My wife and I stayed just above the book store. So magical when all the tourists left for the day. Had dinner at the restaurant too. Loved "The Prisoner"
For a minute, I thought I fell down a rabbit hole and was in Wonderland! Chess anyone?? A colorful, whimsical, and delightful walk! And, I think that little bird liked you! 💜💜💜Thx Dave

What a gorgeous day that turned out to be. The clouds looked like a painting. I could hear the American jets practicing flight patterns through the valley!
Ahhh ! Wow !! I was right !! I was gonna comment when I did ! That it looked like Portmeirion !!! I didn't ! I should had !! I love love Portmeirion !!! I've been there briefly for about 2hrs max !!! Lol. In summer '83 !!!🧡🧡🧡💜💜💜💜🥁🎵🐉🎤🎶💕💞
ah I wouldn't worry about it in the slightest, statistically there is always going to be someone whom wants to be 'that guy'. It was how many likes I got in an hour that I was impressed with!
Well done Dave. I was there after a gig at Butlin's in the mid nineties, my colleague and I took the opportunity to go and have a look at the place on the way back home. Because it was December there were no people there at all and the atmosphere was eerie. I particularly enjoyed the Ship on the quay, that isn't a ship at all, I love visual jokes like this. Of course when I was there it was soaking wet from the constant rain, but the buildings are fascinating.
Hello! Thank you for the beautiful and relaxing tour. It’s so calming and relaxing to walk around this place 😊 Enjoyed watching. Have a lovely day ☺️👏🏻👍🏻
This is a village where too much colour is not enough. The bright buildings remind me of parts of old Lisbon or a child's colouring book. It's certainly pretty enough, but am unsure if it's style is too much Disneyland for my tastes. I am a painter/signwriter by trade, and would like the contract to keep all the buildings looking good. A job for life. Enjoyed your wander in the verrrry green walking trails. You have certainly dialled up the colour saturation for this one. It's a nice look though. Variety is the spice of life. What a lovely way to spend some time. It's a rough job you have, but someone has to do it. Rotten jet plane noise: rot your socks. Never mind. They can't spoil our fun.
Your videos bring me so much joy. I've never left the U.S but with your videos i'm able to see the ins and outs of places I wouldn't be able to see otherwise. (I even made a "Dave's Walks" playlist on Spotify at the beginning of the year that I listen to when I watch your videos.) Nothing more peaceful! Thanks as always!! =)
Thnx bro It was a treat for me ( like a vagabond)👍😊 What a colourful Welsh is!!!!! Wow I bet there will not be the heritage Britishers have preserved .With it's original features.lncredible!!!!! It was dream walk.Thnx once again.👍😊 With best wishes From India
This was the very best Portmeirion video I've seen !!!!WOW !!! 👍👍👍👏👏👏💖😍 You're so~good at this !!! THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video !!! I could tell that you really love the nature & what you do !!! You're very thorough always !! Nobody has shown these areas before ( the forest ) ,I've watched more than several Portmeirion videos/ vlogs & North Wales vlogs !! The woods is GORGEOUS !!! 😍💖💗💗💗💘💝 You are easily one of the very best walkers/ vlogers out there ,if not the very best !!! I do believe you are !!! EXCELLENT JOB !!! FABULOUS !!! MARVELOUS !!! This made me feel like going back there !!!Ah ~ !!! 😍👍👍👍🧡💖💜💜💜💜🥁🎵🐉🎤🎶💕💞
Indeed, this I think may be because the cameras of 1967 just weren't able to capture the colours as strongly as today. I recon it was as colourful when they filmed it as it is shown here 😊
Wife and self first came here in 1969, have been many times over the years, last visit 2019, still enjoy it….like spending a few hours in Fairyland!! We often stay in Penrhyndeudraeth which is v convenient.
Id normally prefer my walks with just me and Uncle Dave, totally absent of humans. This time, it was a welcome addition. Very beautiful location and lively friendly people. Almost reminds me of an Italian Villa.
Great stuff Dave, thanks. At first I suspected you of tweaking the colours! I have watched the entire TV series, and for some reason I thunk it was filmed somewhere in Eastern Europe, like on the coast of Estonia. I guess maybe that's where Number 6 deduces the Village is located and the geography become stuck in my mind as fact.
Glad you enjoyed it! The camera does film it often a bit too de-saturated, so I bring out the colours, I always try to get it to how I remember it looking when I was filming and I am very happy with this one. I will have to re-watch The Prisoner at some point!
I’m not familiar with this area at all, absolutely gorgeous. I wish I had known to explore here when our family lived in Germany. Was this filmed during low tide, or is there a water shortage?
😮 Lost for words to describe the beauty of this place, than you Dave for the walk 🙏❤️👍
My pleasure Samundra!
Looks like a fairy tale city
I can see this beauty spreading all over wales, england and scotland, we won't go back to ugliness ever again.
Great places and beautiful country scharing amaizing thank you
Brilliant walk. Such a quirky place. Not only do I give a thumbs up for this video, a guy gives a thumbs up IN this video. Very meta.
Haha very meta indeed! 😊Thanks for the thumbs up!

