Sage has fallen into the "Luka Doncic is my King" bit so much now, to where he's giving his honest take about the MVP it just sounds like extreme meat munching
How exactly is it stat padding? His team was 10th in the west last year, lost in the play-in. They are the #1 team in the west now, and they only added a 3rd option in Chet. So how exactly is he stat padding when the team’s success has skyrocketed?
Yeah but just because embiid committed daylight robbery last year doesn't mean Jokic should get the MVP this year when two players have had a better season than him.
Historically speaking, it has always gone to the player with the best combination of winning and stats. And when you consider that Jamal Murray missed 25 games this season and the nuggets still were the second seed there’s little surprise it was Jokic
Only thing SGA had was 4 extra ppg over Jokic… (putting aside half his points are free throws) how does that mean you deserve MVP over a guy doing everything else lol?
MVP most of the time goes to WS/48 winner, which was Jokic Bro also led in most advanced stats Best record in conference Y'all are taking part in voter fatigue without realizing it.
I give it to SGA 100%. But to say he was “robbed” by Jokic is too much. Robbed is a term only used when a player is the clear choice but they don’t get chosen, that doesn’t apply here because both Jokic and Shai played like an MVP. So even tho Shai should’ve gotten it, Jokic also had an equally good season to warrant the choice.
I will remind everybody that the Thunder were the 10th seed last year and they only added 1 player (Chet), who ended up being their 3rd option. Now they are at the top of the west. Shai averaged 30, had the most 30 point games, was one of the best defenders by position, is an under appreciated passer, and is one of the best clutch players in the league for the last handful of years. I just wanna know what exactly he needed to do to win. With Jokic, if the argument is stats, Luka had better stats across the board. But to be fair to voters, Jokic had far better success in the regular season with the race for 1st coming down to the last games of the season. Luka stans are unable to get off of their knees for long enough to acknowledge that he simply does not win enough games to be this perennial MVP that they think he is. But if you want to strike the balance between those two philosophies, the answer is still SHAI! Dude average 30/5/6. I’ll be honest, high rebounding numbers for a PG really dont mean shit. It usually points to a lack of discipline with the frontcourt. So while Luka and Jokic edge him out in that stat, I can let it slide, and 5 rebs means he is consistently trying. PPG, he checks the box. Assists, Luka has more…. but how many more wins does Shai have? So what really matters? Are assists really more important than winning plays? And finally, the average age of his roster is 22.5. Luka has Kyrie, Jokic has his entire championship roster, Who is there to mentor Shai? Who is the one the can make up for Shai’s mistakes as the older veteran with a lot of gas in the tank? He doesnt have one. He is doing all of this by himself. And I dont think the Thunder would have made it to the playoffs without him. So he was the MVP with a bullet, the voters blew it. Luka, start winning some fucking games bc the dick riding is wild. Tatum will never be MVP. Jokic is a better answer than Luka, but still bullshit.
In the interest of “keeping it a buck,” everyone is welcome to their opinion on this, with the understanding that said opinions actually don’t matter in the grand scheme of things. At the end of the day, the majority of unbiased parties agree that Jokic is the best player in the world right now, period 🤷♂️

All had great cases for the award and saying Jokic “robbed another MVP” is absurd. He’s deserved all of them, they’ve just been close races
SGA stat pads

Everything you just said is moving the goalpost multiple times just to claim SGA is the mvp
