Great idea for a video series. I organise an online delivery for my parents each week and have tried all of the supermarkets & Ocado. I think there are pros and cons of all of them so it will be good to compare notes and see if you find the same! X
@@cazlovescakes they are pretty good although their fruit & veg can be a bit disappointing and they charge even more for M&S products than you would pay in store. They good “flash” sales as you checkout though on things they want to get rid of (not necessarily short dated but short enough that they need to sell). They also notify you when you’re the next delivery and when they are unpacking outside which I like. Morrisons (which I presume you also can’t get there?) and Ocado use the same system, drivers and both deliver with ocado bags so must be in some sort of partnership. Although I know it’s not great for the environment I do prefer bags so I can take it through to the kitchen more easily myself to unpack rather than having to mess around with shopping whilst the driver waits or have them walk back and forth through the house whilst I try and navigate keeping an eye on the front door etc! X
Thank you - I thought it could be an interesting one to do whilst I’m also collecting new in items from places, especially if I don’t normally shop there 😊
That's the same as I noticed that asda don't have the cheaper delivery slots until late evening. Even on a Sunday their slots are more expensive, puts you off a bit , their saver option is cheaper I think but don't want to be tied to one supermarket, I like to swap shops per week with the other supermarket chains
ASDA used to be my favourite supermarket, but since they pushed their prices through the roof during the cost of living crisis, and haven't bothered reducing those prices when the crisis eased (profiteering) they have become my worst supermarket. They are a pure rip off and I suspect, due to less customers, they are in financial difficulties and will soon go into liquidation. It would serve them right though because they have started to rip their customers of.
I miss Asda! Used to always do our shop online too. Did get the odd substitute sometimes though lol I never knew that you could search by new items though, that's handy
Thank you for the lesson in using the Asda app as I’ve never tried it before. I like how it has a ‘new in’ section, although the accuracy is somewhat dubious 🤣. The correspondence was impressive and I’m glad everything arrived in a satisfactory condition with reasonable expiry dates. Looking forward to the next instalment. Perhaps I’ll be persuaded to try an online grocery delivery by the end! Xxg
You do have to watch ASDA, because the amount of times I've ordered from them, and the items that they didn't have (and didn't have a replacement for) they didn't refund the money. Then you have to go through their annoying customer services and then it takes ages for them to refund it.
I find their online refund system is generally pretty easy to use, but I’m not sure how new that feature might be. You shouldn’t have to fight like that to get your money back. That’s not good service at all.
@starvr Yes. If you view your order after it has been delivered, there’s an option to select “problem with my order” and then “ask for refund”. It’s usually processed within five minutes.
Hey will you be doing a ED live stream soon? Could really do with skme reassurance for the refeeding part and weight gain of aneroexia as im going through this and im absolutely terrified I'm 18 and in recovery and this is my first week of regaining properly with regular eating and a meal plan but in 5 days I have already gained 5kg?! Is this normal to have gained this much so quickly? Is it mainly fluid or have I really got that big so quickly? In the mirror I already look nearly "healthy" and I have always been quite petite anyway but I'm scared the hunger messages won't stop and I won't be able to control myself once my weight is restored and I will become overweight, I'm absolutely terrified of myself and my body and all these physical changes alongside the ongoing mental battles, reading other peoples journeys they say initial weight gain is very quick but i haven't read anyone say they gained that much in a few days, most people have said a few pounds in a week or a few kg in a month, am I over feeding? Did you experience the same? Do i need to restrict myself a bit or something or eat smaller portions again? I'm so scared and ashammed of myself and my new appearance and its only been a week
I’d like to do another ED livestream in the future, but don’t have any planned for the moment. I’m not sure I’d be able to say much more than I have already in my podcast. I suspect it’s your ED saying you look nearly healthy, and it’s highly likely a lot of the initial weight is fluid. Everyone’s body is different, so don’t compare yourself to others. There are so many variables - age, ethnicity, behaviours, etc. your body will do what is normal for it. If you start restricting then you are fighting against recovery, and you will only prolong the side effects (fluid retention, bloating, that sort of thing) which your body will go through as it tries to get used to a more regular eating pattern.
Hi Caz I use Asda but mainly for George things ( duvets , bowl, mug etc) when I did try food they sent wrong milk - meant to be soya light and they sent me ‘growing up milk’ ffs 😮and I wanted sugar free jelly and they sent me sugar version so I rang straight away and said I was diabetic😅and got refunded immediately ! So that’s a good thing?! I’ve also done sains but not Morrisons or Tesco - also I don’t like how they emphasise the over 40£ gets free delivery because I end up trying to spend 40 on useless things !!!!😂v
Great idea for the series but one thing that's going to be a real pain is when you make an order online how would thay know ware to deliver the shopping if your living is a place that is not easy to get to
A lot of ASDA drivers have been reported for harassing women - other companies too, doubtless, I've just not looked into it yet. I've also personally seen a load of pigeons pecking away at a load that was then put into a van for delivery. Never, every order home delivery, especially women living alone, and especially in this crackpot all-comers welcome environment. Do your own shopping - think of your safety, health and wellbeing.
As someone in recovery from an eating disorder, and who walks rather than drives almost everywhere, I most certainly do not need to get off my arse and think of my health and wellbeing, thank you.

Morrisons is available here but it’s so limited both in slots and stock that it isn’t worth it, especially as the store is a 15 minute walk from me.
This is such a great idea for a video series, very helpful and interesting too. I look forward to seeing the other 3 💕

You can add a note for the driver
I don't know because it will be the first time using asda's delivery service
@pauldunhill5309 it’s up to you. I always add a note although my property is easy to find, but it lets them know how many stairs there will be!
Can me and you chat on a on social or a different platform so I can explain it better in greater detail
