Another great video. I just might have to pick up a carousel. I also loved your last video on brush painting. Thanks for sharing your passion for model kit building. You've also inspired me to do a build as you did, using the original paint instructions on the TOS 650 Enterprise.

      You are so welcome!
Glad you are trying out these techniques and builds.
Now that I have my hobby area cleared up, I can start getting more serious on what I am doing.

Oh - I've always painted things with brushes! You'll never get rid of brush painting and these skills and techniques are essential from model kits to scale trains to miniatures and everything in between. Until this video, I've just never been able to pull off a car paint job using a brush that I felt good about. It's just easier to grab a can of spray paint. I can't wait to try out this technique again!
This video is proof that you DO NOT need an airbrush or a spray can to get a great paint job. In fact, I find that it looks more realistic on these older vehicles. Back then, cars weren't painted with modern 2-stage urethanes - they were usually single-stage lacquers, and Testers gloss enamels are about the most available and inexpensive way to get about as realistic as you can get. In my opinion, brushing enamels on these kits make them look even closer to real life. Even then, you can polish to your hearts content if you want a little more glossy, modern look. You can't go wrong with this.

I have never had a carousel for my paint. Now that I have Testors paint (square bottle), and Tamiya paint (round bottle) I would need one that holds square bottles and one that holds round bottles. Thanks for sharing.

Sounds great! - You will have to see if Tamyia has a carousel, but I know Testors still makes theirs...just don't use those awful plastic brushes! LOL!

I still have it but haven't used it lately as I haven't bought any new models in the last two years, but check the paints to make sure they don't dry out.@@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage

Hopefully you'll have the same success with your paints as I had with my Dad's. 40+ years old and still work, or were brought back to life with some paint thinner. - Good luck!

Some were dried right out but was able to save some of the paints by putting reducer in some. and some were newer and still good.@@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage

Hey Trevor. I remember the carousels . Do they still make them? I'm guilty of having paint bottles everywhere on my table. Thanks for sharing . Have a great day.

They do still make them. If I get the hobby shop open again, I'll bring some in.
