I just found you by accident ( a happy one!) and found this vlog really interesting and useful, so you now have another subscriber. 👍 Just need to find some time to catch up on your back catalogue now.
I really like this channel of yours because through your adventures you showed me how beautiful the landscapes in the UK are. I am from the Czech Republic and the UK for me always was just cheap flights to London or Edinburgh and being in the cities, maybe a short trip to Scottish Highlands, but you don't really think of mountains. I love hiking and exploring and now I know I can plan a trip to so many places and go for amazing hikes 😊
Loved your tips and felt the same when I bought my 50 1.8 I wished I had bought it before and it was suggested to me immediately. I love that lens. Looking for my next one but not sure which one. Any suggestions? (BTW subscribed 😊)
Jonny, first time viewer. What a hidden gem I have found in your channel. Love your thoughts on playing to your strengths. I have a prosthetic leg and have found that making yourself uncomfortable, challenging yourself does make you a better photographer. You are absolutely correct in saying that your own challenges are what makes your photographs unique, irrespective of the topic. The journey is indeed as important as the destination. Great stuff.
Thanks loads Robert I hope you enjoy the rest of the videos. I really appreciate your insight, I think people finding their own journey is what makes their work different!
Amazing content 😊 You still happy with your A7iv for Landscape? Planing to buy a new body that can do both - my weddings and landscape (my other option would be the A7Riii). Thanks in advance!
Lovely video, as always, Jonny! I hope people appreciate how hard it is to film yourself. You already go out on difficult terrains to make these videos but you basically walk (climb) the distance twice, because you have to go back to grab your camera. Kudos to you for doing it all by yourself. Great tips too, useful and actionable, coming from real-life experience.
I've been watching your stuff for a while, didn't realize you were in shropshire as well, Most of my photography and explores on my channel are in Shropshire. You're right people pass us by here they're usually on their way somewhere else, but there's some real gems here
I think a good photo would be at the 1:18 mark of your video where the island just comes into view of your foreground, the sun streaking down, the mountains and sky in the background. Great photo for wall art.
Well, this is amazing. I am glad i stumbled upon this channel. Going to look through your stuff, you are an inspiration! If you don't mind , I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. I am a new photographer , thats recently decided to make it a career (I have been shooting for over 3 years though). I am completely in love with photography and all its aspects. All its genres. This is both a blessing and a curse( but mostly a blessing) since I love to do literally every type of photography -from portraits to protests, video game photography to landscapes, artistic experimental photos to basic stuff. I am in love with it all. The tricky part is finding a balance between the things I do for money and the things I do for the sake of the art. Right now the jobs ive done range from shooting a calendar for a basketball team , to following and shooting for a mayor canditate , portraits , videos and photos for a coffee place and stuff like that in general. But the more I think about it what I would really love to do is make enough to be able to just shoot whatever I want. Anyway , this got very long so ill end it here. Id love to hear youe thoughts.
I don't know if it helps to be more unique or if it's working against me, but I often (when I can) try to make my shots look like they weren't taken where they actually exist. Or if possible I'll at least try to avoid / mask locale-identifiable aspects of a shot. Admittedly it's (very) rare when I can do that, but the farther I can "relocate" my shots -- as they appear to the viewer -- from where they actually exist, the better. Maybe that's because I don't really like where I live. That said, lately I seem to have taken quite a number highly locale-identifiable shots... maybe out of desperation. BTW, I'm from Louisiana, USA.
I highly reccomend you watch the video from the night before here ---> th-cam.com/video/AVL_FowgKKU/w-d-xo.html
Great advice regarding foreground. Most of my best landscapes seem to involve getting down on a knee (or even lying down 😅).
Thanks mate, definitely had my fair share of those!

Thanks mate, yeah I’m still really happy with it. I would love an A7r5 but the file size on those big images would kill my laptop.
@@JonnyKeeleyPhoto I see, thanks for your reply 🙌🏼

Thank you, super glad the video comes across that way. I’ve thought about making a video called 10 minutes of me running back for the camera :)
@@JonnyKeeleyPhoto Now that would be a funny eye-opener for TH-camr wannabees, haha

Shropshire is a beautiful spot right!
@@JonnyKeeleyPhoto Shame so many locals talk down about it! I never get tired of seeing the sunset over the Wrekin from my kitchen window

Jonny, thanks for the great advice video.
Just one thought - why break the rules, when bending them catapults you so much further :)
I like it!
I am in Cheshire so if you ever want a trip out give us a shout
Sounds good 👍

You know what they say, the grass is always greener. I felt that way about where I live too.
I'm new to your channel, really impressed with this first video of yours, that i've watched!! subscribed!
Thanks for watching Andrew, I hope you find some more interesting stuff here!
Every photo ever taken is unique.
