Your other videos sound better so I'm sure a setting got bumped or something. Probably not super noticeable with speakers but with iems it's distracting. Nothing huge I just like the channel and want it to be at its best. cheers. Edit: The cut at 9:29 sounds perfect compared to before and after. So it seems you solved it.

They're 7 years past their original release date with no end in sight. Not even a roadmap to beta. But they made more this year than ever. Their newest thing is a mining buggy for 700 dollars. There is some absolute hilarity. They literally made a roadmap for making the roadmap. Selling land was pretty hilarious too. Land doesn't even have any use and they didn't even say what it would be for in the future. And you weren't actually buying land but a 'land claim certificate'. LOL. And back when they would actually make release dates they would tell players that it was delayed by saying nothing and letting the release date pass by. Those were as much as 7 years ago. It's nowhere close to release now, you didn't know it wasn't ready for release in 2014 or 2016 or 2017?

I don't play MMO's either (last time I did was WoW Cataclysm), but I like to follow along gaming news. Also, Kira, Cal and Josh make amazing content so even though I'm not always extremely into the subject matter, all three's videos are really captivating.
The round robin strategy is very very common. It works in this case even better than with the barista example. Just from playing WoW a bit, I have learned that it is WAY easier to form a raid group when you have a 5-10 people start out of the 40 you need. So what you do as a leader is to get anyone that applies to make the group look more ready and reliable, then once you attract decent players you kick anyone unwanted along the way. Brutal, unfair, but it works. Same here, seeing that people have already invested half a million, gives anyone unfamiliar with MMO scale development a sense of trust and comfort. Surely it can't be a waste if this many people have also seen potential in it. Contrast that to seeing a project with zero resources asking for even 10k. It seems like much more of a risk to put in your 50 bucks. What if they never get close to that goal? What if nobody else funded it and you get nothing out of your 50.
The developer that had the interview with Zack story was pretty telling. No one interviewing someone for a legit job would say “our ex-Google engineer”. They would just say “our engineer”. Him saying that to the interviewee was just to try to establish credibility because they have nothing else to offer.
I love your videos and dedication to researching and exposing this whole dream world thing but I have 1 request. Work on the audio balancing while editing, especially if you're running ads. Bout blew out the speakers in my car cause the add was 5x the volume of the video. Keep up the good work!

Skiazos has had plenty a days to make another video addressing the news, since the release of his first gameplay vid. I don't agree entirely with the dislikes, but I see why they've come for him. People likely see him as supporting scammers, and just don't want to support that. Stuff as disgusting and psychotic as death threats are another story (he's probably received those too), but video dislikes? Meh... That's the game.

This greg person is now going to have real problems getting work in future by being attached to this, why would he do that intentionally. 3. if you're going to make a scam, why didn't they make a convincing one? if we equate this lie to the lie about his engagement ring, the dreamworld lie would be the equivalent of laughing at his fiancé, telling her it is a real ring and then banning her on discord. 4. What I got form her video is that she does not want to give an opinion wether it is scam or not. I can understand her. She is done with the dude. If she takes a stance either way, she will become involved and I can imagine that is the last thing she wants. However she stated during the video multiple times to check video's of people who have actual knowledge and draw your conclusions from those. In my opinion this is the same as saying 'I am not gonna say it is a scam therefore I will let others say it is one'.

The main difference Chronicles of Elysia and Dreamworld is that there's at least evidence that CoE spent crazy amounts of money at the beginning of its development. I highly doubt Caspian got to enjoy the money from the backers at some resort. The guys from Dreamworld went on vacation right away, and probably already spent at least half the cash on themselves. This was not a subtle scam
Update, in case you didn't know, backers aren't even getting the *pre-alpha* unless they had gotten two other people to back the project,which is impossible to do now.
Creating an MMO from ground up takes millions of hours of work. I'm not exaggerating. I work in AAA game development. I haven't worked on an MMO, but I work in a company that has worked on an MMO. It took a team of 120 people 3 YEARS to bring to a beta-stage. Thats 120*40(h/week)*50(work weeks/yr)*3 = 720000 hours. Wages alone took almost 20 mil for the company. Suggesting you can do it for 10 thousand dollars from a Kickstarter is like pitching an aircraft carrier and asking for a 100k. There is not enough red paint in this world to paint this red flag.
according to them they spend about 320 hours every week collectively on the new updates for the alpha. They then release patchnotes where only one thing has actually changed and the rest is just bs. For example, one update they "improved loading times" by banning people who had big structures from the main world. And the few things in that patchnotes that arent total bs are done very poorly. They added a door that wasnt even implemented properly. It doesnt open and close like a door when you interact with it, instead it spins around. They're just scammers.
When I listen to your videos, I have to turn my volume up alot, and then once your video is over, I have to crank it back down to listen to all the other youtube videos. Hopefully you can make your videos louder in the future. The shop lifter analogy was good