It's beautiful, I think its jealousy....plain and simple.😍
A wonderful village walk. Cool!
Thank you Ulu😊
My dream is one day I'll make it to Portmeirion for a few day stay and just walk around the whole place and just enjoy the experience.
At first I didn't read the video description so I was like "Dave went to Italy?" lol.. Such a pretty and colorful town. Thanks for sharing!
Yeah a lot of Italian styles and colours in this village, definitely a unique place in the UK 😊
I know Portmeirion, as my family also has Portmeirion cups and dishes at home. They're still beautiful like the nature of this village.
@@clairenoon4070 Truly, eh? It sounds very interesting.

@S JLA seeing it during snowing would indeed be magical!
Ah Thank you for sharing John! I imagine it does very different in December!
Do people live there ? Is it where the 60 s series the prisoner was filmed ?🏴🌹
This is the first Portmerion walking Tour where someone has actually taken the woodland route, which is my favourite part,so well done, love it.
OMG...this place would give many a Swiss village a ride for money... amazing
❤❤❤
Hello! Thank you for the beautiful and relaxing tour. It’s so calming and relaxing to walk around this place 😊 Enjoyed watching. Have a lovely day ☺️👏🏻👍🏻
Thank you so much 🙂
I first visited Portmerion back in the 1960s. Sailed across from Portmadoc harbour and landed on the beach. No one else there. It was amazing !
Oh wow, the place to your self, I can bet that was indeed amazing!
So amazing beautiful magic place..thank you soooooo much 👌🙏🎊🎉
My pleasure 😊
This is our favorite! Thank you Dave for your amazing series! We watch them every day!

Beautiful place!
In the psychedelic series "The Prisoner" (1967), this cute town looks more natural. Today all houses are like cream cakes.:) Don't you think so, sir?

Даже облака здесь сказочные! Здесь, наверное, живут феи....
at 15:05 a woman's reflection lines up perfectly so it looks like this guy's head is on her body and it made me laugh :P
I’m not familiar with this area at all, absolutely gorgeous. I wish I had known to explore here when our family lived in Germany. Was this filmed during low tide, or is there a water shortage?
Filmed during low tide I believe. 😊👍
there is a chess board in the center
There is indeed!😊
I swear I will marry a Welsh lady from this village and settle down there. If any business owner needs a computer engineer just give a call.
Thank you 😊👍
Colour makes d place look Spanish rather than English…! (Or s Welsh suppose to b colourful…?🤔) …nice nature…👍🏻
It's just a very unique village for the UK. The only village of the UK completely in this style I believe. 😊
I get Disney vibes from this place. People really live there?
I believe people do live there, I assume they work there also. Shop staff, gardeners, maintenance etc
@@DavesWalks thank you for your answer. Yes, maintenance workers. It‘s quite possible.
It would be so cool to live there ! Wales has the most castles in the uk 🇬🇧
