Here is another mattebox I had a chance to use on the last few films I shot. It's cheap but still great quality. It's sturdy, yet light thanks to the carbon fiber construction and aluminum frame. It has a 2 stage filter tray that holds 4X4 inch size filters. One of the filter trays is rotatable. Also the whole mattebox swings away so you can easily swap out your lenses etc. It mounts onto two 15mm rail rods and has a vertical height adjustment.

I had this mattebox and loved it. Once I saw what Genustech had to offer however... i never looked back.... You should check out the new 'production mattebox' they have its great!

build quality, customer support, ease of use, adaptability, and more. It's the 2nd widest matte box on the market just behind Bright Tangerine, and it really is an awesome piece of kit in comparison. The camtree MB20 can get 'stuck' very easily since it only attaches with 1 screw for the 15mm rod adapter portion. It's such a tight fit, it can be difficult to get on and off your rails.

Hi Tom, thanks for all the great vids.! Im looking into upgrading to a cine lens. i see you use the xeen. it's probably obvious but would you recommend this lens to an enthusiast (im not a professional cinematographer).? Im looking at getting the 50mm for my canon 5d mark iii

Tom -- I just bought a set of use XEEN lenses. I haven't received them yet, but I understand the lines are each 114mm in diameter. I have been wanting a swingaway mattbox that will be compatible with the XEEN lenses. I looks like you are using a 50mm Xeen in your poster frame. Your best advice would be appreciated.

Don't like this thing:
1. The sock gets caught in the follow focus
2. 6-8 mm offset horizontal and vertical. No way to mount larger glasses. Never heard the expression "lws"?

clash of clan fun fans there is nothing to show. it's a matter box. if you don't know what it does then you most likely don't need it.

clash of clan fun fans, it improves contrast and gets rid of lens flare. If you make movies to send to film festivals etc. it's more or less a must.
