning after having been robbed at gunpoint in the front stairs forcing us to hide inside the hotel until we could've safely ran the mile long journey to the road, which was made 2 miles long because we had to run where there was no road in the middle of a new moon to avoid being killed

      please... try rereading your comment and then rewrite it so that it will make sense.. sounds like a great story, but you just don't the writing skills to articulate the story properly.. take your time and rewrite your comment, like I said, it sounds like a great story, or one hell of a lie.. either way, try to write it in a story format so it will make some sense..
