The new Genishin impact Natlan live symphony performance has just been released, I hope to see your reactions to it. It blown me away when I watched the Livestream.
The water glasses is actually so crazy because in Genshin, Fontaine is the region of water. With nearly everything having either a nautical deco or subnautical steampunk theme in its design, and their deity is the God of Hydro (water)
all of the genshin battle osts are mainly classical orchestra pieces made with modern flare and excitement unlike some other orechestras that are slow paced
So in Genshin, once a year a big update adds a whole new country with new real-life inspirations. To introduce/tease the new country, they always release a short concert video with 2 songs: the main theme of the country and 1 of the battle songs. You just watched the Fontaine concert/teaser which was released last year. On 16th of August, the next new country will (should?) get their concert teaser video! I would definitely recommend the other short concert videos as well, the one from Sumeru (my favorite) and Inazuma (I believe Liyue and Mondstadt don’t have any)
mondstadt also has one but they did it during a concert so he'd have to search for the footage through one of their concerts or someone probably clipped it and made it its own video somewhere for the purpose of reaction content since it is fairly meta
The 1st two regional themes are part of larger concerts. See below to direct links: "Liyue": th-cam.com/video/8svl0sQXDLI/w-d-xo.html "Mondstadt": th-cam.com/video/UIam8zl4af8/w-d-xo.html
That instrument that you're talking about at 7:30 ish is a glass harmonica! It's principle is similar to a glass harp, the water filled glasses that we can see in the first half of the performance! And you're right! The fingers of the player have to be dipped in water to make the individual notes. The idea behind these special instruments here is that Fontaine is the nation of Hydro or water so they brought in water related sounds. I was super impressed when I first saw and heard these performaces :O Edit: If you enjoy unique instruments added to an orchestra you're definitely going to love Genshin's music and it's especially worth listening to the live versions to see the instruments played. Inazuma, inspired by Japan has a lot of Japanese instruments. Liyue from China. Sumeru from the Middle-East and India
I second those comments. People who grew up on music classic to those countries-China, Japan, India and the Middle-East-are often impressed by how spot on those inspirations and influences are. As for Fontaine, it’s musical inspirations are rooted in the ideas of opera and the Belle Époque period of France (1871-1914, after the end of the Franco-Prussian War up to the outbreak of World War I).
First one you hear when you enter the big steampunk water city, and the main letimotif is here throughout all the best story moments and cutscenes. The story is like an entire performance on a stage and you don't find out until the end. Themes of justice, crimes, operas, perfromance, masks, mysteries, internal suffering, trials, and all. There's like a huge guillotine like building in the middle and that says a lot plus it's france inspired (the name of the osts are in french) so you know what will seem to happen to the marie Antoinette like character
Genshin music is the best music ever. Best music I've heard so far in a game. I absolutely loooove Genshin music! It is perfection. It gives vibes, it inspires. It's absolutely amazing.
If you wish to know more about the behind-the-scenes of this video, Robert Ziegler, the conductor for their ochestrations, uploaded a video on his channel talking about the instruments, the process for this all to come together and all.
I really love watching the Genshin symphony performances! I'm amazed on the instruments they use and their awesome talents. Genshin have multiple symphonies based on the game region. Hope to see you watch and react to them 😊 They also have concerts!
7:41 That thing called, glass harmonica, invented by Benjamin Franklin. And its amazing how music can be created by practically anything that capable of creating sound, like that wine glass in the first song or Dvalin's battle OST using a type writter to make a "ticking" sound in the background of the song.
There's actually a video by the orchestra conductor reacting to other people's reactions and commenting on some of their questions and BTS, I'll look for it and link it bellow.
Outside of version trailers and character teasers which I'm sure you've gotten requested countless times by now, some song recommendations would be Hustle and Bustle of Ormos which is one of the fan favorite non-combat themes and Inevitable Conflict which is arguably the best non-boss combat theme! Also returning to the version trailers and character teasers, they contain amazing music as well, one thing I particularly love about the version trailers is how they combine multiple songs representing what is added to the game in each version, it's so fun to see how they blend different themes together!
Agh I don't know if you'll see this so I might reply with this onto your next genshin video as well, but I just remembered that the particular video that Hustle and Bustle of Ormos is in (with people actually playing the instruments for you to see) is kind of hidden! It's very similar to the Fontaine video actually, having two songs in it while the title only includes one of them and on top of that there's another video that has almost the exact same title that doesn't include Hustle and Bustle of Ormos. The video with Ormos is called Sumeru OST "Forest of Jnana and Vidya" Preview MV not to be confused with Sumeru OST "Forest of Jnana and Vidya" Promotional MV which does NOT have Ormos in it. Hustle and Bustle of Ormos is amazing and it is worth watching with the instruments actually being played! Especially since you're so interested in discovering new ones!

