  • I'd love to dice this up a bit more with better transitions and voice overs, but my editing software just won't go for it. I've always liked the M-37 and its really cool to drive one. This one is in great condition and I've never had to do any work on it (it is a functioning museum piece). It was recently displayed with the traveling Vietnam Memorial.

    It is an M37B1 made between 1962 to 1968, and was used buy the Army, since it didn't have the USMC modifications (lifting loops and rear light guards) The data plates show organization issued to. and exact month of manufacture can be determined by the serial number (I have that data if interested)

    I have access to a WWII issued m-37 and it’s a lot of fun to drive. Definitely not as clean as that one but everything is still there!

      There’s no ww2 issued m37. They were introduced in 51. You may be referring to a vehicle from Dodge’s WC series.

    You sould double clutch a m37 because they don't have a synchronized transmission.

    Are the gears sync'd? Any other oddities someone who has never driven one would want to know?

      1st and 2nd gear on non syncro, 3rd and 4th are syncro'd

      James Shride If you're driving a Deuce then be VERY careful of the shift pattern. Going from 3rd to 4th can leave you with an unpleasant surprise.

      Agreed, when you get into a Deuce definitely make sure you read the shift pattern! If I remember right the M-37 only has 3rd and 4th sync'd.

    Can you make a video on how to drive a cj2a?

    • @socaladventures
      @socaladventures  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      SaintJames40 I've only every driven a Jeep MB "Flatfender", unfortunately I didn't get video of it! It hadn't run in a while, so I used a hydraulic line from an SNJ/AT-6 Texan (same diameter as the fuel line) to help suck fuel back up through the filter and into the carb. My only suggestion would be to duck your knee under the steering column as you get in... and don't be over 6' tall.
