Bruce Trail - Beaver Valley (Old Baldy): KM 46.8 - KM 52.2

Officially 200km done the Bruce Trail!!! What a great day to pick to hike Old Baldy as I hit the 200km mark just when we reached the outlook on top! It went up and up and up... and it had POURED and POURED as we parked our truck so we weren't sure how this hike would go. But it was great and the view was amazing!
And then it happened. On our way past Old Baldy, we hit a non maintained road and we did what happens to every hiker eventually. We were too wrapped up in chatting to watch the blazes and ended up taking a wrong turn. We went KILOMETERS out of the way before we realized, and it was down a really steep road and we just didn't have it in us to retrace our steps. Dejectedly we chose to follow the road back to the truck and call it an incomplete hike. In the rain, as we trudged along the paved road on the valley floor, a car passed us and slowed to a stop... friends of ours (from the north end of the PROVINCE just happened to be there and see us - what are the odds??) They were awesome enough to shuttle us to the spot we had taken our wrong turn and we got to finish the hike afterall! How amazing!?
Dad even drove the hour and a half after he was done work for the day to meet us at the truck with dinner because we hadn't planned on being on the trail ALL day... oh my feet!
But what an epic way to hit that 200km mark!
