Statistically, Bradman is untouchable. Kallis and Sobers finished with higher batting average while also adding serious all-round value. Sangakkara got better with age, while Ponting in 2001-2006 was nigh untouchable. Lara at his peak dominated quality better. But cricketing greatness comes in many shades and hues. Tendulkar had the weight of expectations since he was a pre-teen. Crowds thronged Bombay's local grounds to catch a glimpse of him. He played first-class cricket with men who were battle-hardened with decades of experience. To translate that to international success first, then handle incremental expectation of billions as he set new benchmarks for success, to singularly carry the hopes of a nation through the 90s - that alone is immense. Then there's the entire section of commercial brand value of Indian sportsmen, which is thanks to his spotless, safe image as a relatable role-model. Woke up with aches, bruises, went through career-threatening surgeries, played through pain, trained in gym to be able to play top-flight cricket, mental preparation, media commitments .. And he did all this for 24 years! Let's keep aside the comparisons and criticism, and process that. And be thankful for this.
All stats speaks his greatness and for the people who rate him closer to Kallis, Ponting, lara etc... I just wanna add that for a long time in his career suffering from back stain which restricted him to step-down and play lofted shot and also pull and hook shot was painful for him to execute and during that phase also he was able to perform top class. Most importantly - even the bowlers knew that he has restriction then also they couldnt stop him. This factor carries maximum weightage in my view and that puts him way above any other player.
Kallis and sangakara are surely great batsmans but they didn't have uniform good record in each country. Also kallis odi average is almost equal to SRT but look at strike rate and impact .
The humility stands out. That is what made him great. To carry the immense burden for such a long period you need to be mentally extremely strong. The love for the game. That also stood out. He could have easily retired after wc2011, he was in tremendous form and was at the peak. Actually he didn't know at that time what would he do, if he doesn't play....i think he is still searching for an answer. Thank you Sachin, for being u.
He was so matured at that time... same media questions which u see in 2019.. .. but handled iy so well then... ma inspiration ma reason fr loving cricket n still watch his videos on You Tube God Mr Tendulkar
Sachin was so clear and so sorted at such an early age. And he stayed the same way though out his career for 23 long years and even after his retirement. Sunil Gavaskar had his assessment of Sachin perfectly right. He said Sachin 's biggest challenge would be to handle expectations. However, Sachin handled that wonderfully well... Both are super geniuses...
Watch this interview of Sachin and then the episode of Hardik Pandya in Koffee with Karan...one will understand the difference of mentality between God and Devil.
when we respect good persons we get lot success and happiness its our parents and good people god gives good family and good success like Sachin Tendulkar happy nice day sir
Mark Richardson all cricketers regard him as bets cricketer after Don Bradman......don Bradman himself said when he looked at tendulkar he saw himself batting

No he does , if injuries had not happened, irfan pathan wpuld have been the greatest indian pace bowler. If amir was not caught , he would have surpassed everyone to be the highest wicket getter for a fast bowler. Ok if bradman had not been dismissed for 0 and scored a 4 , he would have had an average of 100 at the time of retiring. Every player has had some sort of restriction, the beauty lf sachin was that he ket adapting. The innings in sudney is a great example of sachins mental strength. He is still my fav, he is still probably the greatest cricket ever but injuries is not a valid arguement. His records and consistency is.
Another thing, ponting never had to face McGrath, Lee, Gillespie, Warne, Johnson type bowlers. Same way Kallis never had to face Donald, Pollock, Steyn, Ntini, Morkel. Sachin simply faced the best of bowlers and yet still he scored 100 centuries
i dont think he is equal to gavaskar in case of test cricket. in test cricket gavaskar is above tendulkar. gavaskar hit runs against some of the toughest bowling attacks from westindies.
WOW...Sachin had so much clarity even at that time at that age..unlike people at that age today..had control over his words...so simple and humble!!!
"Off course my coach was RAMAKANT ARCHEREKAR and he is still my coach " 🙏🙏🙏salute for giving respect to your former teacher who is also his guru .

Ponting had an unbeatable team given to him by Waugh with super players and his aggressive approach in tests was a joy to watch.

Awesome comment, sir! 👍
absolutely true sir.....well said......hats off to sachinn
Gavaskar was absloultely correct. Biggest hurdle was people's expectations. And he ended up being the greatest
Sunny Gavaskar's prediction of SRT becoming a legend is proven to be correct.
Gavaskar also predicted big things for Manjrekar.
4:40 Sunil Gavaskar's prophetic words, "He might even make you forget Gavaskar!" 👌🏼
What amazing answers by Gavaskar in the interview! Really appreciate what he saw in Sachin at that time.

1:28 That's Kumble bowling. Sachin's maiden ton was in Kumble's debut Test - Old Trafford - 1990. Played for 18.5 years together for India!
Little did Mr. Bhimani know at that point that he was interviewing the world's greatest Cricketer in his formative years. *RESPECT*@SRT!
4:36 ...gavaskar was very modest and absolutely correct at the same time
He was so matured at that time... same media questions which u see in 2019.. .. but handled iy so well then... ma inspiration ma reason fr loving cricket n still watch his videos on You Tube God Mr Tendulkar