"Lol what youtubur sent u here?" is a common response to any form of critique. They have kids believing they are going to be contributing to the soundtrack or in some way contributing to the creation of the game. Those are the majority of supporters, deluded and naive children. I never even heard of dreamworld , except for it being called a scam upon release. The big news was really star citizen being called a scam . All Dreamworld had to do is stall the release to cobble something together . At least put in the effort.

I've purposed many crazy delusional ideas at the pub (feels like so long ago now, when are they reopening?), compete rewrites of the star wars trilogy, me and my friend tried making a history podcast,but I held the mic to close to my face and you could only hear my breathing. But they aren't scams, just delusional ideas with no experience of how to achieve them. would you disagree?

I honestly can't believe how people can support something on kickstarter without doing prior researches. Before anyone say "its just kids that don't know any better". Those people who donated hundreds to thousands of dollar can't possibly be kids. Plus, what the fuck kids doing at kickstarter anyway.

*whispers* Callum, check out that one vid that's like, advanced sound settings for streamers. There's a filter for OBS and Streamlabs that takes out the noise your mic makes when you talk. (For some reason I can hear that, I had to do that for my own mic too)

The main difference Chronicles of Elysia and Dreamworld is that there's at least evidence that CoE spent crazy amounts of money at the beginning of its development. I highly doubt Caspian got to enjoy the money from the backers at some resort. The guys from Dreamworld went on vacation right away, and probably already spent at least half the cash on themselves. This was not a subtle scam

Creating an MMO from ground up takes millions of hours of work.
I'm not exaggerating.
I work in AAA game development.
I haven't worked on an MMO, but I work in a company that has worked on an MMO.
It took a team of 120 people 3 YEARS to bring to a beta-stage.
Thats 120*40(h/week)*50(work weeks/yr)*3 = 720000 hours.
Wages alone took almost 20 mil for the company.
Suggesting you can do it for 10 thousand dollars from a Kickstarter is like pitching an aircraft carrier and asking for a 100k. There is not enough red paint in this world to paint this red flag.
according to them they spend about 320 hours every week collectively on the new updates for the alpha. They then release patchnotes where only one thing has actually changed and the rest is just bs. For example, one update they "improved loading times" by banning people who had big structures from the main world. And the few things in that patchnotes that arent total bs are done very poorly. They added a door that wasnt even implemented properly. It doesnt open and close like a door when you interact with it, instead it spins around.
They're just scammers.
When I listen to your videos, I have to turn my volume up alot, and then once your video is over, I have to crank it back down to listen to all the other youtube videos. Hopefully you can make your videos louder in the future. The shop lifter analogy was good

@@pootie3181 It seems that 90% of the disc if not more are schoolkids, those are the ones who are defending the game sometimes just reducing the conversation to straight up insults as a way of dismissing any rational criticism. "Lol what youtubur sent u here?" is a common response to any form of critique. They have kids believing they are going to be contributing to the soundtrack or in some way contributing to the creation of the game. Those are the majority of supporters, deluded and naive children. Feel free to have a look, its actually amazingly sad.

so i went to skiazos channel to check it out. Seems like a decent up and coming POE streamer. Hes got some good production value and it feels bad knowing that he will be buried by this before he even had chance to get noticed. and its only like by 20 votes per video, with no comments (other then someone calling him a nerd.)

I never even heard of dreamworld , except for it being called a scam upon release. The big news was really star citizen being called a scam . All Dreamworld had to do is stall the release to cobble something together . At least put in the effort.

Hey Callum, love the videos, please I would make sure, before you release any footage of the alpha, make sure that the devs haven't added in any specific monikers to try to identify the user that sent you the alpha to try to sue people for more money. I know it's a stretch, but it never hurts to be careful
