Came here from Casey's. Staying because of your content! Fantastic! Maybe fill the water tank to get some weight for traction for getting the clutch to release?
!964-1966 drove one all over Germany (US Army). Very capable, handles mud but the heater isn't the most powerful. Tops out around 50-55 mph. Will haul a load while pulling a heavy trailer.
Great truck! Put it in compound low hold the clutch down while your driving and get on and off the gas a bunch of times. That might break the clutch disc off the flywheel.
I have a 55 Canadian built m37. It has a larger engine than the US trucks . Vintage wiring of main has an excellent replacement wiring harness. That's what I used in mine
Ha, nice to see you playing a with a 'Modern' Dodge. Why so suprised the old T214 would start? I have two of your ones older sisters a 1944 WC51 and 1944 WC 54. Both still going happily. Came over after seeing you with Casey. There will be a chioke, and a hand throttle, the trick is , choke out. Turn three or four times ignition off. Add ignition , as soon as it fires , choke in. If it's a Ball carb you notice a hiccup on acceleartation. The mechanical clutch is very twitchy on the push rod adjustment, so get the manual and set it up.
I like you sir i like this shop that equipment and everything thats oldschool cool video keep on making such awesome Videos much respect Patrick 👍👍✌👨🏭
Love watching old Dodges brought back to life. Get that clutch working you will have a cool little yard truck to run around. Rewiring it shouldn't be that hard. No stupid computer to worry about.
The levers on the floor are for the transfer case. Both levers forward is two wheel drive, both back 4 low, 1 up and 1 back is 4 high ( Outside lever back).
Very cool! I'm restoring a 1953 M37CDN in full Arctic trim now, and a 1952 M37CDN going to get a restomod treatment with a Mercedes OM606 diesel repower.
The paint was Martin Senour 98L-1293 Olive Drab semi gloss. The current PPG paint code is 45813. But considering you're probably not going to a complete cab off restoration, just a good semi-gloss or flat paint should work great and look like most of the surplus vehicles transferred from the GOV to the small gov did when they were delivered.
The M37 was rated as ton and quarter vehicle when I was in the Army in 74 if we had a stuck clutch unofficially we would figure out how far it took to start it and add about 10 feet to that and let it run into a semi moveable target with the clutch depressed. Common thing in cold South Dakota winters. Would let it break loose.
Love them trks they were the best can't kill them had one rod knocking i tried to make it blow up so to put spare eng in ended up selling few years later never did blow motor
Dam i want that truck(Mashed potatoes] So can you do a complete tear down to frame and restore? Keep what old but worth keeping and up grade stuff for the better.. God if I lived closer I be there every day Like the wheels, love the wheels but split are dangerous and it will need bead locks and power steering, ac and a heater..
I love these old Power Wagons! Great job getting it running! The one part I'm interested in is the big winch on the front. Isn't it hydraulic? How nasty is that thing from sitting for years and years?
If the clutch "stuck" (the clutch plate is stuck to flywheel) Start in gear, drive around with clutch pedal engaged. It will loosen in a short period. You did drive around, but you didn't have the clutch pedal engaged.
knew i saw a m37m technically not a power wagon though, pws are the civi version but its a grandfather to the pw, have my grandpas 41 dodge wc which is also a grandfather to the m37
What do you think is reasonable for an unrestored one? What did you give for yours? You did something I had not seen before. You dragged the truck to break the gear free. Cool idea. I did not know you could do that. So you only had to repair the clutch, roof, tank and wires?
Typo on the model. Ours in Canada ran from 50 to 59. I forget the price on them. Dad was a RCEME RSM & had all the details. I think I still have the Cdn Drivers manual for them
I know you young fellows they don't know how to set up a carburetor but you are on your way Quentin restore but old Dodge Brothers truck for shits and giggles it'll be different than working on heavy equipment with diesel engines in
" Click Bait " its is not a power wagon its a military M37 truck, the power wagon is a civilian truck. I have got a 1951 M37 ex. Spanish military. In the early 1980 they changed the petrol engine to a Santana (Landrover) Cazorla 6 cylinder diesel engine.
Love them old trucks
I was two years old in 1965. My dad had an old military ambulance.
Came here from Casey's. Staying because of your content! Fantastic! Maybe fill the water tank to get some weight for traction for getting the clutch to release?
Definitely worth a shot, thanks for staying i really appreciate it.
Yes looking forward to follwing your projects

Loved seeing you on Casey's channel. Subscribed and ready to enjoy all your projects. What is next for this Power wagon?
New clutch!