This symphony is for the French water based region that came out in the game almost a year ago but next month we are getting another new region so we might end up getting another one of these when the new region comes out.
The first theme is the main one for the latest region (we’re about to get a new one tho Natlan) and it plays in the main city. As always we recommend giving a listen to the previous region ones they all worth it
The man with the translator is here again. LET'S GOOOO, I've been waiting for this for so long. Well, then you could watch some kind of boss OST. They haven't been here for quite some time.
fun fact: If you can analyse the first track being played in the live symphony performance (Fontaine), you'll see nearly entirely main story in Fontaine just by listening to the music :))
If you are up to it, I suggest listening to the rest of the regional theme live concerts (with a battle theme as the 2nd song for Chapters 2-4). A great way to compare and contrast the full musical theme for each region. Do note, Chapter 5 "Natlan" will be released soon. In reverse order of the traveler's journey in the game. Chapter 4: ""Fontaine"" and ""Rondeau des fleurs et des rapieres"": th-cam.com/video/qZ9DaB7xRZs/w-d-xo.html Chapter 3: ""Sumeru"" and ""Swirls of Shamshir"": th-cam.com/video/VrP3lO3aGDg/w-d-xo.html Chapter 2: ""Inazuma"" and ""Overloard of the Thunderstorm"": th-cam.com/video/e4bptIoZFDE/w-d-xo.html Chapter 1: ""Liyue""*: th-cam.com/video/8svl0sQXDLI/w-d-xo.html Prelude: ""Mondstadt""*: th-cam.com/video/UIam8zl4af8/w-d-xo.html * The last two are part of a longer concerts.
@RobertZieglerConductor did a TH-cam video about him conducting this concert! It's a relative short video (around 12 minutes) and I highly recommend watching (and maybe even reacting to it?) It's really interesting and gives some nice behind the scenes details! ☺
Oh my!!!! We need more like this. But, one suggestion, "All Devouring-Narwhal" Weekly boss theme, They do mixing on this OST, U gonna like it. Ohhhh mannnn, talking about ost genshin ,Endless broooo!!
@@YoSunnyP thanks for reacting as well. also fyi, new region is coming soon, which is natlan, a region inspired by south american music, cant wait to see you reacting to the ost later as well
THIS WAS ACTUALLY AMAZING! THANK YOU ALL FOR ALL THE RECOMMENDATIONS!

Thank you for sharing this with me! That’s so cool.
You’ve introduced me to a whole new genre of classical music. I can only think of it as modern classical so glad I found you.😊
Check out the official Genshin Impact channel or their music channel "Hoyo-mix".
I recommend yu-peng chen's recent videos. It gives a vibe similar to the ones in Fontaine.
all of the genshin battle osts are mainly classical orchestra pieces made with modern flare and excitement unlike some other orechestras that are slow paced
Just check out the basically any ost from genshin impact. If you want any suggestions I can give you plenty
Fontaine is where all the classical era-inspired music are at.
Just you know, the 2nd part of this fontaine symphony is the battle theme in said region

This song hit diff when you finish the archon quest😢❤
Ikr! I always cried whenever i listen to this
I'm always tearing up🥹
The reason why they incorporated water instruments in this orchestra and song was because this music is for the Nation of Water :)
Fontaine ost brings back that scene, 😢this waltz, to the d…..