Great to see the old iron around best truck ever in my mind Great Job getting it running 👍👍👍👍
thats a cool old truck looks like fun great video
Really enjoying your channel!! That’s going to be a great project to fix up. She does run smooth! Thank you for sharing!
You should have brought that to the snow run instead 😂
No kidding haha
In viet Nam, 1967 my unit had several m37s, I remember loading sandbags up to roof top, driving and tires rubbing fenders, paint burned off fenders.
I have a 1953 M37, they are rad old chunks of steel! You are really stoked that you have the PTO winch!!
The levers on the floor are for the transfer case. Both levers forward is two wheel drive, both back 4 low, 1 up and 1 back is 4 high ( Outside lever back).
Every time you say "Power Wagon" and not "M37"...
I have beer around here somewhere...
Very cool! I'm restoring a 1953 M37CDN in full Arctic trim now, and a 1952 M37CDN going to get a restomod treatment with a Mercedes OM606 diesel repower.
Awesome
Very interesting, looking for a better powerplant for my m37 as well. What transmission will you be running along with the OM606?

That would be a hell of a nice yard truck for you Quinton and you have a lot of fun jumping it all the time just to drive it to look for parts

3/4 ton. M-715 5/4 ton.
Per the military manual, it's rated one ton on road, 3/4 ton off road.
Love them trks they were the best can't kill them had one rod knocking i tried to make it blow up so to put spare eng in ended up selling few years later never did blow motor
OD green. (OD means "Over Dirt")
Vintage Wiring of Maine or Vintage Power Wagons or Midwest Military all supply excellent correct wiring harnesses.
Wishing you and your family a Merry and Blessed Christmas, and a Happy and Blessed New Year
Love to have that thing very nice
makes me miss my m37s
I live in Alaska and always had better luck with machinery after letting it thaw out.
I like it God bless

The winch is driven of the transmission PTO, not hydraulic
Great video! Any updates on the powerwagon?
Memphis Equipment, in Tennessee, or Boyce Equipment in Utah will have a source for tm for M37.
It's called Armstrong steering, that is why there is a 20 inch steering wheel.
The moment of truth

We just called them 3/4s. Go just about anywhere
Will go over and past anything, besides a gas station!! Hahahaha
My dream has come true thank you for video
Great vehicle, super Project

👊🔥
🪖
its a 230 inline, shel fire
👍😊🔦
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
As you're driving. Work the clutch pedal.
Need to put it in 4th then drag it with the clutch engaged
Tried that, failed miserably
Pretty hard for that truck to be of 1965 vintage cause the M32 was only produced between 1950 & 1959
It's an M37 and was produced from 1951 through 1968.
Typo on the model. Ours in Canada ran from 50 to 59. I forget the price on them. Dad was a RCEME RSM & had all the details. I think I still have the Cdn Drivers manual for them
They both sell hardtop for M37s
I know you young fellows they don't know how to set up a carburetor but you are on your way Quentin restore but old Dodge Brothers truck for shits and giggles it'll be different than working on heavy equipment with diesel engines in
Hey Quentin anything in the military us directions how to run great Dona bazookas and hand grenades I said just don't read the hand grenades too long
The M37 was never referred to as the Power Wagon...
Bring up rpm and try shifting
" Click Bait " its is not a power wagon its a military M37 truck, the power wagon is a civilian truck. I have got a 1951 M37 ex. Spanish military. In the early 1980 they changed the petrol engine to a Santana (Landrover) Cazorla 6 cylinder diesel engine.
